"Even though the weather wasn’t great, the cabin was clean and cozy. Screened in porch was so nice to just sit, read and enjoy the rain. We were hoping to get to use the fire pit outside but winds prevented that. Will keep this on our list of places to stay in the future."

"For the cost of what we paid for the rental, it was fantastic. It has 2 great outdoor spaces, with a top and lower deck. It is small, but enough space for what we needed. It needs a few simple things, that I noticed others mention, like more towels. We are 60 guest and had to maneuver to get up the outdoor steps and to get in to the high ledge bath tub/showers. "The room was very cute. It was very clean. Very welcoming. However, the bed needs rotate or replaced. You roll to the middle, its lumpy and not comfortable. The property has horrible lighting it is dark. The property has horrible signage. We had to get out of our car to figure out building numbers. "Fantastic trip! Stayed 2 nights and wished we could stay longer! The cabin was very clean and comfortable. The property was wooded and so quiet. We didn't expect to wake up to snow and feel like temp of 7 degrees, but the cabin was warm, cozy, and dry. Will definitely recommend to others and will be back! Thanks for the memories Bear Cabin!"

"Carol has thought of everything needed for a mountain escape in the most wonderful cabin. The cabin is surrounded by trees with vistas all around. So many places to gather together. The late afternoon fire pit was one of our favourite. Comfortable beds with plenty of blankets and pillows. Carol was easily accessible and helpful. The location is close to App State, Boone, Blowing Rock Grandfather’s Mountain and so much more. We highly recommend staying there and hope to be back ourselves again....

"Our church group had a great time at the cabin. It is definitely large enough for 30 people with plenty of parking spots. Definitely recommend for those looking to go as a large group. Plus location is great as it is very close for things skiing or sledding. "

"The Woods Edge was the perfect getaway my brother and I were looking for. My dad is turning 84 and we wanted to give him a relaxing weekend in the high country. This place is accessible to everywhere…Boone and it’s great selection of restaurants, Banner Elk/Linville and it’s great waterfalls and hikes, Vilas and it’s perfect setting for eating ice cream at Mast by the stream. Super clean and comfortable. A big thank you to Cynthia and Olen for a great weekend!"
