Vrbo its self was cute and clean. Some furnishings could totally be updated (couch, bedding, AC units) but it did what it was supposed to do, be a place to stay one night before we headed back home from our Pennsylvania Vacation. The biggest thing we wanted to point out to others is the homeless people that are living on some steps in an alley a few steps away from the entrance of the vrbo. Definitely made us uneasy. A times there would be over 3 men hanging out/sleeping in this area all visible from the bedroom and downstairs side windows.

Yeungling's Relaxing Weekend

My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our quick trip the the Yeungling brewery on Saturday and had a fantastic relaxing night in town! The accommodations of the loft made for a great stay!!

A Little Piece of History

We came in for the Yuengling Light Lager Jogger 5K. The apartment is beautiful, updated and so very charming. We stayed all weekend to enjoy Pottsville. This apartment is in the heart of Pottsville so we walked to the breweries, the restaurants and to enjoy the architecture. The host communicated quickly and efficiently.

Cute place!

The property manager was easy to communicate with via the VRBO app and provided timely access information and additional recommendations.The property was perfectly appointed for a cozy stay. We were able to easily walk around town to see the sites. We truly enjoyed our time there and may consider returning another time of year.

We did not stay here after arriving. The pictures do not represent the property or the price per night. It is furnished with yard sale furniture and appliances. The toilet seat is so worn that that paint has worn off the rim you sit on exposing what is underneath. The bed has an old style spring frame that supports the mattress. When you lie on the bed the springs squeak each time you move. Its a very tired place and reminiscent of a rooming house more than a vacation property. I tried to negotiate a refund because it was unacceptable but was unsuccessful. Without a doubt the poorest VRBO property we have ever visited.

Good

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The location is great. Tucked away within a very short walk of everything downtown has to offer. The accommodation is good - the top 2 floors of an old 3-storey building. Living floor (2) has kitchen and sitting room. Kitchen is ok. Living is ok. Bedroom is on 3rd floor- very spacious, nice wood floors, and views of surrounding area. Overall, I’d give this property 7 out of 10. Minus 1 star for the parking. It’s not “on site” as advertised. It’s across the street in a public lot. Despite what we were told, we got a parking ticket for parking in the exact spot that was described. Minus 1 star for the AC. The units on each floor are 6,000 BTU for floor areas of 450 sq ft. This is about 50% of what’s needed. As a result, the noisy units are coming on and off all the time; even on 75F days and 60F nights. Minus 1 star for landlord communication. We had to chase him for check-in instructions. We also had to chase him to handle the parking ticket we got for using the “onsite parking”. Also, I think he exaggerates things like the “outdoor spaces” which is a 4x2 foot balcony, overlooking the neighbors wall, which can hold 2 people max, standing up Blatant exaggeration.

Oasis in the heart of Pottsville

This is such a gem. It is centrally located making it easy to wander all over Pottsville. The apartment itself is steeped in history and has a very chill vibe. Exposed brick, high ceilings, and modern conveniences. We loved it. But if you cannot handle stairs, this is not the place for you. Appears to be a converted carriage house and it is a hike to get up to the first floor. We will be back.

Property was in the heart of downtown and looks to be the former carriage house to the large house to the side because you can still see a lot of the architectural elements. Well appointed and overall clean, my only advice would be to pack light because there’s a flight of stairs right when you enter and another to get up to the bedroom. I had overpacked for my stay, as usual, so I left my suitcase on the main floor to keep from straining myself. Lovely otherwise!
