Dejlig ferie i dejligt hus

En dejlig uge i en skøn villa. Vore værter var søde og hjælpsomme, og gav os masser af lokal information. Eneste minus var, at når man debiteres særskilt for strøm, bør prisen man betaler være den faktiske pris, og ikke højere pris, som vi betalte.

Relaxing stay

We really enjoyed at stay at Villa Elisabetta. It's a beautiful traditional Toscanian house (which is over 100 years old) with a large enclosed garden. The pool is large, with a view on the old city of Poppi, and was perfect to cool down during the warm weather. Our dog had a lot of fun patrolling the grounds and chasing other animals. Monica and family were very friendly and regularly brought us excellent fresh pasta, lasagna, and ragu. We really enjoyed these traditional threats. We also got good tips on highlights in the region, and had a great wine tasting at Nipozzano Castle that Monica arranged for us. All in all, we had a wonderful vacation and relaxing stay in beautiful Tuscany.

A great host

This is a place to come to enjoy Tuscany without the tourist crush, great location just over an hour from Florence airport with superb views down the valley.  Monica who is the property manager and her sister were very hospitable, bringing fresh homemade pasta and helping us with tips where to go and booking a restaurant for us. The personal touch makes such a difference compared to other rentals we've had where a local agency manages the let and doesn't give that extra care. Facilities were good, nice pool, good sized rooms, the downstairs bedroom was great as we had a wheelchair dependent amongst us. You must go to Arezzo (Monica's recommendation) , a nice town with a historic area that is worth a walk around, local castle on a hill nearby is also worth a visit. Many thanks to Monica and her sister for making our week so enjoyable.

Beautiful Villa and Grounds

From the minute I made the reservation at this Villa for our girl's trip (4 of us), Monica was in communication. She was very responsive throughout our stay as well. She and Liz, whom the villa is named after, are a team and they work with their other sister and their husbands to make sure everything you need is taken care of. Monica and Liz greeted us with wine, cake, and lasagna - it doesn't get better than that! All of their cooking was delicious. The villa has three huge bedrooms, which is a luxury in Italy, and each has its own bathroom, which were also quite large. The common inside areas were nice, the kitchen is small and very well-stocked, and the outside grounds are just spectacular!We did not actually swim in the pool but we did lounge around the pool a couple of days for a bit and took a few dunks. It's very nice and the views are beautiful.The Villa is very close to the town of Poppi which is small and charming. Poppi has many shops, a few grocery stores, and a bunch of very good restaurants. We did visit the Zoo since we ate lunch there the day Monica and Liz invited us. It is owned by their family.We loved the bread service every morning - you order with Monica the day before and the bread you ordered is there in a bag on the entrance gate the next morning. Just one of the many touches of this wonderful villa.The only thing that caught us off guard was that we paid for electricity separately. And, our bill was quite expensive. Just be aware!

Villa Elisabetta in Poppi, the hidden gem of Tuscany

From the glorious double rainbow that greeted us upon our arrival to Villa Liz, we knew that we had chosen the perfect place to spend our week in Tuscany. Monica welcomed us like family with all of the delicious food she prepared and dropped off - the best cake any of us had ever tasted and homemade pasta dishes that were divine! She even invited us to a spectacular lunch at the neighboring Poppi Park Zoo restaurant where we were treated like the guests of honor. The villa and grounds were indescribably beautiful, and the pictures do not do them justice. The views of Poppi Castle, the orchard, the pool and the gorgeous old stone villa itself all exceeded our expectations in every way. Plenty of space for our group of 6 adults with lovely large bedrooms each with its own bath. Highlights included visits from the neighboring Asinara donkeys that came right up to the fence, bunnies frolicking in the yard, nightingales singing long after dark and long sessions of ping pong with the most glorious backdrop view imaginable. The town pf Poppi was wonderful, and we are so happy we got to experience the little medieval town that most people have never even heard of. The restaurants, shops and of course the stunning centerpiece of town, Poppi Castle, made for a vacation far beyond what most tourists experience in Italy. Language barriers were never as much of an issue as we feared. Thank you Monica and family for making this vacation perfect in every way! We hope to return someday.

Fantastic, relaxing holiday at a beautiful location

My family and I stayed at Villa Liz for a week and it was a truly fantastic time. We spent hours in the pool (my youngest overcame her nervousness around water and by the end of the week was swimming lengths!!). The weather was amazing, and the villa and its' surroundings were absolutely beautiful. Monica, our host, was fantastic - always at hand to help with any questions we had. Also, the fresh pasta and cake that were gifted to us were so tasty! It was genuinely sad to leave, but hopefully we will return one day. Villa Liz is a definite recommend from us!!!!

