Me gusto mucho la ubicación. El cierto de abajo precioso y con AC. Sin embargo los de arriba muy calientes y sin AC. El ventilador del cuarto de 2 camas no tiene nivel intermedio solo muy alto o muy bajo. Y no tienen puertas ni ventanas de Cedazo para poder ventilar. Igual en el ares común y cocina agregaría otro ventilador. El colchón del mismo cuarto un poco suave. Por lo demás todo muy bien.

Ein wunderschönes Haus zum wohlfühlen. Wir waren mit 5 Personen dort und hatten reichlich Platz,die Schlafzimmer und Badezimmer sind super geräumig,der aussenberreich mit der offenen Küche lädt zum verweilen ein. Zum Meer ist es ein Katzensprung und der Pool ist toll. Von den ganzen Tieren und Vögeln im Garten wollen wir erst garnicht anfangen,das würde die Bewertung sprengen. Ich kann das Haus und die Gastgeber nur empfehlen.

Excellent location for a sleepy beach vacation. Friendly caretakers on site. Friendly locals and a few cool little beach bars/restaurants within walking distance. We saw more wildlife in our week on the property than anywhere else nearby (sloths, howler/spider monkeys, toucans, aguitas, guans, iguanas, etc). A/C and hot water works perfectly. Hot/Cold water purifier on site. We had 8 people (4 adults/4 kids) at the house and it worked out well. It is not a modern high end home, but fits the bill for a beach bungalow with everything you need. New pool was amazing as well. Punta Uva is a super cool place. We heard a lot of negativity about the Carribean coast, but it exceeded expectations. One of the best beaches I've ever been on. If we ever come back to Costa Rica we will be back.

What an amazing bit of heaven. The home is located on a large tropical lot filled with almond, coconut, banana, and other impressive trees. It feels pretty secluded and we were fortunate to have visiting animals like sloths, monkeys, agouti, great green macaws, and toucans. Caretakers Alvaro and Sue live in a small house behind the main home that we stayed in. I personally liked having them nearby as they are friendly and helpful while also respecting the privacy of guests. Alvaro and his son left us young coconuts to drink from twice during our stay - what a treat! And, you are directly in front of such a beautiful tropical beach. We enjoyed not having to haul sunscreen and backup drinks from the house to the shore as these items were just steps away. The AC and WIFI worked well. Note that just the bedrooms are air conditioned. The kitchen, dining, and family gathering spaces are not climate controlled but have fans running to keep cool. We visited the last week of July into early August and enjoyed perfect weather - mid 80s during the day and mostly sunny. Rains came at night while we were sleeping. Just down the street is a restaurant you can walk to that has good food and cocktails. Can't recommend this home enough.

So perfect!

We are two families and some friends. We were 8 at one point. 6 most of the time. The house fit perfectly. Three very comfortable bedrooms each with its own bathroom and very welcome air conditioning. Upstairs open air couch desk and hammock. Downstairs open aire kitchen and living space with large dining table. We did most of our own cooking. Wonderful grocery stores very close. Su and Alvaro live in the back with there kids and they were so helpful. Cleaned the house about every 3 days and did laundry! On the property we say howler monkeys, Green Macaws and iguanas.The beach was steps from the property. Every morning we made coffee and sat on beach. The beach was quite all week and fun in the weekend. There's a wonderful little restaurant, La Serena, steps from the property and a bar with Salsa Lessons and lots of fun in the weekend just a few steps farther. Even on the party nights everyone was pretty much done by 8pm. Short drive to whatever you need. Needed to go the health clinic once. It was perfect. We wanted for nothing.

Great house but noisy surroundings

We really loved the house, the staff on site who helped us out with laundry etc and the owner who was very nice and responsive. The house is right across the beach so we were super excited when we arrived. But the next day (Saturday) there were tens of cars and many many people showing up. The beach was so busy we couldn’t even go. Lots of music too. We were quite surprised as we didn’t expect this. We did go to Cahuita park the next day and it was very nice and quieter. Both Saturday and Sunday were super busy and crowded at the beach across the house but Monday was better. Also if you walk past the little river, you end up on the actual Punta uva beach and it’s much quieter. We couldn’t swim because the ocean was very rough. But I want to say that if you are looking for a nice place with lots of liveliness, this is the place for you! We are just people who love to be in quiet/ natural places. The yard of the house was amazing though, with tons of animals, monkeys, birds, hummingbirds, etc. we cooked a lot and ate outside and it was lovely. Just a little too noisy for us…

Great location with lots of wildlife and directly across from the beach. Pleasantly surprised with AC in each room. The space worked perfectly for 7 adults. There are no self service laundry on site however the host offers the property manager to wash your clothes. The stay overall was great. The last night stayed the racoons kept us up most of the night and even tried getting in our bathroom.

