Cost for rooms is equal to PNG experience and expectation. Like a lodge or motel in Australia. Not 3star hotel Love the staff. Friendly and helpful. Love ambience Room service lady was awesome and i had clean sheets towels, water daily. It would be great to have papuan food on menu please. The shower curtain needs cleaning in Room 101 and fridge frosts up and leaks. These are 1st world problems..... am booked in again. 😃

Disgusted
The confirmed booking was NOT received by the hotel either on Sat or Sunday and my friend, Tracey Yawing was refused her Accomodation at the hotel, this is not good enough and is very bad service, I expect a full refund.

Think very carefully before booking this property. The place is a dump and the management are unprofessional clowns. The pool is a giant green slimy swamp. The first room I was in had no hot water and the shower was just a trickle, although the sink in the room had only hot water. The bathroom door auto locked when shut and needed maintenance to come open the door with a screw driver or housekeeping to use a key. A K75 lamb curry consisted of exactly 5 large mutton bones with barely any meat on them. The butter put out for breakfast was rancid and the staff didn't know/couldn't tell/didn't understand. They were unable to generate a correct account on two occasions from reception. On the Saturday night the property was over run with loud fighting drunkards and despite numerous security nothing was done. There was a large noisy fight in the pool area around 1am At 6.45am on Sunday the pool area was littered with empty beer bottles and sleeping drunks including one who was barely dressed. Leaving my room at 6.45am I was harassed by a drunk holding a beer who could barely stand up, security removed him only after i complained. At 6,45am a young drunkard was "pretending"to play the piano (very badly) in the breakfast buffet - hardly a peaceful eating environment- he was apparently the "directors nephew". This place is a disgrace to PNG and is not somewhere any international traveller would want to stay. Pay the extra to stay in a decent property. This place is a dump run by clowns

Hotel for a short stop - it is not recommended to go outside the perimeter. Take the shuttle. The staff is amazingly stupid - they can’t even find the paid client reservation for 10 minutes. The restaurant is not recommended (expensive with poor quality). The Internet almost does not work (that is, the network is formally there, but it is impossible to use)

My room was dirty please check rooms before guests arrive and the bathroom mats were dirty haven't been changed. also the smell please clean rooms

Really tired, disappointing hotel. Really, really poor food. No change at the bar. No pickup at airport (had to call). No free wifi - paid only (cheaper to get your own SIM at the airport). Don't waste your money.

firs room had leakage from updatirs near the bed, second room had no covering or curtain to block view from the bedroom to block off bath romm and toilet. The water in toilet kept flowing making difficult to flush out waste, had to use another water tap near by

Old-world charm (including no internet)
Just 1 night. Convenient to be so close to the airport and have a shuttle bus service. Also convenient for us to have dinner and breakfast there, which was ok, except with limited choices. In a very large room with ambience of former glory and old-world charm. Enjoyed a quick swim in the pool in the morning. Quite disappointed that there was no internet access though. Advertising said it was available in the foyer only and free. There was also a display on the front desk saying internet available. But when we asked for the password we were told that it hasn't been available for a long time because of issues with the internet supplier. A little less old-world charm in that respect would have been better.

Poor experience
I called a couple of times and Receptionist was unhelpful and always hung up staright away and tone of voice seemed uninterested to help. I called couple of times before my flight to inform and confirm with reception that I should be picked up at the International aiport. When I arrived no one was waiting so I walked to domestic aiport looking for the hotel pick up. Very disorganised even though specific information were given. Room bathroom smelt very bad of urine and Tv wasn’t working.

