We had a great time. The condo was nice and had a good layout. It fit our needs perfectly. My suggestion would be to have pot holders, a sponge or something to wash dishes and a newer skillet. There were a couple of wobbly lamps in the bedrooms.

Pros: The location and proximity to the beach was great! The wrap around deck was perfect for watching the sunset. Furnishings were adequate, beds reasonably comfortable, and appliances were all good.Cons: The biggest complaint is the slider to the back deck. It was extremely difficult to open and close - even for the men! The owner says it is being repaired soon. There was a bit of wear and tear (touch wall lamps in bedrooms would turn on randomly in the night, sofas and covers worn, skillets warped, bifold doors to laundry off track…). We were never able to get local cable TV - only streaming from Samsung TV. (Probably not a big deal to some but there was tennis we were hoping to watch!). The owner just said that “it should be working - she had no reports of outage”. So overall, not perfect - a little maintenance and refurbishing would go a long way (and perhaps some pot holders/hot mitts, coasters, new skillets and a wine glass or two!). The owner did offer to refund our unused portion of the stay if we wanted to vacate and find another property- but after a long drive and unpacking/settling in, we decided to make the best of it! We still love the Cape!

Such a great trip to the beach. We have stayed in different places at Barrier Dunes for the past 10 years— and this one was by far our favorite! We have been beachfront before but the dunes always got in the way of seeing from the main deck. This place had a view from the main deck— and it was dark enough on the deck at night to really see the stars! We cooked the whole week and the kitchen was well stocked. We really loved the outdoor furniture and spent a lot of time on the deck. Can’t wait to go back!

Great experience

Kathy was very responsive. Property was as pictured, very clean, no complaints! Having the wrap around deck and being so close to the beach was wonderful! The seaweed issue on the beach was not great, but realize the property owners cannot control.

Great location

Such a beautiful view to wake up too. The kids loved the location and really enjoyed the beach. Plan to come back and enjoy this place again soon!

What a great time!

We enjoyed our stay so much! The property owner was so kind and answered all of my questions promptly. The waterfront view from this property is gorgeous! The sunsets were beautiful! I highly recommend staying here!

Definitely All You Need

Mrs Kathy was the best host imaginable.

Great house, location, views, and the best sunsets! Very clean with lots of amenities . The property few steps to the beach which makes it perfect with little kiddos. Very safe and secure, great gated community with two pools. This makes a huge difference when setting up tents and toys for the days at the beach. We spend a lot of time at different locations in the gulf and this was our first with friends who are have been going for 30+ years. I must say I am looking forward to my next visit right back here. Love that we can do fires on the beach. The house/ location amazing! Beds sleep great! Lots of room for multiple families with multiple kids. Host: cannot say enough about how awesome Mrs. Kathy is. She has many friends in the local area with tons of advice for food , sports, recreations etc. From day one Mrs Kathy was very responsive. Within min she always responded and willing to assist or help if needed. She went out of way every time to make sure we didn’t have any questions or concerns. Other host need to take notes! If it comes to fishing, boat rentals, golf, food, etc she had all the right spots and you can tell she truly cares that you have the best experience. Thank you Mrs. Kathy appreciate all you have done to make our experience the best! Couldn’t have done it without you!

Amazing Views

We just returned from our third family beach trip stay here!! Everyone loved their time spent here from age 5 months to 70 years old!! All four generations got to visit this time! The communication with the owner is excellent! The grands call it “our beach house”! Every room has a view of the beach! Also, the wrap around porch is great to chase the grands & eat all meals on! All while enjoying the sunsets! The AC works wonderfully too. The kitchen even has a crockpot which is a plus for starting meals and coming in from the beach to a cooked meal! The grill was great for cooking the other nights. We are already missing the beach and planning our fourth stay here for the next year! Thanks for sharing your beautiful accommodations and awesome beach views on the beach with our family!!

Very disappointed

Although this unit does have an amazing view of the beach we had a very difficult week of vacation with our family. The owner has no interest in offering a unit that is beautifully decorated or maintained. These are some of the problems we faced: AC not working Smoke alarms chirping (original dead batteries) Broken ice maker (not connected) Broken sliding glass and entry door(broken handle and track-could not come and go) Draperies falling down (not connected to the brackets) Bugs and spider webs everywhere (no pest control) Rusted out grill (filthy Ana broke burners) Smart lights coming on in the night (touch lights didn’t work) Garage sale decor (ugly decor) Old appliances (and cheapest pots pans knives and appliances) washer will scare the wits out of you) I will never recommend or rent this unit again. Owner has a lying excuse for everything.
