The house is beautiful and really is just steps away from the beach! We had everything we needed! It was also a great location! We rented bikes for 2 of the kids and they loved it! This house was perfect for our family!

We were kinda new to the area but had made day trips to Cape San Blas, and we absolutely loved it! The house was perfect and checked off all of our boxes. The pool was always open and the beach very convenient!

Great Stay at Chunky Monkey

We loved our stay at Chunky Monkey. The location on the Cape was great. It was nice having Scallop Cover general store right behind us. The house was great overall! Very spacious and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen has everything you'll need! We went 2 days after Hurricane Helene. We were so thankful the owners did everything they could to ensure we could still go. Unfortunately, the storm washed out the stairs to our beach, so we couldnt get down the giant drop off. It seemed as though they were being fixed as we were leaving. My only complaint is regarding the "pet friendly" listing of the home. It is not pet friendly. Sure, your dog can go...however you will be greeted by a letter letting you know your pet is absolutely not allowed on any furniture or beds. To me, that is not pet friendly and is information that should be known before booking. May I suggest providing sheets or covers to put over the couches? Also, there is no carbon monoxide detector on the property as the listing states. And contrary to apparently their belief - it is a thing at the beach too. Overall, our stay was great. We appreciate you allowing us to stay in your beautiful home.

While our time at Chunky Monkey was cut short due to mandatory evacuation from Hurricane Helene, we can attest to how clean and well appointed this home was. Had we been able to stay, our family would have had ample room to stretch out. It is so close to the beach it cannot be beat. The property management rep and owner were easy to communicate with and very helpful when we needed to leave quickly. We would rent Chunky Monkey again!

We love Chunky Monkey!!

This was our first time staying at the Chunky Monkey! This house was a great fit for our family and had everything we have been looking for in a rental(plenty of room for everyone to have a room and access to a bathroom, open floor plan with enough room for us to all eat together, a pool, plenty of parking and a very close access to the beach…just to name a few:) The owner(Susie) is very easy to communicate with and got back to us quickly when we had questions! We loved this house and the location! We definitely plan to stay here again!

Wilcox Family Vacation

First time to Cape San Blas and we loved it. Hunky Monkey was more than what we expected. Location is great for the Cape and easy to get to shopping and restaurants in Port St Joe. Pool at your front door and beach about 70 yards away. Owner was great and were sent a Welcome letter prior to arriving with all pertinent info. Will definitely book again. Great time and great memories.

Grand time on the Cape!

The chunky monkey was an ideal place for an extended family vacation! The home was lovely, the beach was a short walk away and the location was easy travel distance to the places we lovely to visit. We thank Susie and her property manager, Jenny, for this memorable stay! We plan to go again and again!

Family beach time

The Chunky Monkey worked perfectly for our family. The beach was steps away and the pool was great! The store right across the had a good selection including ice for the kids and craft beer on tap. Cone Heads 8020 had excellent food. Cape San Blas is a gem!

Disappointing

First, to be clear this response is not about the Chunkey Monkey itself as my family and I were not able to stay in the home. This review is of the rental experience and the area. This was our first trip to Cape San Blas and we were very pleased with the area and what it has to offer. The personnel at Cape San Blas Realty and Property Management and Persnell’s Boat Rentals were both awesome! However, the home rental experience was disappointing to say the least. Upon arrival at 3:30PM on Saturday, July 15, 2023 we found cars parked and people coming outside to go to the pool from the Chunkey Monkey. Much to our surprise! We learned the week of July 15, 2023 – July 22, 2023, which had been booked and paid for in October 2022, had been double booked and we were the losers. Four hours later we were provided with the access code and address for our new stay for the week. However, it was much less than the house we had paid for. The square footage was smaller, no sunsets (we had to drive to see one), only 1 king bed, only 2 ceiling fans in the entire house just to name a few differences. After getting over the shock, we did make the best of our time together and enjoyed the area and what it has to offer. We have learned a lot and this survey is to remind everyone BEWARE AS YOU NEVER KNOW. We have rented through VRBO for years in a variety of locations but to say to the least it might be our last.

Perfect for us!

The house is in a wonderful location to the beach and the gas station! Beach is just steps away. Pool is even closer. It is spacious and beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are a little outdated but work just fine! The master bedroom is seriously huge. I would absolutely stay here again!!
