An old Victorian, kept simple and comfortable rather than styled.
Bedrooms: three. Two with a queen bed each, and one with a queen-over-queen bunk, so eight can sleep without anyone on a couch.
Living and dining: a living room with a TV, and a dining table for the group. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a dishwasher and a Keurig carousel kept stocked.
Bathroom: one, with a shower that holds its heat and pressure.
Also: central heating and AC, washer and dryer in the basement, a front porch, and a backyard with a seating area under the big tree.
The whole house is yours. The front door key is in a lockbox by the door, with the code sent by message before arrival. The laundry is in the basement, through its own door under the back deck. Message us and we'll send the code for it. Bags can be dropped from noon.
Check-in is self-guided, so you can arrive on your own schedule. I'm a message away whenever you need anything during your stay.
Ladd's Addition starts across the street: diagonal streets, rose gardens in the roundabouts, and quiet. On your own block, Baerlic Brewing is next door and Pine State Biscuits on Division is two blocks, the one with the line on weekends. Division's restaurants run east from there. Hawthorne Boulevard is an 11-minute walk north, Clinton Street's cafes and the Clinton Street Theater about 20 minutes southeast, and downtown eight minutes by car over the Hawthorne Bridge.
Street parking is free. Some blocks have two-hour limits in the daytime, but overnight parking is open anywhere without a posted restriction, and reviewers say they find a spot on the block. A paid lot sits a block away for anyone who wants a sure thing.
The 4 and 2 buses on Division run downtown in 15 minutes. Driving, downtown is 8 minutes and PDX airport 18.
One bathroom for the house, so eight people share it. SE 11th is a through street with some traffic, and a freight train passes nearby now and then. Towels are provided, washcloths aren't.
A party here gets reported by the neighbors and shut down, and the booking ends.
