  • Welcome to State 48 Retreat Prescott Arizona. Do you need to get away from it all? Get some woods around you? Take a hike, go kayaking, go biking, or just sit on the deck watch the wildlife and the world go by.

    This quiet getaway is conveniently located 10 minutes from Whiskey Row and Historic Downtown. Prescott is a city that is rich with history and charm. We are 30 minutes to Goldwater, Watson and Lynx Lakes. Like to hike? Go hiking right off of the deck and into Prescott National Forest.

Amazing experience ever, really recommend this location, is located close to all the Amazing places that Prescott Az had to offer. The cabin is a little place away from home, is clean, cozy, big enough for all my family, the host was awesome they took the time to place decorations for the 4th of July, and that little touch make us feel like home. Thank you.

So lovely. Very well maintained, all seemed like new. Plenty of extra bedding for cold nights and the pellet stove was very effective! Handy having a bedroom and bathroom on the main floor with the kitchen and living space.

Great location, you are slightly out of town enough to feel like you are out in the forest but close enough that it is easy to meet up with folks. The overall setup of the place was great and it was nice and cool even though we were getting towards mid 90s during the day. There was only two of us, but definitely think you could comfortably fit another couple. We would stay there again!

Beautiful Cabin in the Woods

I booked this accommodation last minute as me and Friends decided to get out of the hot weather in Phoenix. The whole process was very smooth working with Greg and the cabin was very well-kept and clean. We enjoyed our entire time at the cabin and patio. We had a great time in Prescott and would definitely stay again.

this is a nice cabin

here is super clean and nice , we have a wonderful day. location is very convenience. safeway around 10mins , costco and trade joe around 15mins.

Relaxing stay in the woods

Easily accessible. Located in a neighborhood; there are other homes next to the property, but we had no issues with noise. Clean and comfortable.

Nice forest experience

The cabin was very nice and well appointed. They thouggt of everything. Being backed up against the forest was lovely.I didn't realize it was in a residential area and others would be so close though... and the parking and ingress/egress was challenging, especially at night and the 2 days we had two cars.

Very Quiet and Peacable

Though we live in Prescott we wanted to get away from the noise and activity that pervades our neighborhood. This house fit the bill perfectly. Relatively remote without being too far from town, very quiet neighborhood, forest access to one side, and simple but sufficient amenities within. Seeing all the wildlife around was a big bonus.

We loved this cabin, the location, privacy, and views. The cabin is extremely well equipped, with more equipment kitchen-wise than we've ever seen in a rental. The kitchen is modern and upgraded, as are the baths. It was just the two of us and we did not use the upstairs at all with the exception at my guy used the bathroom sink as it is a little more spacious than the first floor bath sink! We should have followed the owner's directions because GPS took us in a really strange (long) route to get there. We realized after we arrived that his directions were perfect. About 12 minutes to downtown Prescott! The deck is spacious and partly covered, so if you want sun or shade you have your choice. There were some very small items that perhaps needed attention, but they did not detract from what was overall a really great experience. We would definitely book this cabin again next time we head to Prescott.

Quiet, Cozy, Relaxing Cabin Getaway

Our stay was exactly what we were looking for: a quiet, cozy cabin in the pines and mountains of Prescott National Forest. We had relaxing, slow mornings drinking coffee out on the patio watching for wildlife and listening to the birds. We cozied up on the couch and had great family time. The property was very clean, welcoming, and fully stocked with everything we needed! It was also very close to Prescott - a quick 10 or 15 minute drive! We would definitely book to stay here again. Highly recommend!

Perfect Cabin

The cabin is tucked away at the end of the road and feels very private. It's cozy, but not small, with farmhouse decor and comfy furniture. I was surprised at how well stocked the kitchen was with spices, condiments, utensils, etc. We enjoyed our morning coffee, a glass of wine and dinners on the deck. We only turned the TV on once! We had a great, relaxing time (even with a six year old grandson) and are looking forward to coming back soon.

48 state cabin

Overall, the property is as described....the cabin is well maintained and very clean...the bedding and towels were clean and fresh..the kitchen and appliances were updated and clean..deck is partially covered with adequate seating...the cabin is located in a residential setting surrounded by other near by homes...it is a very quiet setting however...the host/owner, Greg, was very prompt in responding to our text inquiries...yes, we would be stay again!! Thanks, Greg and Tawnya..

This is a cute cabin in a pleasant location. Nestled in the mountains, far enough from the city activities but close enough for groceries, restaurants, nightlife.Well appointed kitchen, comfortable beds, beautiful deck space.It needs to be mentioned that there is a colony of bats roosting just above the outdoor deck, and during our rental (August 15 - 18, 2025), there was a significant amount of bat droppings on the deck below their roost. The owner has been made aware of this. My overall rating is lower because of this issue only.