Their advertising is false...barely a 2 star
On arrival the reception staff were too shy and spoke so quietly that I had to ask them to repeat themselves many times. The room they gave me was at the back of the hotel. It was dirty, had no soaps or bath towels, had no beverage making supplies, the bed covering was stained, and the doors on the vanity unit were hanging off. I asked for a better room...something that matched the photos and description when I booked. This room was better but also had no soaps or bath towels, and had no beverage making supplies. Also the shower was filthy. A cleaner came and made the room a little better. Next day I had to specifically ask the cleaner for soaps, toilet paper, and beverage making supplies. Repairs had been done in the bathroom and the workmanship was amateurish to say the least. I ate twice in the restaurant and regretted doing so both times. The Filipino Adobo meal tasted nothing like adobo...it was sweet and sour, and the next night the pizza base was undercooked and doughy. When I checked out the reception staff could't provide with all the receipts for my meal and other spending. Then I was informed that the airport shuttle driver hadn't turned up so they had a taxi waiting for me. I hesitated knowing the potential danger of taking a taxi at 4am in Port Moresby. I was assured that the driver was trusted and that I would be safe. Fortunately I was delivered safely to the airport but it was a nervous finale to an unsatisfactory and disappointing weekend stay.

Don't stay in PM, but if you do, it's ok here
Dangerous. PM is Dangerous. This hotel picks you up and drops you off because of how dangerous it is. They Rob you by charging 20 per Hour to use WIFI (when it's working) The restaurant food is adequate at best. Happy hour is a good deal though. They will arrange for a taxi but MAKE SURE IT'S THE RIGHT ONE. We were sent with a guy who we later found out the hotel didn't trust. The pool was always "under maintenance" so we didn't use that either. Basically we got ripped off for what we paid.

Not a nice way to leave the country
We were shown to our room (108) by a nice porter and turned the aircon on to cool the room. We noticed the fridge wasn't on, no water, no milk or coffee .. just 2 satchets of "three in one", which we didn't want. No plugs for sink of bath .. taps and spouts dirty ... green scum around taps. About that time, we noticed a drip of water from the aircon, which soon became a constant flow. Soaked up much with towels, but ended up asking for another room. We moved to room 110 and started again. TV didn't work, so we managed to fix the problem and all seemed fine. Bathroom and tea services as in room 108 .. lousy. When registering, we asked to be woken in time to get to the airport for our 6:30 flight. We weren't and had trouble paying our account, which was more than quoted, because they didn't have change. We missed our flight and had to pay another $480 for a later flight and sit at the terminal for 5.5 hours. The entire staff seemed very morose, like they didn't care one iota about their clients. They whispered, rather than spoke and being hard of hearing didn't help me. They DID NOT SMILE ONCE, even though we tried to be friendly. It was not a good experience, especially after having such a fabulous time in Rabaul, with the friendliest of people and great service at Kabaira Beach Hideaway Resort. I couldn't recommend the Hideaway Hotel at Port Moresby to my worst enemy!

Nice to have courtesy bus to access hotel from airport. Every hotel in Pt Moresby is overpriced for what is offered. Reasonable rooms. Limited options for meals.

Might be the best of a very bad lot
Port Moresby is short on mid-priced hotels so you may be forced to stay at the Hideaway but lower your expectations - the hotel is terribly dated and in general disrepair. It's location near the hotel is good for overnight transfers but you'll need to hire a car to see anything of the city/ country. The restaurant is fair - reasonable food and comparatively reasonably priced. Overall however the standard is poor and you'll want to spend as much time out of the hotel as possible.

A relatively average hotel, showing signs of wear, clean, but with a few details missed. About a mile from the airport, but did free airport pick up and drop. Better priced than most of the local hotels.

It's PNG situation, strange set-up
They need electrical cables to be cable ties up and away, have hot water at all time, Air/Con need fixed or get new one/s as they scream, so sleep is very hard, really they need have look what they are doing, and it possibly better than right now, also there other things wrong, like showers are not cleaned or water on floor, etc but I was in 3 rooms cause 2 where real bad, A have look yourself, also see the Chef and tell me, I know right & wrong

Hotel in PNG.
Never have been there but have heard that it can be dangerous. The hotel has a lot of security ans watchful eyes which is what is necessary in a poor country.

Hidden away near the airport.
Basic hotel - good for overnight but little space in the room for doing much. Needs maintenance, but AC works well. Not a resort, but adequate for the night.
