First, we enjoyed our stay at the villa and Tuscany. The view from the villa (sunrises and sunsets) were absolutely spectacular. The location, while kind of remote, was close to Pomarance with a grocery store - which was very convenient. The reason for 3 stars were a few things:
1) A management company, not VRBO books the property. While I received a confirmation for the booking, it did not go through VRBO, which was slightly disconcerting. VRBO never displayed that we were paid in full for the booking. If this doesn't bother you then no problem.
2) Aside from the beautiful views, the place is in need of regular maintenance and could use some updating. There were loose toilet seats, shower heads missing... etc. The pictures online are beautiful, but were probably taken some time ago, and are not accurate. I realize the age of the property, but some updates could easily happen while maintaining the charm of the place.
3) There needs to be instructions in the kitchen for the dishwasher and the garbage displayed somewhere - in any language. I speak some Italian so that isn't an issue, but nowhere was it stated how to dispose of the trash, which is quite specific in Italy.