Traumurlaub in der Villa Elisabetta

Das Haus liegt zentrumsnah und doch absolut ruhig idyllisch in direkter Nähe zum Zoo. Der große Pool bietet einen fantastischen Blick auf die Burg Poppi und das weitläufige Grundstück mit Obstplantage ist sehr gepflegt mit tollem Blick auf die toskanische Landschaft. Es sind zahlreiche schattige Sitzmöglichkeiten vorhanden. Die Vermieterin ist jederzeit erreichbar und verwöhnt die Gäste bei Ankunft mit Kuchen und Pasta. Auch im Laufe der weiteren Woche wurden wir mit Pizzateig und selbstgemachter Pasta versorgt. Aussenküche und Pizzaofen laden zum Selbstversorgen ein. Die Umgebung bietet zahlreiche Ausflugsmöglichkeiten (Wandern, Mountainbiken, Kultur), das Haus selbst mit den verschiedenen Spielmöglichkeiten (Tischtennisplatte, Schaukel, Wippe, etc.) Alternativen zum Verweilen daheim. Wir können Familien und Gruppen, die einen ruhigen und erholsamen Urlaub verbringen möchten, nur eine Buchung empfehlen. Wir werden gerne nochmal unseren Urlaub dort verbringen. Tolle Unterkunft in ruhiger Lage

Das Haus liegt alleine in absolut ruhiger Lage mit toller Aussicht. Die Ausstattung ist sehr gut. Die Vermieterin war immer erreichbar und hat uns mit leckerer Lasagne und anderen Leckereien versorgt. Vom Pool hat man einen tollen Blick auf Poppi. Ist absolut empfehlenswert.

Ein wirklich schöner Urlaub in einem tollen Haus mit hervorragender Betreuung!

Wir haben das Haus als Familie mit drei Erwachsenen,zwei Kindern im Alter von 10 und 12 und einem knapp Einjährigen gemietet.Besonders der schöne,große Pool,der bei Verschmutzung jederzeit auf Anfrage gesäubert wird,hatte es den beiden Größeren angetan.Der Garten des riesigen Grundstücks wirkt sehr gepflegt und der Ausblick ist einfach klasse!Ganz in der Nähe gibt es einen Supermarkt.Das ein oder andere Mal wird man mit hausgemachter und italienischer Küche verwöhnt,was uns immer sehr gut geschmeckt hat und auch das Pizzabacken im hauseigenen Pizzaofen war ein Erlebnis.Bei Fragen zum Haus oder zur Umgebung bekommt man schnell und unkompliziert eine Antwort.Ich kann gerade Familien oder Gruppen,die einen ruhigen und schönen Urlaub verbringen wollen,dieses Haus nur empfehlen.Ein großes Kompliment an Monica und Elisabetta für die tolle Gastfreundschaft und nochmals ein herzliches Dankeschön!

einfach zum wohlfühlen

Eine wunderschöne Woche (18. bis 25.06.2016), ein schöner Familienurlaub (3 Generationen) Die beiden netten Frauen Monica und Elisabetta, die über WhatsApp jederzeit erreichbar waren, haben uns schon mit Kuchen, selbstgemachten Nudeln und Saucen begrüßt. Auf Abruf gab es auch Teig für die Pizza und zusätzlich noch eine Pfanne voll Lasagne. In dem alten, schönen Anwesen mit den liebevoll eingerichteten Zimmern, fühlt man sich sofort wohl. Der offene Kamin, den wir auch zwei Mal gut nutzen konnten, schafft auch zusätzlich eine schöne Atmosphäre. Ein Highlight ist auch der große Pizzaofen, der mindestens zwei Stunden vorher mittels Holz angeheizt wird. Auch der Kinderspielplatz wurde von Moritz (4 Jahre), täglich genutzt. Ein Highlight ist auch der fantastische Pool, indem man richtig schwimmen kann. Aufgrund der Hügellage der Villa gibt es einen tollen Blick über die toskanische Landschaft und das Castell Poppi. Die Bilder im Internet haben nicht zu viel versprochen. Das Grundstück, dessen Größe man auf den Bildern nicht erkennen kann, ist weitläufig und schön ruhig. Man hört keinerlei Autogeräusche, nur Grillen und Zikaden. Alles in Allem, haben wir hier eine traumhafte Woche verbracht, mit Ausflügen nach Poppi und Arezzo. Jederzeit weiter zu empfehlen. Einzigartig

