**For any future guests**This guest wanted a private room but booked a dorm as we did not have any available. She requested a refund but was not given one so she did not stay with us as she did not want a dorm bed.

I have looked at your reservation and it appears you did not have any interactions with any of our staff over the entirety of your stay other than on check-in and check-out and you have not provided any feedback in the review. We have also inspected the room and guests that have been in the room after you have also not mentioned anything untoward. We're really unsure what went wrong as this review is way below our average as one of the best rated hostels in New Zealand. For future stays it really is best to talk to reception if you have any issues as we cant fix all of the ones we're not made aware of.

Hi Marja! Thank you for your feedback. We aploigse that you did not enjoy your stay with us. Booking a bed in a dorm room means that you share with other people, maybe booking a private room would suit you best. Regarding the noises from other people/heatpump, we do offer free ear plugs at reception. It is a shame that you did not mention any of this at the time because we would have been able to help. Hello Ah Peng, Thank you for your review and your stay. Please note that you booked a room with no kitchen. We do have a guest kitchen with a tunning view of the lake that was availble for you to use however. We also clearly state on all of the booking sites, as well as our own, that we have no parking. Please make sure you read the facilities of each accommodation provider that you book with to avoid expecting something they do not provide.

Hi Rebecca, thanks for staying with us. Unfortunately we have one of the oldest working elevators in Queenstown, and whilst it is in good working condition, we do limit the use after-hours to avoid any unnecesary incidents when we are not available.

Thanks so much for your review! We're not fans of the roadworks on our street either, but thankfully this will all be completed by March 2022, so hopefully this will never be an issue again for a future stay!

Thanks so much for your stay and your review Sandy! Being in the center of Queenstown and right on the lake front has it's advantages, but unfortunately downtown nose can sometimes be one of them. We do have double glazed windows and free ear-plugs available though, so make sure to keep your windows closed and ask at reception for earplugs for your next stay! :)

Hello Paulina, Thank you very much for your review. We really appreciate your feedback. After investigating your issues with our staff I have been informed that the sheets that we replaced for you were slightly stained (biggest apologies for that) however, I can assure you they were not dirty. They had been washed and dried thoroughly. I have also been informed that you asked for new sheets after our reception staff had gone home and did not want our night manager, who was on call, change the sheets for you. There was other guests in your room and one sleeping in the bed above you and unfortunately we cannot see anything that happens to fall onto your bed after we have finished housekeeping, however, if you had have mentioned this issue to us or let our night manager help with your sheets, we would have been able to solve this problem for you too, no problem. I ask that if any guests have an issue, please let us know before you leave as we are unable to fix issues we do not know about. As for the ducks outside, I'm afraid bird noises are a part of New Zealand and it's amazing nature - This is why New Zealand is so special. I can assure any guest that there are no ducks in the rooms though! People passing on the street is part and parcel of any accommodation with a location as good as ours. We are very happy you enjoyed the rest of your stay though and thank you for mentioning our staff and our beautiful kitchen!
