Simple place, amazing views

We first arrived after hours and it was dark outside. The keys and a map were taped to the window as promised. The directions and map definitely needs updating, it took four of us a few uturns to find the random driveway. Its not very well marked and when you pull in the area looks abandoned, especially in the dark. We finally found the one with La Gaviota marked above the garage but partially covered by a light. Then walking down a long dark hallway to a door that opens to a strange coutyard. My family thought we were being pranked lolAlas, we got to the front door which has two handles to get in which was weird. Then we were relieved to find the cozy condo behind the door. We dropped everything and immediately went outside to the amazing smell and sounds of the ocean!! Sitting on the patio Watching the birds and listening to the waves is one of the best feelings!! The ac stopped working when we were there and someone showed up promptly to fix the issue:) Its within walking distance to 2 beach bars which is nice and theres all kinds of stuff being sold on the beach. We bought some nice wooden beach tables that a dad and daughter made, tamales from Mari who was selling food in the early morning:) The tidepools in the morning are amazing and you can see locals searching for goodies. Close to the malecon for shopping and fresh seafood. We cooked fresh shrimp on the bbq on the patio. (Was difficult with the wind) but tasted amazing We will definitely stay here again!!

The location was great.We felt very safe there and loved having a garage to park the car in. There was no toaster for making toast, so I let the management company know, and about fifteen minutes later they showed up with a brand new toaster in the box for us! We had some trouble with the lock on the door however, again, the management company was there within ten minutes to fix the problem. The twin beds in the smaller bedroom are super comfortable, but the Queen bed in the master bedroom is horrible. It's too bad. They wouldn't the splurge on a new mattress, because this is not the first time it has been mentioned about that mattress being really bad. It was so bad, my guest preferred to sleep on the couch Instead, so nobody slept in the master bedroom due to the bad mattress. Everything else was phenomenal and I definitely would go back but next time I would bring some foam with me for the bed. Lol

Two friends at the beach

The property was clean and well stocked. Were happy to provide extra paper towels snd coffee filters. Aoril weather was perfect, with Dolphins swimming by each morning and a neighborhood seal who im told, hangs out . The beach out the front door was rocky but many able to swim.we had the beach pretty much all to ourselves until late afternoon when families brought their kids after school. We cooked all our meals , buying fresh fish & shrimp every morning at the market. Need I say more? If there was any drawback. It was the less than friendly neighbor who lives next door with dogs who were not on leashes and were allowed to defecate on the beach and it not picked up . Not cool. Aside from that, the best beach vaca for the money!

La Gaviota! Puerto Penasco

Great air conditioning, right on the beach. Walked out to ocean. Comfortable beds. Netflix. Great neighbors. Walking distance to Manny’s and The Pit. Safe area. Large garage. No iron or ironing board. No hair dryer. No broom but there were 2 dust pans. Needs to have updated stove. Couldn’t tell what temp oven was on!! Very easy check in and check out.

Cute casita!

We loved this place! I read some reviews about it being older or tired looking and sure, it's not super modern (which I hate) but it's a liitle beach house on the ocean. Sometimes, I do not know what people expect. We thought it was perfect and charming. The people in Oceano's office were very nice and helpful. We had great neighbors while we were there who fished a lot with my partner. We caught fish every day and grilled them up on the patio. The tide pools provided endless entertainment for me, a 42 year old woman. We saw so many little creatures! This beach is not super soft sugar sand like Florida, but more granular with tons of really cute shells. The rocks can make swimming difficult at a lower tide but no problems at high tide! Right down the beach you can hit Manny's and sit in their pool with cocktails if it is not a good swimming day. We did not have any water issues while we were there but we are also pretty conservative in our water usage naturally. Anyway, we will be back!

Loved it!

Great location right on the beach between Mannys and the Pitaya bars and restaurants. You can walk the beach to either. Loved the security of the garage entrance to the courtyard and into the condo. Close the garage door and car is safe as well as the condo. My little 10 lb dog was in heaven there.

Great location

June 2023 - Some areas for improvement included: Mattresses were not comfortable, no coffee pods, no chaise lounges, and other stuff fom pictures were missing, cooking pans and other kitchen stuff were not great, Kitchen drawers fall out... Positives included: Wood furniture is nice Ceiling fans are great AC works good Great view and location on beach Halfway between Manny's and Pitaya beach bars. You can walk out of condo to patio, then you're on sand and the beach!!

Very short on amenities

As a host myself house needs fixing up maintenance wise. Curtain rod in master bath needs replaced. Mattress is warm out and needs to be changed out. Stove needs replaced as the burners don't get hot properly. No lids for pans. Grill outside was very rusted and not safe to cook directly on. Otherwise it's a great location.

The door to the beach was so unsure. The screen was broken the silden door had a plastic pole to lockit .the toilet was broken had to put my hand in to pull the hande.on the pump. The refrigerator was dripping water .thierwas broken tales on the floor .doors where hard to closed .the towels wher dirty. Looked like the place was not clean ....the view was wonderful