Ein herzliches Dankeschön von uns allen an Monika und Familie! Dieser Urlaub wird sehr sehr lange in Erinnerung bleiben, es hat alle Erwartungen übertroffen. Die Bewirtung ( Kuchen, Pizza, Pasta ...mmh lecker) und Betreuung im ganzen Urlaub war Spitze! Das Haus liegt in Alleinlage auf einen Berg mit wunderschöner Aussicht auf Poppi. Man findet in der Umgebung des Hauses für jeden seinen Lieblingsplatz. ,,Hängesessel, Liegen am Pool, unter Veranda, im wunderschönen Schlafzimmer, auf der Wiese und vieles mehr." Man kann sehr ruhig schlafen! Das Ferienhaus lebt, man fühlt sich immer willkommen. Wunderschön eingerichtet, viel liebevolle Details, die Zimmer sind geräumig und sauber.Die Hausfrau hat zum Verwöhnen der Familie alles was sie braucht, plus Pizzaofen. Perfekt! Schon alleine die Auffahrt mit elekt. Tor ist ein Erlebnis ( schmale Zufahrt). Das Einkaufen im Ort muss man gut einplanen, die Mittagspause 12.30 Uhr bis 16.30 Uhr. ( Preise sind in Ordnung) Die Altstadt mit Castell ist wunderschön, auch ruhig mal in den Hinterhofgassen schauen. Sehr interessant! Wir hatten das Glück das während unseres Aufenthaltes in Poppi ein Stadtfest war. Die Italiener können gut feiern und auch lange. Zu empfehlen. Arezzo & Siena mit Auto, Florenz mit den Zug ( sehr entspannend) Nach Siena über den Bergpass, da gibt es tolle Ausblicke ins Land und viele kleine Bergdörfer. ( braucht viel Zeit) In Arezzo gibt es eine Rolltreppe in die Stadt hinauf und viele kleine Läden in den Seitengassen, auch der Park ist zu empfehlen. Die Abwicklung alles Formalitäten ( Vertrag & Zahlung) war gut organisiert. Wir haben unseren Freunden & Famile dieses Ferienhaus empfohlen. It was wonderful!

The house is wonderful situated in a forest area with a great pool and a wonderful view. Monica and Elizabetta were so nice and welcoming and brought us Pizza and Lasagne, both were delicious! We would love to come back someday and see a bit more of beautiful Tuscany but the House was so nice and relaxing we stayed "at home". The house was also perfect for our son who sits in a wheelchair. Thank you for the wonderful and too short week!

A fantastic 2 weeks

We spent the most fantastic 2 weeks at Villa Elisabetta in August. Monica and Elisabetta were the perfect hostesses and made our stay even more amazing! The home made Lasagne and Tortellini were a lovely surprise as well as the provision of home made pizza dough so we could make our own pizzas and cook them in the bread oven that was built in to the villa! A beautiful villa with fantastic views and a large pool, as well as the table tennis and play equipment made our stay fun filled and enjoyable. The villa is in an ideal location for days out and while we were there we enjoyed day visits to Rome, Sienna and Pisa. The market at Stia is worth a visit as is the castle in Poppi where narrow cobbled streets dotted with the odd shop or two greet you on your way to the fantastic views that the castle has to offer. The "Atlantic Oil" restaurant (about 5 km from Poppi) was very good, offering very resonably priced delicious Italian cuisine and lots of it! They also brew their own beer which is probably the best we have tasted but make sure you book a few days ahead as it gets very busy and is very popular with the locals! There is a good supermarket nearby in the next town which is situated in a small shopping mall with some other good shops. Monica and Elisabetta were always on hand to help us with any problems we had such as booking train tickets and giving us directions and nothing was ever too much trouble. An absolutely fantastic holiday and we can not wait to return! Thankyou Monica, Elisabetta, Veronica, Alessandro and Leonardo for everthing.

warm & great welcome

We stayed here in Villa Elisabetta for 10 days, it's a stunning view from the house and pool, the house is nice and big, the kitchen maybe a little bit small, but you learn to work with it :-) Both sisters Monica and Elisabetta are very warm, helpful and friendly. We got pasta for Pizza, Very nice cake upon arrival and homemade Paste. we had some very nice days in the house, baking our own Pizza's in the outdoor pizza oven, and nice ours by the pool. unfortunately the weather turn bad after 8 days, therfore we moved on to the north for some sun the last 5 days, else for sure we had stayed for the 2 weekes. but the time we stayed in the house, we had a great time :-) Thanks a lot Monica and Elisabetta Best Regards from all our family

