We loved staying at this place as it is calm and so very green! It is like being in paradise and we could see macaws, tucans and lots if butterflies every day, sometimes monkeys, frogs etc! The cottage itself is fantastic and everything is well thought and constructed. The host and her employees that cared for us are fantastic! We would love to come back!

Absolutely a picture of paradise. The grounds are lush and well maintained, the location felt very private even though you were steps away from the beaches and restaurants. Cesar, the caretaker went above and beyond and rescued us when we got in super late because of a flight delay and had trouble finding the property. The host contacted him and he was able to escort us to the cabin. Communication with host was excellent. We spent 11 days and did not want to leave! The previous rave reviews held true and this property was everything and more.

The pictures don't do it justice!!!! Watching the monkeys literally come swing by the place over coffee and the afternoons, swimming in the pool, walking to the beach and lounging in the multiple special areas of this adorable place to call home for 5 days was heavenly!!! We felt beyond safe and the hosts were more than kind and attentive. We didn't want to leave!!!!! Cant wait to come back!!!!

My wife and I had a wonderful 9 nights at the white cottage. The pool was perfect, nice and cool and very clean which can be difficult in the jungle with the rain etc. Location was great, very close to many great restaurants. You are close to one of the best beaches in CR arrecife. Ceasar was lovely, it's clear they take incredible care of the property. highly recommend the cottage for couples.

My partner and I spent a week at the White Cottage... aka Ginger & Cacao. It was exactly what we were looking for and needed. The property really is carved out of the jungle and the gardens surrounding the cottage are absolutely beautiful. It was very clear to us that there was considerable thought in both designing and maintaining the gardens. We also loved being able to see an incredible number of birds, monkeys, agutis, and other animals. The cottage itself has a beautiful verandah that overlooks the gardens and pool area. It was perfect for sitting outside and relaxing... anytime of day. The cottage interior is quaint, quirky, and roomy. The local area is wonderful with beautiful beaches and restaurants. That said, you can easily spend an entire day relaxing poolside. We would like to especially mention the excellent service and attention that the caretaker, César, provided throughout our stay. He greeted us warmly when we arrived, was very responsive, and super friendly.

All I can say is “Wow” what an incredible place. It was super clean and roomy, beautiful bedrooms. Beautiful landscaping. Wonderful pool. This place was a wonderful experience. Ceasar and Marabell was the very best! Anything we needed was accommodated.

My husband and I stayed at a few places in Costa Rica for our 20th anniversary and the White Cottage was far and away the most amazing. It truly is even better than the photos! Just a short walk to the beach. Caesar and Maribel were wonderful and keep the property in incredible shape. Please live lightly and gently on this beautiful property. It deserves your utmost respect.

Everything was incredible. The owner is dedicated to customer satisfaction. Excellent foresite for issues that may arise. I ran out of propane while cooking supper, then contacted Jose at the gate and he brought a full bottle up within a few minutes. Excellent perception on the behalf of the host. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the birds are especially plentiful. Outstanding property and host.

We celebrated our 30th anniversary here & what an amazing adventure it was! We were greeted at the gates by Jose, his wife Carolina & their two kitties & they toured us through the property & made sure we were settled right away. The place is beautiful with a lovely pool and stunning views. We walked on our first evening to get dinner on the road below. The road to the property is a little steep so make sure to feel capable before trying it on foot & we would recommend a four wheel drive. Following the first day, we rented bicycles or a scooter nearly every day & visited most of the beaches in the area. It is a lovely ride to Punta Uva, Manzanillo, Puerto Viejo, & Cahuita Park for only $30 USD a day by scooter or about $14USD for two bikes. Such fun! The food in the area was amazing, many, many options & it was wonderful to visit w/Jose & Carolina at the end of our days out & about or relax in the pool in privacy as no one was in the other houses most of our stay. The howler monkeys were shocking on our first night but we quickly began to love the sounds of them in the nearby trees. We saw every kind of animal we were hoping to see on the property & we were able to get great pics & videos, except for the toucans would never stop long enough for us to take their pics. We cannot say enough about the kindness of the caretakers. We were even able to meet the owner Zvezda as she visited for a couple of days—she was very kind & lovely as well. Highly recommend!!!!

The location of this property is near the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. The cottage is clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The pool area and gardens are very inviting with a covered gazebo and comfortable seating. The caretakers were friendly, kind and helpful!

This property is beautiful. The whole excpierence was beyond spectacular. The area is easily accessible to all amenities. The caretakers and owner was super helpful when it came to suggesting places to eat ,shop, and see wildlife. Absolutely loved this place and would highly recommend it to people.

This property was everything we wanted for our first trip to Costa Rica! The property was great and we felt very safe with the gated entrance and on-site caretakers. We saw some cool animals on the property, including poison dart frogs! The beach was close enough to ride bikes to, which we did with bikes we rented at the bottom of the hill from the property. It was very quiet and quaint with the feeling of being in the jungle, but the luxuries of being in a beautiful home close to town. We highly recommend this property if you are considering the Caribbean side of the country!

