  • Portsmouth, Ohio is the childhood home of Roy Rogers. This cowboy themed space is a great place for you to call home during your visit to Portsmouth and the Historic Boneyfiddle District. The rustic finishes give an old west feel and the location provides convenient access to much of what the area has to offer.

    You will be given a lockbox code for accessing the apartment during your stay. We live in the area and are available if needed but this unit is separate from our personal residence.

    Stay near the corner of Court & 2nd in Historic Boneyfiddle.

    Self check-in with the lockbox. There is a shared space where you have access to a washer and dryer.

Within walking distance to restaurants. Host checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Bed was comfortable. We would stay here again.

We found fun places to go. Treasure hunting in the antiques stores. Loved what they’ve done with the brewery. Absolutely found the rustic apartment adorable. Definitely my type of vibe. We would recommend this to our friends.

Everything was A-One as far as the management and facilities are concerned. Slight hiccups were handled properly and efficiently. This was our second stay at this property.

Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, we loved everything about the location, shops and restaurants within walking distance, and having a full apartment vs a dinky hotel room. Only downsides we observed: 1. even with the window AC and two mini splits running, temperatures were a little warm, might be a bit uncomfortable during the dog days of summer. 2. Allot of street noise in the bonnyfiddle district. It's a popular area for motor cycles and muscle cars with loud exhausts. 3. Change the low flow shower head!!! Plenty of city water pressure at all sinks, showering was less than satisfactory due to low water pressure. Hope this helps and doesn't deter, we truly enjoyed our stay.

We were very pleased with our accommodations. Clean and roomy, tastefully decorated and all things needed for a comfortable stay. We will probably be staying here again for another stay.

We enjoyed our stay in Portsmouth! It was very roomy,clean, and the host was wonderful. The only thing I would recommend is a new mattress for the sleeper sofa.

Rustic and quirky

This was a fun place to stay in Portsmouth. It was walking distance to shops, restaurants or a cup of coffee. The place was comfortable and clean.

Rustic but comfortable

The property is a little more rustic than I thought it would be but it is clean and conformable. Could have used a few more amenities like paper towels, tissues, and kitchen items. Dishes are china and I was afraid to use them in the microwave.

What A Great Stay!

My travel partner has never stayed in a Vrbo so this was my surprise for him. There are specifically two reasons I chose this place: 1) When I read why it was decorated in a rustic theme, I knew it was perfect bc my friend loved cowboys and Indians when he was a little boy. 2) No driving for two days! We were IN the historic district and could walk everywhere. We mainly came to shop for antiques. The apartment was quiet, comfortable, and we felt completely safe. Street parking right at the entrance was no problem. Highly recommend!

I was disappointed with this booking experience. The website stated that check-in instructions would be provided three days prior, but I never received them and had to contact customer service because I was unable to reach the host. Response times were consistently slow.More concerning, the host was aware of intermittent plumbing issues for at least two weeks but failed to disclose this before our arrival. Upon check-in, we discovered that the shower would not drain and the toilet was backed up. Multiple attempts to fix it with a plunger were unsuccessful.When I messaged the host, it took over an hour to receive a response. She stated she had tried to send a message earlier that day about the issue, but we never received anything. By the next morning, the problem had worsened significantly, with water overflowing and the entire house smelling of raw sewage. The only response we received was that it was “out of her control.”To make matters worse, we were refunded less than half of the total cost, which did not reflect the severity of the situation or the impact on our stay.The last message sent was asking for a reason why we weren’t issued a full refund and we never received a response. This is extremely disappointing and poor communication on the host. I was surprised since the previous reviews didn’t mention any issues.
