(1) The desk attendant was fine. (2) The maid service was annoying. I never had previously experienced a maid service banging on my door exactly at check out time -- and then after my saying I was on my way out in a few minutes -- another coming by and doing exactly the same thing. It seemed unsettling and disturbing. I would anticipate there being at least a 15 minute grace period for guest check-out built in by the hotel management. (3) There was not an elevator. This really was a surprise. It may have been an issue if my bags had been heavier (or I did not have good strength), as well as my having a recent leg problem that -- thankfully -- was nearly resolved. I am uncertain if the info about stairway access only to guestrooms was noted on the website anywhere -- but upon my booking the room there was nothing obvious. (4) I appreciated that there was decent coffee available to make in the room; tho' it would have been an improvement if there had been a small personal pack of biscuit cookies or something as well, particularly given there was no breakfast available on-site.

Security personnel stationed at every hotel exit - because the doors apparently did not lock when closed. Very sketchy people hanging around in the parking lot and lots of strange things going on in open hotel rooms near the office. I stay in a lot of hotels - this one was very sketchy and I felt very odd being there. I grabbed a few hours of much needed sleep and then left. I will not return to that hotel

Filthy beds, smelled like urine, one bed actually had urine in it, whole bed stained. Broker chairs in the room, shower chair broken and unsafe, handles in shower all loose and broken. Drains all clogged, floor sticky, counters dirty, furniture in bad shape. At least the tiles in the shower looked good.

If you ever want to know what it is like to stay in a motel in skid row, then come here for the experience. Sticky floors, stinky rooms which have lingering smells on your clothes after you leave, people smoking outside at all entrances, people randomly knocking on your door at all hours, empty shopping carts outside, and shifty people who are high as a kite, and all for the lovely high price of US$150.

When we first walked in, the hotel looked like a dive. The carpets were well-worn and dirty looking and there was that distinctive smell of 1970s-hotel room spray that never could cover up the smell of cigarette smoke. Our room was smoke-free, mostly updated, had a functional desk setup, good-sized mini fridge, and seemed clean. We had to return to the front desk twice to get the magnetic strip on the room keys to work. The fan couldn't drive out the sound of the people next door. It seemed like people were living there long-term. Front parking lot had dangerous hole only partly covered by plywood.
