"Stayed a couple of nights whilst at a local festival. My room was clean and cosy, the room was quiet, and the mattress was very comfortable. Carl and his team made me feel very welcome. Would definitely return. Many thanks"

"Terrible hotel outdated rooms manager closed the bar at 9.50 even though we were residents and we had just arrived said the pub was not busy enough to stay open . So bad we checked out a day early Do not stay there its cheap for a reason"

However the room we were in (an upgraded room) was over the kitchen and every morning at 7am something started up and all we could hear was the hum of it which is annoying when you would like a lie in. We ate both nights in the pub. The food is good but very pricey. On our 2nd night we both had a special which was gammon, 1egg, chips, pinapple and piccalily. I pointed out that it said two eggs but we only got one each. The waiter was apologetic but just said it...

"This is the second time I have stayed due to the convenient location for work. I’ve had the warmest arrival on both occasions. The room was lovely. The bed extremely comfy. And the little touches such as fresh milk and brownies are a bonus treat. Exceptional."

"I have just stayed at The Fighting Cocks for the weekend. Unfortunately we choose the weekend of the A31 closure and the New Forest fires! Resulting in a lot of traffic passing the pub. Not their fault. The staff were very helpful and friendly the room was great, clean and comfortable and breakfast was included and really tasty. We had an evening meal on the Saturday which was ample and reasonably priced. All in all a great little stop over."
