Back again!

This is our go to vacation home once again! Fourth time! Our host is very accommodating and always available to answer any questions. The most complete kitchen I have ever experienced! No problem cooking ...the view of the lake makes cooking a pleasure. This the best, most beautiful and relaxing experience EVER!

Cozy retreat with every modern amenity!

House was wonderful with everything we needed for our week long stay! Very comfortable and exceptionally clean! The landscaping and grounds and beautiful and enjoyable to either sit by the fire pit or just hang around on the dock! Location is fantastic being minutes from great restaurants and downtown. Would definitely recommend this lovely home!

One more stay

We had 3 couples that stayed at the house all of us loved the house how it was equipped with what we needed, could sit on the deck in the morning with coffee enjoying the sun rise and enjoy an evening fire on the patio below. The lake was more of a quiet lake to relax and fish which some enjoyed doing. It was a little challenging for some to get to the lake as there were 42 steps to go down, not real good for a few who had health issues. All in all it was wonderful.

Wonderful Week In The Northwoods!

We had a very comfortable and fun stay at this property with 6 adults and a dog. The property was beautiful, well appointed and very clean. A lot of thought was put into providing comfortable outdoor spaces, and a nice bonus was finding outdoor games, beach towels, swim noodles, etc… for our use. Nice dock for swimming and sunning as well as space for our fishing boat. The owner is also very responsive via text. 100% would recommend!

Another perfect stay!

Our second time at Winman House and it was once again fabulous. The house has everything you need. The dock is located just right for morning sunrise with coffee. And, so is the deck! The griddle top grill is perfect for all types of dining! The fire pit area and landscaping are beautiful. Can’t say enough great things about this place. Thank you!

Family Getaway

Very comfortable and cute place. The updated outdoor space was very nice o too! We did everything from play board games, sight seeing, fishing, swimming, and more fishing. Our boat rental was easily tied up to the dock right out front which was very convenient. Great communication.

Everything we could want in a place...just needed snow!

This was a great place for a family of 5 and could see it working for a couple of families or larger group. The layout is great for cooking/eating/hanging out. Most everything is remodeled and works great. The water had no taste of iron or sulfur, sometimes hard to find up here. The games, TVs, and Wi-Fi all made for great entertainment time. Other than Old Man Winter not cooperating, there's nothing to grumble about with this property. Thanks for a great stay!

Return to Winman

We once again enjoyed our retreat to the Northern Wisconsin territory! Our "home away from home" is the perfect place to relax and rewind. Everything (and I mean everything) that you could possible need is supplied by our host. Best stocked kitchen I've encountered! And the lake view is unmatched! We enjoyed hearing the loons calling out on the lake. Beautiful!

Peaceful Place

Enjoyed the stay at this home very much, very relaxing with a great view. Well equipped kitchen and baths. Cozy and comfortable house. The only tiny little thing I would have liked is a canoe or kayaks, however we did rent some so it wall worked out. I would stay again!

Great time in the Northwoods!

Cabin and property was clean and well-stocked with all the essentials for a low-stress getaway in the Northwoods. Backyard was great in the evenings by the fire pit. Early mornings were often spent fishing for panfish off the dock. Within a short drive of a coffee shop (Dixie’s), hikes for waterfalls, lumberjack show, beach, and many other adventures.

Beautiful property and home

We had a great family vacation in this home. Quality time was on the top of my list of things to do and we got just that. Mornings spent together cooking breakfast together in the very accommodating kitchen, afternoons spent on the dock fishing or swimming (also rented a pontoon boat and spent a couple days out on the lake) and our evenings were spent grilling out and eating on the deck together and every night was spent around the beautiful firepit playing card games and making smores. Darren was very responsive to any questions we had prior to our stay and during our stay. Neighbors were friendly and my husband had a couple good chats with them while out walking our dog Bentley that was also able to come on vacation with us. I hope we are able to stay again here in the future.

Amazing house on a beautiful lake!

Our stay at this property was absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for a treat. We were a little nervous coming from previously renting on a “no-wake” lake, but this location was so quiet and private! Morning sunrises were incredible. Highly recommend getting up early and taking your morning coffee down on the dock. We brought paddle boards and thoroughly enjoyed paddling into both ends of the lakes. We saw loons, eagles, deer, heard sounds of coyotes in the distance, a GIANT snapping turtle during our stay. The Northern Lights made a showing along with a sky-full of stars. We took a drive on a rainy day up to the UP to see the falls at Presque Isle Park. Absolutely breathtaking. And, the drive is beautiful! If you’re into biking, you can take 2nd street straight out, turn left on J and you’ll come right out and Winman and the paved trail system! The house itself is lovely and perfect for 6 adults plus kids. The kitchen has all the gadgets you need. The new griddle grill was amazing! The dock is sturdy and large with steps down to the clear water where you can swim out to an awesome raft. The firepit area is lovely and we loved the new furniture. Beds were super comfy, the fact that there is AC is a plus (although we didn’t need it). It is clear that this is Darren’s pride and joy! We are grateful to have had the opportunity to spend time there and are planning our return!

Great cabin on a beautiful lake!

Very nice cabin on a great lake. View is beautiful. Excellent outdoor area. Although a little small in the dining area, it served our group of eight people nicely. There is outside dining too. Very nicely decorated and it has a backup generator which is fantastic since the town power went out for a few hours. No electrical disruption to us at all. Great cabin for a family.

Winman Excursion

Beautiful cabin with plenty of room for three couples; you could fit more with the bunk bed and extra twin in the basement. We had a 10 month old and she did great, we found that the upstairs bedrooms muffled the noises enough if we hung out downstairs. Wi-Fi made it easy to work and I could get on my company’s VPN which can have issues on slower internet providers. We kept a pontoon on the dock, the Turtle chain is great, and you can get a 24ft pontoon through the tunnel between South and North Turtle. If you like mountain biking or trail riding, you’re so close to miles and miles of trails at Winman or the paved trails around Manitowish Waters. The fishing on the lake was great, the cabin was great, the sunsets were gorgeous, and the furniture was comfortable. We had a very relaxing week.

Sisters week in the Northwoods

We absolutely loved our stay at this home! We enjoyed hiking, biking, boating, fishing and everything else the Northwoods has to offer in the summer. We would for sure rent this home again, it was fully stocked with everything we needed and more and the communication with the host was great!

Magical March Getaway

We had such an amazing time! Our first night we got to see the Northern Lights, which was a first for all of us. We made a ton of great memories. We went sledding at Winman Trails and cooked dinner at the house. It was a special place and we will be back again soon! Thank you for opening up your home to us.

Fabulous house

Spent our 30th Anniversary on this property, as our honeymoon location no longer existed. It was perfect! Darren is the perfect host and his home is fabulous. Everything you need down to the last detail. We even had a group of deer come visit us in the evenings. We were sad to leave but looking forward to returning.

Christmas stay

This was a very nice cabin on a nice lake. We received lots of snow but still had plenty of things to do. They have some towns close by tjst are very nice and have plenty of things to do.I would recommend this place for 2 family's.
