We enjoyed our stay at The Imperial Hotel. The hotel is in a lovely position overlooking the sea, The staff are very friendly, and helpful. The food was excellent with very large portions, a little too big for us. There is also a nice little bar for afternoon and evening drinks. The hotel could do with some updating and although I'd say it was generally clean, I don't think a vacuum had been used in our room the whole week.

Such a beautiful location, we had a small double room which had a sea view, it had everything we needed, water, tea , coffee etc which was topped up every day ,along with shampoos etc, and our bed made too . The staff are so friendly and helpful. Great breakfast selection and also in the restaurant in the evening . Lovely bar to sit and relax in after a day out exploring. It was great we could take our dog with us too. We had our car but you easily go anywhere by bus which stopped right outside the hotel. Walked on the beautiful beach every day which was just across the road .

The hotel was great, but the food was not. Nothing was hot, all food and even the hot drinks were all served luke warm.

I have stayed at the Imperial Hotel on numerous occasions and always found the rooms to be clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and welcoming. There is plenty of choice for breakfast. The views from the restaurant are spectacular. I choose this hotel mainly because it is close to my family who live nearby and also it has a regular bus service.

The first thing to say is that we had a really great week staying at The Imperial and we would go back. The first night was not good as we were given a very noisy room (no 6) at the back of the hotel above the kitchen on one side and above the public bar on the other. Despite being fully booked, the staff did everything to sort this out and we were given another room - much better. The hotel is being slowly updated so has an old-fashioned feel, especially the bathrooms. Breakfast was excellent and we ate several times in the evening. Not fine dining but good quality and not expensive. We appreciated nice coffee and tea in our room, bottles of water and biscuits every day. Service throughout was very good. All members of staff were very friendly and really wanted to make our stay as good as possible. We were give a large take away breakfast on leaving as our ferry was early. The location is beautiful but if you want to sample different restaurants or pop to the pub it will be too isolated. Great for walking, swimming, sunset watching and as a base for exploring the island by car.

Location and attitude

Lovely warm welcome as always. Clean and warm (nights are getting colder now) comfy bed as always and very nice dinner and breakfast. Excellent service from all the team.

The hotel is in the most beautiful spot overlooking Rocquaine Bay. Accessible walks from the hotel and bus service very good. Only 10 minutes from the airport. Staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Dining room really good, with a good varied menu, lovely food, excellent service and wonderful views over the bay.