This place in incredible. The garden alone is worth the price of the stay. On the first day, we saw monkeys, toucans, and capybara from the porch! This home is straight out of a fairy tale, it’s so hard to fully grasp it’s beauty. It’s actually better than the pictures if you can believe it. The location is quiet and perfectly centered near multiple, extremely gorgeous beaches (that folks who stay in town would have to travel to). There are also local markets ( and bike rentals) very close so you won’t have to eat out everyday! The neighborhood feels genuine and local and isn’t overrun with tourist attractions, which we really appreciated. Svezda, the owner was very patient with us (as our plans changed during the pandemic). She was timely and responsive, and always there for any question we had. More so, we absolutely adore the caretakers of this property. They felt like family to us and just radiated care. We felt very safe here. I would ask, that if you are considering a stay here: please treat this place (and those who care for it) gently and with respect. I want nothing more than than the preservation of this heaven for others ( and hopefully myself again) to experience. Pura Vida

The unit itself was super beautiful and calming. Two big ceiling fans help keep a breeze going. Windows were mostly blocked by art/statues but a few were able to be opened, tho the curtains were a bit of a chore to navigate. During a thunderstorm we lost power but there was a flashlight handy. When I checked in, they took us through all three buildings for us to choose which we wanted to stay in which was curious. After driving 5 hours from San Jose, I didn’t really want to be making any choices. The driveway to get up to the unit is treacherous. Super steep and at a crazy angle with the poorly maintained dirt road. We had two cars - a sedan and a 4x4. Both made it up but was definitely easier in a 4x4. Addresses here in general are tricky but the owner was able to send a Waze location. Only a 5 mins walk from the beach but again, super steep hill so be mindful of that. Overall, it was a great last minute getaway for a night or two.

My wife and I stayed in the white cottage for 10-days and it was an incredible experience. Despite the pool being shared by the two other rentals on the gated property we never ran into the other guests and everyone was very respectful of our cottage's privacy. The open studio layout of the cottage seemed interesting from the photos, and after 10-days of living in it we were obsessed with the design and layout. This villa is a dream stay and I could not recommend it more. Also, Zvezda was very attentive and answered all questions immediately. Also, we met this adorable black cat which we named Jaguar. We believe she was the neighbors, but after petting her for a good hour one night, she became our best friend. We would go out for the day and when we returned she would meow from the jungle to let us know she was there. If you stay at this villa and you see our little friend, please give her some head scratches from us! One tip for those trying to work from this villa: the wifi is shared with one other house on the property. If you find your internet is slow, there is a 5-minute walk down the hill and to the left to a cafe called "Tostas" with super fast internet always. The owners are friendly, the smoothies are refreshing, and the food is incredible for breakfast or lunch. Anyway, my wife and I absolutely recommend this stay. We plan on coming back to this villa every time we return to Costa Rica!

We loved staying here. It is as beautiful as the pictures. The onsite hosts were lovely and the owner is very responsive. You can tell she cares about this property. We stayed in the cottage and there were people in the other house only a couple of nights, so we basically had the pool to ourselves. Closet and shower are great. The kitchen has plenty of what you need for cooking. I would stay here again. A couple things you should realize...it IS Costa Rica. There are ants of various sizes in the cottage, especially the bathroom. Not sure there is anything that can be done about that. Also, yes, the monkeys, frogs, and various creatures can be fairly loud as they don't care about your sleep. Ha! Also, as I've found in most of CR, the bed is not that comfortable and could be softer with better blanket and pillows. But I'm a spoiled gringo, so I'm sure that's part of it. Overall a great stay. We really enjoyed relaxing on the porch in the rain, or at the pool and cabana in the sun. The beach is an easy walk down the hill.

We enjoyed this place so much that we didn’t leave all day. we couldn’t peel ourselves off the the hanging beds in the gazebo. Kept plunging into the pool and just completely and totally relaxed without a care in the world. Had a screaming match with holler monkeys, watch green macaws trying to mate, toucans flying around and geikos singing at night. I want to return for a week. The location is superb. THE beach, little soda and mini super just down the driveway. Perfect. No complaints whatsoever.

So much fun staying here. The beautiful beach that you can walk for miles in either direction or swim and just relax is a 5 minute walk from the White cottage. Pita Bonita a very good Israeli restaurant is also a 5minute walk. The animal/bird watching in the lovely garden while cooling off in the pool is a great way to spend time. Loved it all and can't wait to return. The hill to the house is steep, so if you are walking you do need to be able to walk 150 meters up a hill.

Truly an amazing place to relax, enjoy the outdoors and beach! We loved the White Cottage! The grounds are beautiful, the monkeys a delight (even early in the morning) and toucans in the trees! Nearby restaurants were wonderful. We rented bikes from a neighboring business and rode to wonderful beaches. Zvezda was a great source of information and assisted us when our flights had numerous delays. Ask for her advice and she will be a great resource. The caretakers-Pablo and Sandra were so kind and thoughtful as well as helpful. We usually look for new places to visit with each vacation, but I can see us returning here!

We loved everything about it! We were surprised that it rained so often, but it didn't matter because the cabin was so nice just to hang out in! Basically right in the jungle yet 200 meters from the Beach. Quiet 'hood with everything within walking distance. We'll come back
