We were very happy with the level of cleanliness when we arrived. The air conditioning was a lifesaver, with a unit in each bedroom. It was incredible how close we were to the beach, tucked away right next door to the Secrets all-inclusive resort. We felt very fortunate to have found such a gem of a place.The kitchen was well equipped, with a coffee percolator (ground coffee required), a Ninja blender, and a great selection of cooking utensils, pots, and pans—everything you need. The couch was comfortable, and there was a lovely outdoor seating area as well.There are some stairs to consider if you have mobility issues: one flight to reach the front door and another to access the main bedroom. The beds are on the firmer side but still comfortable.What truly makes this place special is the level of care and communication from the owner—she is exceptional. I got very sick with a stomach bug, and she went above and beyond by calling a local pharmacy and arranging for nausea medication to be delivered to me that same night. Laura was outstanding, and her communication made our entire stay effortless. It truly felt like a home away from home.As a side note, be aware in DR you need to dispose of toilet paper in a trash bin rather than flushing it, due to local plumbing systems. When it rains, there can be street flooding, and water pressure may vary at times. I would recommend downloading a translator on your phone and know that American Express is not widely accepted.
