I’m really not the type to leave negative reviews but after no response in 10 days from the resort, I feel obligated to make others aware of our stay.
#1.) Front Desk Supervisor, Dennise, reached out post stay to advise us of a small stain on the comforter that they would be charging us $72 for. While I do not doubt the kids caused this stain, I didn’t agree with the charge as there was a handful of issues we dealt with at the property (see below). After replying twice to the manager, I still have not received a response. It’s now been 10 days.
Here were our issues:
- Toilet right of the front door had an issue with flushing. The water kept running. We stopped using it after the first day.
- Twin beds didn’t have guard rails. We didn’t allow our kids to actually sleep up there as we felt it was dangerous for the littles.
- Lock on master bedroom didn’t work
- Water leaked through master glass door the night of the storm
- No propane in the grill. Makes it tricky when your driving in from the US.
- Broken silverware drawer
- Broken drawer in fridge
- Broken ottoman
- Slanted stove
- Hot water issues with the shower and kitchen sink. Kitchen sink water would take a very long time to get warm. The shower knobs didn’t align with the temperature and was almost impossible to get hot.
- Very slow WiFi. Not ideal when traveling internationally. Caused excessive data usage on our cellular plans.
- Loose front door rattling all night
- All of our guests were asleep and woken up by someone banging on the front door at 11:30 pm one night. No peep hole. Too scared to sleep well that night.
- Dead bird in the gym
- Lots of miscommunication of what pools were heated and which ones kids were allowed.
We had a great time in Puerto Penasco despite the circumstances. Just won’t be returning to this resort.
