Sanctuary Whale Watch Cruises. Went out on Monday June 1, 2015 and got lucky to see this big humpback whale breach (AND also get a photo!). While the whales are not feeding as frenzied as the past couple of summers, they are still plentiful. Keep your eye on the news as the summer progresses. Sometimes the whales come in close to shore here as the 'canyon' that runs through the bottom of the Monterey Bay nearly hits the shore here. https://www.sanctuarycruises.com/
Kayaking with my Dad and kids, we left from the Moss Landing kayak shop to head up Elkhorn Slough Reserve. This is a FANTASTIC outing! You see amazing wildlife, very close by. The quiet calm of the slough is peaceful and restorative.
After kayaking all morning in Elkhorn Slough with my dad and the boys, we drove through 'downtown' Moss Landing on the way home. We looked left and noticed this gorgeous field of yellow flowers, with the landmark power plant in the background.
