"Residenza Cà BIANCA" The "Residenza Cà BIANCA" is located in a charming medieval palace in a central location in the village of POLCENIGO. Located just a few meters from the historic Piazza Plebiscito—overlooked by the magnificent “Palazzo ZAIA,” a fine example of Venetian architecture—Cà BIANCA began as a HOME/WORKSHOP ("Casa Cittadina") within the ancient medieval city walls. Rapid urbanization led to an overlap between the ancient urban and architectural structures dating back to Roman times and the need to accommodate an ever-increasing number of people within the city walls. The careful and respectful restoration has highlighted the building’s original two-story structure. The expansion, dating from the second half of the 19th century, is evident in the main façade—skillfully restored—and inside. The restoration of the façade revealed, on the second level, traces of two walled-up oval windows corresponding to the attic floor of the medieval structure. On the second floor, the restoration of the stone walls revealed the outline of the sloped support surface for the original wooden roof structure.
The architectural restoration project, designed by architects Paolo and Giovanni PEZZOTTI, the current owners of the residence, paid close attention to the relationship with the surrounding buildings, the preservation of the original architectural layout, and the use and integration of natural materials and local traditions. Floors made of reclaimed chestnut wood, exposed stone, fir wood for the ceilings, antique terracotta tiles for the first floor and the common staircase, and cork for thermal and acoustic insulation. The acquisition of the Acoustic Compliance Certificate and the use of green building practices throughout the entire complex guarantee guests the comfort and healthy environment necessary for high-quality hospitality.
The “Residenza Cà BIANCA” is located in the historic center of POLCENIGO, at Via Coltura No. 3, just a few meters from Piazza Plebiscito. What makes this location unique is its close proximity to the city center and its public venues, including restaurants, bars, an ice cream shop, a bakery, a grocery store, and the Tourist Office. The residence is also characterized by a spring-fed stream (the Rio GORGAZZETTO) that flows right next to the building behind the main facade. Guests can hear the soothing sound of the flowing water along with other sounds of nature.
