    In the heart of the picturesque village of Faial da Terra, on the island of São Miguel, you will find this carefully restored century-old house, where history and contemporary life meet in perfect harmony. With a privileged view over the stream, the sea and the surrounding mountains, this space invites you to slow down and immerse yourself in the tranquillity of Azorean nature.

    Once the headquarters of the parish council and the village dispensary, this house carries a unique legacy, deeply rooted in local history. Its rehabilitation, led by Azorean architect Wilson Melo, respected the original design, preserving the identity of the building while introducing contemporary comfort and functionality.

    The result is a space of simple, elegant and carefully considered lines, where every detail reflects balance, serenity and good taste.

    Ideal for families or travellers seeking a peaceful retreat with a touch of refinement, this accommodation features a spacious open-plan dining room with kitchen and two fantastic living rooms. Both living rooms are equipped with a sofa and television, making it the perfect space to relax and enjoy the internet available throughout the house. In one of the rooms, the sofa is a sofa bed, which can accommodate two additional guests.

    The fully equipped kitchen is ideal for preparing all your daily meals and ensuring an excellent culinary experience. In addition to crockery and essential utensils, it features various practical appliances to assist you in your daily life.

    The wonderful outdoor space invites moments of leisure, allowing you to easily gather with family outdoors to enjoy dinners under the stars and make the most of the region's climate. This lovely area also features a barbecue.

    The sleeping area is arranged harmoniously and privately, featuring two beautifully decorated bedrooms equipped with double beds and wardrobes to store your belongings. The master bedroom is a comfortable suite, ensuring maximum privacy.

    The 2 bathrooms are fully equipped with all amenities, including towels and toiletries for your convenience.

    For security purposes, the property has a video surveillance system at the exterior entrances.

    Please note that this property has stairs and is therefore not recommended for people with reduced mobility.

    The space is always professionally cleaned.

    Located in the picturesque and peaceful parish of Faial da Terra, affectionately known as the "Nativity Scene of the Island", this accommodation offers you the perfect retreat in the heart of the lush nature of São Miguel. The energy of this neighbourhood is a pure invitation to disconnect and relax, marked by the serene sound of the stream that runs through the village, the lush green of the mountains and the proximity to the sea. Step outside and you are just moments away from some of the most stunning landscapes and trails in the Azores. It is impossible not to highlight the iconic walk to the majestic Salto do Prego waterfall or the ascent to the mythical and restored village of Sanguinho — truly unforgettable natural experiences.

    Although this is an oasis of tranquillity set in the south-eastern coast of the island, its location allows you to reach the vibrant centre of Ponta Delgada via an incredibly scenic car journey. Driving along roads lined with hydrangeas and breathtaking viewpoints, you will easily reach the Azorean capital. There, you can explore the iconic Portas da Cidade, stroll along the pleasant marina, visit the Graça Market or embark on an exciting whale and dolphin watching adventure, before returning to your peaceful paradise.

    Beyond the connection to the capital, this address is a fantastic logistical base for exploring the great treasures of the eastern side of São Miguel. In a short and beautiful drive, you will reach the historic village of Povoação (the first settlement on the island, famous for its traditional sweets) or the stunning municipality of Nordeste, known for its dramatic cliffs and flower-lined viewpoints. Just around 30 minutes away lies the magical Furnas valley, where you can soak in the iron-rich thermal waters of Terra Nostra Park or Poça da Dona Beija, and marvel at the famous Cozido das Furnas, slowly cooked in the volcanic heat of the earth!

    Access to the property is mainly by car, and we recommend renting a vehicle to explore the island with greater convenience. The EN1-1A road connects Faial da Terra to the main towns of São Miguel.

    The city of Ponta Delgada, the island's capital and main urban centre, is approximately 40 to 50 minutes away by car, where most services, restaurants and shops are located.

    João Paulo II Airport in Ponta Delgada is approximately 45 to 55 minutes by car. Taxis and transfers are available upon prior booking.

    This is a self check-in property and you will be asked to verify your identity before being able to check in (16:00). We ask all guests to fill in a registration form that will be sent after booking confirmation, in accordance with the legal obligations stipulated by the local authorities in Portugal.

    There is a zero-tolerance policy for smoking on the property. If any evidence is found of tobacco smell, ashes, cigarette butts, etc., we reserve the right to charge a minimum fee of €200 EUR.

    For the first days, we provide the following basic amenities: small containers of shower gel, shampoo and soap, toilet paper, kitchen roll, sponge, dish soap and a bin bag.

    Extra cleaning: price of one cleaning fee.
