I would say the property is as pictured and as described. The overall price for what you get is not aligned; in my opinion, this should cost much less than it does. It was also a longer drive from town than I would have preferred (see below).
Here are the issues we had:
1. Not having cell phone service to get in contact on the way there. It is a 20-30 minute drive on sand/rock roads after Puerto Jimenez, with huge pot holes and divots, extremely rough on the vehicle and us as passengers. I ended up dreading any time we had to go to town for a tour/food.
2. No A/C. It states it is open air, but it was still a shock to try and sleep with only a fan in 90 degree weather
3. No curtains. Two bedrooms face the sunrise, so you can be guaranteed to be up early as the 6 am sun comes in
4. Noise. There are only mesh screens, so the macaws coming in around 5-5:30 AM (while beautiful!) are extremely noisy, dropping almonds on the tin roof and squawking right outside the rooms
5. Not alone. VRBO is meant to be your party only on the property. However, one of the hosts was always around. That was unexpected.
Here were things we enjoyed:
1. Ocean. Easy walk to the ocean from the property.
2. Kitchen. We bought food at grocery store and could prepare simple things like PBJ sandwiches and drinks.
3. Turtles. Manual allowed me to help him release baby turtles on the morning of my birthday, which was really special.
4. Rooms/bathrooms. Each bedroom had a small bathroom with sink, shower and toilet. Always nice to have a cold shower in the extreme heat.