Four Generation Family Holiday

We spent the secod week of our holiday in this villa after spending the first at another one in Poppi. The property is well presented and comfortable. Four generations of family enjoyed the house, from Great Nana through to toddler grandson. This property has it's own wood fired pizza oven and we were brought pizza dough to make our own pizzas, which was great fun.The Table tennis table was an endless source of entertainment, for my husband and I and the pool has fantastic views of Poppi. If you have children the Zoo park next door is worth a look.The bedrooms were large and clean. I would recommend this property for a young or older family. The downstairs level access was ideal for an older person with less mobility. Monica, and her sisters, Veronica and Elizabetta are all very warm and welcoming, Monica went through all the necessary's clearly in English. Poppi has good shops and the market on a Tuesday was great to stock up on fruit and veg. Also the next Village Pratoveccio had a very good fish stand on their market day, Friday. The old Poppi village has stunning views across the valley and the castle is very interesting to look around, very Romeo and Juliette! We loved our stay here, and our hosts couldn't have been more helpful, Many thank yous! J & A Bristol. UK

Ein wunderschöner Urlaub

Im sehr gepflegtem und sehr liebevoll eingerichtem Haus haben wir mit unseren zwei Kinder einen sehr schönen, erholsamen Urlaub verbracht. Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet und läßt keine Wünsche übrig. Das sehr große Grundstück bietet Privatsphäre und Erholung. Der nur für uns zur Verfügung stehende Pool und der kleine Spielplatz waren schöne Highlights für unsere Familie. Ebenso der echte Pizzaofen, welchen wir mehrmals benutzen. Die praktische Outdoorküche rundete das Angebot perfekt ab. Auch möchte ich noch die herzliche Art unserer Gastgeber erwähnen. Diese verwöhnten uns nicht nur mit Ihrer selbstgemachten Pasta, sondern waren auch für Fragen immer offen. Kurz gesagt ein sehr schöner, leider zu kurzer Urlaub!

Lovely property, great family vacation!

We enjoyed 10 days in this beautiful villa in September 2011. Perfect weather, lovely pool and incredibly friendly hostesses! The 3 bedrooms, each with own bathroom, were perfect for our three-generation family get-together. The interior of the villa is decorated beautifully. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the covered outdoor patio was ideal for enjoying breakfast and evening meals. Screened windows kept any stray bugs away, and the stone structure kept the house cool, even on hot days. The pool was great for cooling off after a long day of sight-seeing (we visited Arezzo, Cortona, Siena, Monteriggiano and Florence, as well as the Parco Zoo run by our hostesses and Poppi castle) and lovely for relaxing on the days we spent "at home". Our hostesses gave us all the advice and help we needed, and are great cooks! Lasagna, home-made pasta with sauce, cake, and pizza dough for baking in the outdoor oven... yum yum!! The area of Tuscany is just as beautiful as the guide books promise, and we had lovely panoramic views from the pool area. All in all a wonderful holiday!! Thanks again to the best hostesses in Tuscany!

Brilliant holiday home!

My family & I stayed here for a week in July and had an amazing time! We were 5 adults & 1 infant and there was plenty of room. My son (18 months old) loved it! The house is beautiful, everything was very new & clean. The owners are lovely, very friendly & helpful, bringing us a few treats during our stay. Views are beautiful & we enjoyed many fantastic lunches and dinners in the outside dining area. I can't recommend this house enough & hope to return one day!

best hollidays ever

We've spent 2 great great weeks in Villa Elisabetha. That place is just magic. So nice atmosphere every evening. House is well equipped. And you can do your own pizza in the 300 years old wooden owen! Both owners are extremely friendly and they help with every little think. We will go back to Poppi soon.

Absolut empfehlenswert

Die Villa ist gut ausgestattet, sehr sauber und gepflegt. Ebenso das Grundstück sowie der Pool (auch auf Wunsch, nach einer windigen Nacht außerplanmäßig).Die Angaben im Online-Inserat waren korrekt und sogar untertrieben (z.B. das Anwesen ist sehr groß, die tolle, offene Aussicht war auf den Online-Fotos gar nicht zu vermuten, auch der kleine Spielplatz sowie ein Tischtennis-Tisch samt Ausstattung). Die Vermieterinnen Monica und Elisabetta waren sehr freundlich, herzlich, kompetent und hilfsbereit. Sie verwöhnten uns manchmal mit leckeren lokalen Spezialitäten und halfen uns professionell Pizzas in einem Steinofen zu backen (dies können wir WÄRMSTENS empfehlen!). Ganz in der Nähe befindet sich ein Zoo mit europäischer Fauna und am Wochenende wird in der dortigen Kantine leckeres lokales Lunchmenu serviert. Poppi ist eine urige kleine Stadt die touristisch nicht überlaufen ist und sie liegt an der Grenze eines großen Nationalparks mit vielen Wanderwegen. Auch Mountainbiker finden in der lokalen Information Kartenmaterial und Routenvorschläge. Weitere Highlights in der Nähe: La Verna, Camaldoli, Eremo di Camaldoli. Wir verbrachten mit unseren Kindern 2 tolle Wochen in Poppi! Katharina und Christoph aus Deutschland