Sehr schönes Haus, wirklich nur 50 Meter von Strand entfernt. Den Strand empfanden wir als einen der schönsten ist der Umgebung. Der direkt bei Puerto Viejo ist beispielsweise nicht so schön. Wir haben Brüllaffen und ein Faultier im Garten gesehen (allerdings auf sehr hohem Bäumen). Das Haus hat drei schöne Schlafzimmer und eine Außenkuche die zu einer Seite hin offen ist. Alvaro, der sich vor Ort um alles kümmert ist sehr nett. Er ist Koch und hat uns an einem Abend sogar etwas gekocht. Man sollte lediglich beachten, dass am Wochenende wirklich viele Einheimische zum Strand kommen und dann recht viel los ist. Wir sind beispielsweise Samstag Nachmittags angereist. Hier war die schmale Zufahrtsstraße derart blockiert, dass wir unseren Wagen 300 Meter vorher haben stehen lassen und ihn später erst geholt haben als sich der Stau gelegt hatte. Ansonsten wirklich sehr zu empfehlen !

This house is the perfect location for a beach vacation in Punta Uva. Check-in was a breeze but it helps to know there is a sign at the property with its name (ask the owner for it). There are a lot of restaurants in the area with plenty of transportation options. Check out the Jaguar rescue nearby (note: there are no jaguars there but plenty of other animals to learn about). We enjoyed having AC in the lower bedroom and hanging out on the upper balcony watching wildlife. Su and Alvaro were excellent hosts and helped us with a variety of needs. We can't want to come back. Just perfect.

Juan's place is beautifully landscaped right on the beach. Sue and Alvaro were very welcoming and helpful with any needs.We loved the location and the amount of wildlife we saw while staying there. It was very comfortable for our group of 7. I will definitely stay here again when in the area.

Álvaro and Sue were very sweet people and were quick to help us with anything we needed. The backyard had so much wildlife even more than when we visited the cahuita national park. The location is good because it’s far from puerto viejo (which is not a cute town) and a 30 second walk to the beach, but not very close to the grocery store if you don’t have a car. Some suggestions: The kitchen lacks some cooking basics (spices, containers, few cooking utensils). Downstairs has air conditioning but upstairs gets fairly hot since they just have a ceiling fan.

Su ubicación es lo mejor. A menos de 50m de la mejor playa de la zona. Ni tan cerca de la playa lo cual brinda privacidad, pero ni tan lejos ya que caminando se tarda un minuto en llegar a la playa. Tanto los dueños como el personal a cargo siempre estuvo atento. Dentro de la propiedad vimos guatusas, perezosos y lapas verdes: IMPRESIONANTE. Volveremos sin duda alguna. Gracias Juan, Fannia, Sugey y Alvaro.

Beautiful home perfect beachfront location

Juan's home and our stay in Punta Uva was the best part of our entire trip in Costa Rica. It is directly across from a beautiful golden sand beach, quick walk to restaurants and a gelato truck, very short driving or biking distance to grocery stores. So convenient to the buzz of Puerto Viejo but far enough to feel more peaceful. So many beautiful flowers and wildlife on the property, clean modern home with perfect indoor/outdoor living. Plenty of seating room for our group of 8 (4 adults, 4 kids) and comfortable beds and private baths for everyone. The home is exactly as pictured but it's even more beautiful than it looks. Juan was very communicative and Su and Alvaro incredibly helpful and welcoming onsite. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking (even a blender for smoothies with local tropical fruits!) and we were thankful to be able to do some laundry onsite too. Can't recommend it highly enough and really hope to return someday!

Superbe maison

L’endroit est fabuleux. Nous avons passé de belles vacances en famille. Se réveiller aux sons des singes hurleurs et des vagues est tout simplement merveilleux. L’hôte est très réactif et me demande si j’ai besoin de quelque chose avant même que je lui demande. Sue et Alvaro qui s’occupe de la maison et qui habitent derrière sont très gentils et discrets. Ils nous aidé. Vraiment un endroit à recommander. Pura vida

Natural and beautiful

Waking up to so many sights and sounds was amazing. Something new every day. Beaches were gorgeous - reef in front has great snorkeling. Super clear water - visibility 30 feet down to see a huge stingray blinking eyes at me. Quirky town with some great food. Everyone is friendly and nice. Wonderful stay. Property manager was attentive and awesome.
