Lively Appt on the Square

Fantastic location, but very loud at night. Wonderful listening to music on the square. Clean space and met all of our needs but did wish the air conditioner worked better as it got hot at night with the windows closed to bring the noise down. All around amazing location and nice appt.

FILTHY & HOT

DO NOT STAY HERE! I wish I would have read all the previous reviews on this place prior to booking…it was so bad we checked out and returned home a day early. The A/C does not blow cold air. We requested the owners provide fans or repair the AC and they repeatedly refused to do either one. A member of their staff came in to check the AC and then called the owners to tell them it was not blowing cold and the owners responded telling us the staff member said it was working. Total lie. The shower has mold growing everywhere, the couch has stains all over it and old, dingy and stained towels were provided. Nasty. The elevator does not work and the front door code is the same as the room code. Serious safety concerns. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Excellent Location

I have to start by saying that this property is advertised with an elevator, but they should clearly say that before reaching the elevator there is a staircase with more than 20 high steps, which for a person with mobility limitations is extremely difficult. That said, this property is in the best location in Porto. The studio is beautiful, and pleasant (the sofa needs cleaning, it is full of stains), it smells good and, as I said, super well located. I recommend it to everyone who goes to Porto and does not have mobility problems. In short, an excellent choice to be in Porto....Tengo que comenzar diciendo que esta propiedad se anuncia con elevador, pero deberian decir claramentente que antes de llegar al elevador hay una escalera de mas de 20 altos escalones, lo cual para una persona con limitaciones de movilidad es sumamente dificultosa. Dicho esto, esta propiedad esta en la mejor locacion de Porto. El estudio es bello, y agradable ( el sofa necesita una limpieza esta lleno de manchas), huele bien y como ya dije super bien ubicado. Lo recomiendo a todo el que valla a Porto y no tenga proplemas de movilidad. En resumen una exelnte seelecion para estar en Porto....Je dois commencer par dire que cette propriété est annoncée avec un ascenseur, mais ils doivent clairement indiquer qu'avant d'atteindre l'ascenseur, il y a un escalier de plus de 20 marches hautes, ce qui est extrêmement difficile pour une personne à mobilité réduite. Cela dit, cette propriété est dans le meilleur

Perfect spot!

Perfect location! There is usually live music being played in the square so it can be a bit loud at night but we loved that aspect and just used our white noise app when we were ready for bed. The air conditioner is small so it has a hard time keeping the place cool, a fan would have been amazing to have. There was also no wine/bottle opener but the restaurant below was kind enough to help us out. I would definitely stay here again.

Great spot

Location was perfect for us. Right in the heart of all the action, so many restaurants, bakeries, shops, all within steps. We especially liked the live music outside on the street. Open up the doors to the courtyard and sit with a glass of wine and enjoy the live show in the comfort of your apartment. Would definitely recommend

No air conditioning

No air conditioning, no fan very uncomfortable stay without having air conditioning. According to the host and description of the property it has a working air conditioning. Upon arrival the air conditioning was broken. I contacted the host about the situation even ask for a fan the host did not provide. Due to the fact it’s a very busy square and loud it’s impossible to sleep with the balcony doors open because of the noise and parties downstairs. It was a disappointment to travel so far and trust what the host description advertisement. And get there and have to deal with this frustrating situation knowing that we could’ve stay anywhere else but choose this property to be disappointed. Another thing it looks like this situation has been ongoing as seen in previous reviews. When booking this property we did not know about this situation because we book the property way before the previous and most recent reviews. But in the other hand One great things about this property is great location very clean and very spacious room. Hope this review helps other guests staying in this property to at least contact the host if the air conditioning is a priority.

Very well located in a lively place with a lot of restaurants. A bit noisy as all the musicians perform in front of the apprtment but everything stop around 10:30 pm.

Interesting location, mediocre service

This is a nice place, but note a few things before you go. 'Centrally located' means right on possibly the busiest and loudest square in Porto. Buskers and the crowd will keep you up late. It also means great restaurants within a short walk, including just across the square to an amazing high-end resto. The place is kitted out fine but cheaply; the cleaners are super attentive. The most annoying thing was the absolute unresponsiveness to our only complaint: the AC did not work (which was rough during the days where the temps went up to 30 degrees and the room stayed hot all night). The owners sent me a series of responses to my five + emails, all DYI fixes that didn't work. Nothing was ever done to address the problem, and no one came to the apartment to try and fix it. Yes, I expect better.

Awful property management

The apartment itself is in an incredible area and has the best balcony looking over a lively square. However, we had an awful time dealing with the property management for this stay. After returning to our room the first night, the room was boiling hot, and we realized the AC unit was not turning on. I emailed them only to receive no response, so then I called the emergency line and was instructed to “email a video of the unit not working.” After doing so, it took ages to get another response that stated maintenance will look at it in the morning. Asked for a fan, which was not granted. We had to sleep with the balcony doors open which made our room incredibly loud due to the nightlife in the square, and we had terrible sleep. The next day we left and came back at 4pm only to find the AC unit running but the apartment still incredibly hot, and an email stating that “their team” determined it was functioning and asked whether we “needed instructions” on how to use it. Meanwhile, it was obvious they had housekeeping flip a breaker, so the thing was running, but no cold air actually came out. Hours after they had checked it, the room was still hot. I sent more emails all day, getting no responses. We then had a second night of terrible sleep in a 25 degree Celsius room. Ironically, I got an email from them hours after we checked out that they would “send maintenance” to look at it. I’ve never had such terrible service from aVRBO and cannot recommend this property.

We had a great time. The accommodation was great, very central and had everything we needed. My only problem was check in. We left home, not knowing an email asking for a deposit in case of damages, was on our computer. We arrived at flat and had to ring to get someone to let us in. We were exhausted from the journey. We are not tech savvy so it was very stressful to have to pay deposit on phone. The guy on the phone was very very helpful but I didnt have access to my email.

Cozy condo in great location

Very well equipped condo in a charming building surrounded by wonderful restaurants and some live entertainment. The 2 ceiling to floor windows were gorgeous and perfect for sipping wine and people watching. Highly recommend Cozinha das Flores if you are looking for a delicious meal. A little pricier but absolutely worth it! Breakfast spot was a 3 minute walk called Floresta Cafe by Hungry Biker was delicious. The location was fantastic!

Conditions idéales pour Porto

En visite pour deux jours à Porto, l’appartement était idéalement situé, tout a fait confortable et parfaitement équipé (merci pour les attentions d’accueil). Pouvoir profiter des prestations musicales de la place Sao Domingos depuis la terrasse était un vrai plus !
