Cutest Little Place
My wife & I took our 2 dogs with us to celebrate our 24th anniversary. The comfort of the cabin as you pull up & walk in is fantastic! The outside is pleasantly decorated with plenty of room for parking. Once you walk in, the decor keeps on going. From nice log furniture to a BEAUTIFUL stone fireplace with a gas log for a perfect fire every Tim to quilted blankets. The bedrooms are small but very comfortable beds. Roku TV, full size refrigerator, and a toaster oven. The only disappointments would be that there was no stove, the bathroom was VERY small and the running water was not good (had an odor and tasted bad). The outside had a really nice fire pit and was landscaped well. The cabin is about a 10 minute walk down to the lake (which is beautiful!). The owner of the property was extremely helpful with letting my wife and I know about some of the better restaurants in the area as well as other amenities. Overall, it was the best place I have stayed for the price.

Nice Little Cabin
The little cabin had a lot of charm and the host provided pretty much everything we needed (we particularly appreciated a well-stocked kitchen of pans, dishes, etc). There isn’t a lot privacy - it’s small and the walls are thin. But it had just the woodsy vibe we wanted at a great price, and we were able to fit ourselves and four small children in for a nice week of hanging out, skiing, and swimming at a nearby indoor pool. We would be happy to return and stay again.

Weekend stay February 2nd and 3rd
Very cute cabin, but a few things were disappointing. There are no doors on the two bedrooms, just curtains that hang to about a foot off the floor. The double bed is wedged into a corner, so my husband was against the wall and had a very difficult time in the night getting up to go to the bathroom. The bathroom was terrible. Barely enough room to sit on the toilet, & no room for toiletries, like blow dryer/makeup. The water was yellow and smelled. I knew it would be well water, but it was bad. There was an annoying drip in the shower that my husband fixed for our second night. Took one shower & it was very cramped & low water pressure. We ended up sleeping in the twin bedroom the second night so my husband could get out of bed at night. It was very cheap but the cleaning fee was 2x the nightly charge.. If I had known all this I would have paid a higher price for more comfortable accommodations. It is very cute, but they need to either update or let people know about the bathroom and bedrooms.

Beautiful Cabin!
We had a great time relaxing in this beautiful cabin. It's if we went back in time with the log and knotty pine interior. Close to everything you might need nearby, including the Walmart up the street. The porch was a great place to sit and read a book or two and stayed pretty warm during the winter storm. The kitchen had everything we needed with pots/pans, microwave and coffee maker. Communication with the owner was fantastic and she was available if we needed anything. I would highly recommend this property for anyone looking to stay in a quaint, nostalgic up north cabin.

The Best of Both Worlds
Cozy cabin nestled in wooded lot makes you feel like you’re in the UP. Yet Houghton Lake, golf courses, and all imaginable amenities within a few minutes. Our hostess, Debra, was very accommodating. We had our wedding ceremony nearby and stayed at the cabin for a low key, relaxing honeymoon. It was the best. We will definitely be staying here again.

The Perfect Getaway
We've been to this cabin once before and it never ceases to amaze me. The property is beautiful. It's a short walk to the boat launch and only a mile or two to the beach. The log cabin gives off a nostalgic feeling. My favorite place is the reading nook. It's mostly windows and you can snuggle up in the recliner with a book and a cup of coffee and see the trees all around you. We got to meet Deb and she is very kind and thoughtful. This is quickly becoming our annual "up north" vacation spot!

Cozy family getaway!
This cabin is adorable! It's the perfect environment for relaxing after a day of exploring, with all the decor and personal touches of a true "cabin in the woods" experience. Even if it rains, you'll enjoy soaking in the serenity of the weather from the sun porch or in front of the cozy fireplace. The only downfall for our family with a toddler was that it doesn't have a tub, only a shower, so bathtime was difficult.

Great Getaway
My family and I had one of the most relaxing vacations. This place is perfect for that getaway you were looking for! The host even went out of her way to make sure we could watch our baseball games as we’re huge baseball fans. The back yard is perfect for grilling breakfast, lunch, & dinner. The fire pit is a huge plus. The cabin itself was comfy and cozy. We will definitely be going back and recommend this place to anyone!

Great little spot
Had a great weekend in the Houghton Lake area. Place was small, but we were using it as a place to mostly sleep so it met all my requirements. Did have an issue with comfort of the full size bed as it was a bit lumpy. Interior was fairly clean and plenty of dishes and cookware to use. Debra was very responsive to any questions I had regarding the property and gave me plenty of helpful tips for the hot days. My only main gripe was the back patio area was very dirty. I was excited to eat outside when we BBQ, but the furniture and patio area was just to dirty. All in all enjoyed are stay.

Thank you for your feedback Patrick, it's greatly appreciated. I am working on getting the mattress's upgraded and getting the exterior cleaned up on the patio. Hi Patrick, thank you again for your insight. The cabin now has all new mattresses and bedding.. I’m personally making sure the patio is kept up. Next improvement will be a new sleeper sofa! Deb

New Years Eve with Friends
Was a lovely property only problem was the kitchen. My friend and I are professional bakers who planned a weekend of baking together for our Instagram page. There was only a toaster oven. We brought all our own equipment for baking and cooking for the weekend, stand mixers, bakeware and so forth. We made cookies in the toaster oven but that was the extent of our creative baking weekend. It was still a enjoyable stay oveall.

Glad to hear that you had a good time with friends for The New Year Marilyn. Wow, nice, professional bakers, sorry we are not set up for that. Although I did see a photo of your cookies that came out of the toaster/convection oven. I might not be a professional baker, however I am pretty impressed. I do believe my video walk through is pretty detailed, along with my photos. I would never have imagined someone would consider my kitchen for professional baking, however I would imagine those cookies tasted great. Happy New Year!

The Woodlands retreat is adorable. Sherry has thought of everything and the cabin is so cute. The only thing that could have made our stay better was to stay longer...but there's always a next time.

Short Holiday Weekend
This little cabin is cute as a button! It is exactly as written and pictured in the listing. My husband and I stayed 3 nights and explored the area. Walked down to the “water” although is was February so no water to be found! The walk and the lake were still beautiful! We will definitely be back!

Place was as pictured! Food, drinks, hiking, lake activities are all close. Perfect for 2 people but might be tight with more as the bathroom is slightly cramped. The place has well water but host provided drinking water. Host was responsive and helpful!

The water has a lot of iron in it. The cabin was very cute. The beds were not very comfortable. It also smelled really musty when we first got there until we opened it up and aired it out. I wouldn’t stay here again for the money I felt it should have been a better stay

Wonderful Getaway
Such a cute "up north" feel. The backyard was our favorite, it was perfect. We spent time there relaxing and explored Houghton Lake & Higgins Lake. Location is perfect for going and doing things in the area.

Perfect weekend getaway
We really enjoyed our weekend stay at this quaint, cozy and tastefully decorated cabin. Inside and out. It had everything we needed to enjoy a weekend away from home. The host was great and provided a helpful guestbook with heartfelt, hand-written tips on how to operate the fireplace, tv, appliances, lights and other things. It was easy to quickly settle in and feel at home. We enjoyed nights outside around the fire pit on the beautifully landscaped grounds, and morning coffee in the front area of the cabin sitting in comfy recliners, surrounded by windows, exposing all of Michigan’s up north beauty. It was a very pleasant stay.
