Put a lighthouse stay on your bucket list
We were fortunate enough to stay in the Sunrise Cottage for two nights. The cottage is absolutely brilliant. Well maintained, restored to perfection and welcoming. The bedroom's are spacious and comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with provisions. The grounds are spacious and being right next to the lighthouse which is spectacular at night. Overall if you can book this property, it is really worthwhile and will provide a very memorable stay.

This was perfect! It was a good distance from town so we could have some peace and quiet in nature, but not too far so we could go out to eat. Really beautiful and unique location. The cottage had everything we needed - linen, towels, tea, coffee, cooking oil etc. Very well set up

The cottage is pretty incredible. We were both pretty excited to stay beside the rugged coast beneath a lighthouse, and the whole experience was so good. The cottage itself was much bigger than expected, the bedrooms were beautiful and the bed extremely comfortable. The bathroom was modern and lovely, the spacious kitchen had everything we needed and the living room has a big open fireplace which we used both nights. The atmosphere here is both super cosy and wonderfully eerie. We stayed in May and there was a heavy storm the first night - there was nowhere better to be than by the fire in a heavy-set stone-built cottage by a lighthouse. Stepping out onto the protected veranda to see the lighthouse's beams circling through the driving rain in an image neither of us will forget. The place is built for just this type of weather and nothing on the cottage rattled or shook, despite the crazy storm winds. We would return here in a heartbeat and most certainly recommend to anyone looking for a more unique, but at the same time very luxurious, place to stay.

Very unique property to stay in, lots of history, had all the amenities you needed and extras. Wish we had booked more than one night, would be a great place to unwind.

Comfort on the cliff
Very well-equipped and comfortable cottage for a relaxing holiday. Situated right on the Great South West Walk, check out the beautiful, easy Sea Cliffs walk. A short drive into Portland for supplies and to enjoy the Botanic Gardens, or sit in the sunny porch.

We stayed at the Care Takers Cottage,its was very clean and comfy. Would highly recommend a night here.Sunset was fantastic!!

Amazing Location
Stayed at Care takers cabin. Would recommend sunrise or sunset cottages if you want direct access to light house. From caretakers cabin you need to drive around to reach the light house as there was no direct access by foot to the light house. Apart from that the cabin was excellent had everything that you can think of.

Spectacular place to stay
Superb location, and a very comfortable cottage that provided everything you could possibly want. Every detail has been well thought through. The only minor inconvenience was that the fire, which was great to have, tended to smoke out the lounge area a bit. Maybe the wood was a still too green?

Great accommodation, but BYO food
The cottage accommodation was awesome, though the supplied breakfast ingredients where just OK. However the takeaway meal from the local (on-site) café, advertised as "gourmet food" was appalling

The cottage we stayed in was a new build but was wiil appointed and you get the atmosphere of being in a remote lighthouse location. The only disappointment was that the previous tenants did not check out till after 2 pm which was our check in time - very frustrated. Staff were excellent.

Great night at a lighthouse cottage
This was an amazing location in a cottage next to the lighthouse. We had wallabys grazing in the yard in the evening and lots of peace and quiet. We would go back in a heart beat.

Fabulous
Fabulous accomodation. Quietand peaceful location. Beautiful home which still has the character of the turn of the century but is renovated and comfortable. Really enjoyed my stay here.

Caretaker Cottage at the lighthouse
It's an amazing property with breath taking views. Rob and his wife took great care of us during our stay and made it memorable. The kitchen is well equipped and the place is spacious and well appointed.

Unique and atmospheric
It was fabulous. Full of character and charm. Very comfortable with atmosphere plus. On a cold day we would have been tempted to light the fire which was left prepared for us. Sadly we only stayed the one night, but I’d be tempted to go back for a cozy week stay. We had a bit of fog in the evening which added to the ‘Heathcliff on the moors’ kind of atmosphere. The greeting on picking up the key in town was friendly and organised - complete with handy maps. The kitchen and breakfast was well provisioned. It was a unique place to stay. I would definitely recommend it.

Wallaby yard guests
The check in is in Portland, not at theLighthouse. Read the email carefully before driving to the cottage. It’s a good idea to buy dinner items in town and cook at the fully stocked cottage kitchen to avoid driving to town at dusk and risking hitting a wallaby. We had two wallabies in our yard watching us watch them at dusk.

We are limited to skymuster for NBN unfortunately this is influenced by weather conditions. We do have an extensive range of novels as well. We can only hope that remote NBN will improve in the future. Rob

The property was fantastic for our family stay over Christmas 2019. We were travelling the coast road and wished we could have had more than one night. The cottage was so clean and the breakfast that was left was superb. Walking around the lighthouse and watching the sunset was magical. We even had rock wallabies in the garden as it grew dark. Thank you to all from the easy booking in at the hotel to collect the keys to all those who clean and maintain the cottage. If we ever visit form the UK again, I would love to come back.

A unique property, very isolated and starkly beautiful. The cottage is cozy, clean, and much larger than I thought with a lovely sun room between the main room and the kitchen. There are lots of walking trails around the lighthouse and a fire ready to go in the fireplace when you get back.

Beautiful cottage-half with fireplace, wooden floors, and spacious bathroom and kitchen, spotless. Due to our own stupidity it took us a little while to notice the remote control for the heater next to the TV remote; freezing before that. Some breakfast supplies (eg., eggs, milk, ham) were available; for a veggie person a tomato or piece of fruit would have made a big difference. Check-in with keys in a Portland hotel slightly suboptimal, but no big deal. Overall a lovely experience.

Great Views, Comfy and Warm
We had a really great stay, the accommodation had everything we needed and a really comfy bed. Plenty do to and great walks to see the beautiful but rugged coastline. Seeing the lighthouse working at night was also quite exciting. Easy and short drive into town for eating or cook and eat in the apartment. Wifi and TV reception not the best, but run your laptop through our phone and it works fine. Highly recommend.

Great experience.
It was great fun staying in one of the light house keepers cottage. The cottage was roomy and comfortable. It was lovely listening to the waves and watching the wildlife. A great experience!

Disappointed travelers
On arrival at 4PM found the office to be closed and any contact phone numbers going unanswered. Luckily there was a maintenance person on site who advised me that check in needed to be done some 8-10 Kilometres back in Portland. The caretakers cottage is a more recent build 1950? I expected it to be one of the stone heritage in keeping with the Lighthouse. In short the overall experience was disappointing and probably $100 overpriced.

Really cool location in a cottage at the lighthouse - great view of the sunset over the ocean and the lighthouse light at night. Cottage was renovated nicely. Free breakfast ingredients was a great extra.
