El hotel está en buenas condiciones y el personal es amable y atento. Además, está bien ubicado, muy cerca de la universidad.

My sister was electrocuted twice by two different outlets I was electrocuted in the bathroom twice. And possibly was a camera on the TV or some sort of USB device on the TV. And the staff were sort of not the nicest at in the morning that evening was okay.

Employees were amazing. But no tv, water wouldnt adjust in bathroom, it was scolding hot. Tiolet would not flush properly. No usb plug ins But it was very clean.

The place was a DUMP! Dirt on all the carpets. There was paint or something all over the chair in our room. Carpet filthy. Dead roach on the wall. Bathroom floors hadnt been touched & the blankets on the beds stunk!!

This place is good enough for the price and they allow pets (which was a requirement). They are obviously pinching pennies across the board, but the room was clean and the staff was responsive.

Nice time in Portales, NM
We really enjoyed our stay in Portales. They had improved a lot from our last stay. Clean, comfortable, big plush towels, good parking. Wish the breakfast was better.

For the price it is OK. Quiet and comfortable but getting dated. I would stay again, however the hallway was messy, needed vacuum. There was trash around the parking area that should be picked up. A little effort would make it much better.

Rooms look better than the outside
There must not have been many staying there, the counter was rarely manned. Waited over 15 minutes to check in. Room was nice, and i liked the beds.

Update the hotel
Your handicap parkings are too far from doors. Should be in parking area in front of hotel. AC units need to be updated or replaced, it was hot in the room, your carpets are nasty need to be replaced. The front desk person wasn't in a nice greeting and check out mood. Looked as if she was frustrated attending us. I would've expected someone with a smile, good mood. I always stay at this hotel, but might have to stay at another one if it continues. I wasn't happy with my stay.

It took 15 minutes to check-in. There was a sign at the front desk that they would be back in 5 minutes but it was at least 15 minutes. The smell as soon as I opened the door to our room took me back a bit. I don't if it was because it hadn't been aired out in awhile or what but it was strong. After a bit, I got used to it but after a long drive, I didn't want to cause a fuss and ask for a different room. The room was clean, other than the initial smell. The water was hot but the shower head needs replacing and the shower curtain kept sliding open. I would've liked to have had more than 2 bath towels but it worked.

Unfortunate stay at Super 8
I am not usually one to write negative reviews, but I was truly shocked by the experience that I had at the Super 8 in Portales, NM. I had to stay at the Super 8 after my reservations at another hotel were canceled last minute due to an emergency that shut down the hotel. The Super 8 was my only last minute option for lodging in Portales, NM. The room key I was given at check-in was to a room that already had guests in it. I walked into the room that I was assigned and was surprised by luggage and personal items scattered around the room. I went back down to the front desk and stated that the room key I was given was to a room with guests already in it. The desk person just replied with "oh" and proceeded to look for another room to assign me. I was given a new room key to a different room. The second room was empty but appeared potentially neglected by cleaning staff. The bed next to the window and AC unit had blood stains on the comforter. Additionally, there was a white powder on the floor between the wall and the second bed in the room. I was too tired from my work trip to go down to the desk person a second time. However, I reported the blood stains on the comforter the next morning when checking out and the morning desk person said they'd look into it. This Super 8 had a decent rating here on Hotels.com so I was truly suprised by the events of my stay.

Room was clean, hotel itself was free of bad odors. Breakfast was a big disappointment. Milk and yogurt in mini fridge were curdled, waffle station was empty, as well as coffee. Tried to wait for an employee to appear, but gave up after 20min, only items left were prepackaged muffins and rolls

My reservation was cancelled because of my rating the previous week and neither the hotel nor Expedia has refunded my prepaid room cost after 7 days. I guess my next stop will be the attorney general and better business bureau

We are sorry that you experienced this. Any inquiry about a refund will have to be taken up with expedia as we did not charge you for your stay. We also did not cancel your room based on a review, we have relocated you to a different hotel we think would better suit your needs. We hope you understand.

One of the benefits supposedly offered by this facility is the "hot breakfast" available starting at 6:00 AM. However, on the mornings one specific young dirty looking young man works, there is never breakfast. The hot waffle maker and waffle batter is never put out, bread/muffins/cereal are never refilled for toast, sometimes there are breakfast burritos or sandwiches but not consistently and the same with yogurt. Coffee is not refilled and on some mornings there are not even coffee dispensers available. When he is asked why there is not breakfast provided, he says either the facility is out of food or the girls on the other shifts have left everything so dirty he cannot put it out and this is his story every morning. In spite of leaving messages for the manager, this has obviously not been addressed since the behavior continues. Honestly, as dirty as he looks, no longer eating the free breakfast might be better for the patrons. When the young ladies work, it is a different story. The breakfast bar is fully stocked, clean and fresh.

We do offer a breakfast however we offer a grab-and-go breakfast. With many storms in the area, we have had delays in receiving our trucks. We apologize for this and the impact it may have had on your stay. We hope, should you decide to stay with us at on later date that we can make this up to you.
