It's a 20 minute walk into town so it may be better to Uber. Our room overlooking the lake was top notch. The view is incredible and the facility itself is outstanding. It worked out really well for our family.

The staff, facility, and room were top notch. The shuttle to and from the hotel to city center was a BIG bonus. Our only quibbles were the bathroom was cold and we would have liked a smaller sink with more counter top.

This is a beautiful property with ex Ellen’s customer service. They provided all of the details upon checkin and even walked us to our room to give more details. There was a shuttle that would take people into town. This is a very nice service and it would have been cumbersome without it since this isn’t close to the main district. If you are with a group or will be coming in and out on a frequent schedule and don’t want to wait for the hourly shuttle, you may consider staying closer downtown. The lounge is beautiful with a wonderful view. The restaurant has a nice view as well. The only thing we didn’t like is the lack of counter space in the bathroom. There is a huge sink, which is lovely, but a baby bath basin isn’t necessary. Otherwise we loved it!

Kia Ora Tamara, Thank you for taking the time to leave your detailed feedback. While we are only 1.8km from the city centre, it can seem a lot further with the heavy traffic at peak times. Our drivers are instructed to take the scenic route (great views from Queenstown Hill) to avoid the traffic jams which does make the trip to town a little longer. Given all the road works in the town, we think our location is just perfect.

Booked a room for our last night in town as a 'special' getaway from our Airbnb following our engagement earlier that day. I did advise them in advance that we were coming to celebrate our engagement which would be that day, didn't seem like they made note of it, which is fine, but the little touches for those types of things always make it nice. The room was as described but the view was slightly obstructed by the rooms below so not complete outlook like their images. Our room was also right next to the kitchen were they offer the buffet breakfast so we could hear banging from around 7am behind our wall which wasn't ideal. Went to buffet breakfast but they had ran out of seats so had to leave and return in 15 monutes. Don't get me wrong, it's a lovely hotel, but lacks some of those little touches that make the difference to your trip for the price when booking a 4-5 star place!

We are honoured you chose to stay with us as a special getaway night. I only wish we could have had the chance to show you a few other room options with different outlooks. We apologise for the morning noise from the dining room and that we were full in our restaurant for the breakfast rush. Our team do a fantastic job of managing breakfast to the best of their ability, but unfortunately have no control around when guests want to eat breakfast.... and it is always at the same time. I will take on board all your comments and relay them to the Department managers. We value your feedback and strive to make changes to enhance our guest experience.

This hotel is under a flight path !! Horrible. We were not made aware of this. My advice is to never use this hotel,,, unless you like aircraft noise.

Kia Ora Roger, In all my years at the hotel, you are the first guest to mention this. Planes do not regularly fly over The Rees Hotel as there are various approaches and flight paths into Queenstown. In fact, over the lake is one of the least used by pilots. Given the aviation rules around early and late flights, this is really a non issue for all our guests as the earliest flight out is 7am and the latest is 9pm but rarely do we hear them.Our rooms are sound proof with triple glazed windows, therefore when the doors are shut, this should not disturb our guests. We thank you for leaving your feedback.

We arrived in Queenstown and the hotel we had booked online was a disaster (a tiny 10x10 box room), so we quickly logged into Expedia and found The Rees. So glad that we did, as this is a home away from home property. We had a 2 bedroom Apartment, with a gorgeous view of the lake. The furnishings are top notch, and the building is safe, new, modern, quiet and extremely well staffed. We did not eat in their restaurant, so we can't comment on the food. Their shuttle service to downtown is amazing, as parking downtown in near impossible. All in all, we'd stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Queenstown.

We loved our stay in a hotel room and were sad to leave…. We loved the room and the view - parking was a breeze and we barely used the car as the shuttle service was great. Beautiful outlook from every window and faultless service (including delicious chocolates on our pillows). Just had to remember to put the bathroom blinds down for privacy 😝

Fantastic property, clean/modern rooms with spectacular bay/mountain views and access to the lake. Breakfast left something to be desired, but the bar in the lobby is great for a nightcap. Would definitely come back.

There should have been bottled water in the room at no charge every day as they had a boil water advisory. The waitress in the dinning room did not mention there would be charge for bottled water. It should have been free. The restaurant had the worst lamb shank I have ever eaten. I complained and nothing happened

If guests do not have refillable bottles, we have bottled water available at the front desk which is complimentary.

Nice stay
We had some issues (local water bacteria) and BAD massage, but the hotel staff was excellent and super friendly. they also were very helpful on anything we needed. the food was excellent.
