The unit was very nice and the front office was super accommodating. Location was very good. The biggest disappointment was that we paid a premium to be on a beach that we could walk and there was no beach. The little piece that they call a beach had maybe 10 lounge chairs on it all on a slant that you could slide off the chair because of the steepness. You could not walk into the water because of all the rocks and boats. This was one of our prime objectives when we rented the place and we were told we could walk on the beach, but there was no beach. This was very disappointing. We had to walk almost 3/4 of a mile carrying chairs, umbrellas, and coolers to get on the beach.

Very nice and wonderful location

Over all good place to stay- beach was very small but there are a lot of public beach’s within walking distance- our room 341 was very nice but there is a maintenance closet that was on the other side of the wall of our bed and at 8am every morning you could here them getting stuff out and it made it hard to sleep in, other then that is was well worth the money- staff especially the bell boys were great!

El Taj Beachfront Room

Loved the location of the resort. Walking distance to everything. Quiet place to stay on the water. Bummed about the beach access as a recent storm took out the beach so we had to walk down the street to reconnect so we could walk on the beach. Besides that, room was so clean and had all the amenities we needed. Staff & property owner was so kind. Would totally stay there again. Very safe.

Perfect for us

My husband and I visit Mexico frequently and were looking for a VRBO that would allow us to cook while enjoying our stay. The kitchen in our one bedroom unit was well stocked, with pots, pans, a sizable refrigerator, oven/stove and microwave. Washer/dryer worked well (washer does have an agitator) comfortable, sizable bedroom and bathroom. My only "negative" (it wasn't for us) is that the beach in front of El Taj is essentially non-existent. What little exists is taken up by the small club table and chairs (with access for paying customers only) no loungers and no walkable area. I don't fault El Taj, beach erosion is real. The public beach entrance is a couple of blocks away, between the Hyatt and Wyndham hotels if you want to map it. Not an issue for us but a consideration if you are traveling with children and all of their stuff. We were at El Taj Ocean and the pool is nice but small, with maybe a half dozen loungers. Larger pool is across the street. Overall highly recommend!

Just lovely

Just like the pictures. Perfect place to celebrate my birthday. Close to 5th ave yet away from the noise. Condo was spectacular. Comfortable beds, kitchen had everything to cook. Cute beach. Loved everything. The one thing that would i would say is seeing the boat's out front all the time. When your swimming you have to pay attention when they are coming in to park. But that was minor. Got use to it. The staff was so helpful. I will definitely book again

Great place to stay! Great if you want to be in walking distance to pretty much anything you would want to do in the city. Beautiful grounds and really nice rooms. Sea weed is an issue just like others said, but within walking distance of beaches that don’t have as much.

Beautiful condo in a beautiful building. Nice location near the heart of PDC, many delicious restaurants in walking distance. Sargassum is all over the beaches, but that is not something that any of us can control just something to note if you’re staying in the potential sargassum bloom season. Pool and jacuzzi very nice. Photos and description very accurate. Coffee in condo delicious. All employees friendly, kind, and helpful.

Center of Playa

Location is excellent in walking distance of everything cool in Playa. A short 1.6 mile taxi ride to ferries of Isla mujeres and Cozumel. Dive shop across the street with boats leaving to dive snorkel or fish daily docked off beach. We will be using this as the beginning and end days on our way to and from Tulum. Staff is all fluent in English and Andreas is superb in literally going and running for ANYTHING you want. Please tip them well! Great shopping as well. Very strict on quietness after 10 Louis in the restaurant is awesome too.

Absolutely fabulous!

I don't usually leave reviews but this place deserves one! The room was gorgeous and had everything we needed and more. Having a washer and dryer in a beachfront room was such a wonderful treat! This room was steps away from the restaurant, pool and beach. The hotel facilities were gorgeously landscaped - a complete jungle paradise! When we return to Playa del Carmen we will definitely be staying here again!

Everything was nice with 2 exceptions. One was I spotted cockroaches, not alot but there were some around. Second, the hand held shower worked but was unable to get the shower head to operate.
