"Lovely friendly staff from the minute we arrived until we left. Living under the Heathrow flight path, the silence was wonderful. The only sound we could hear was seagulls and the occasional wood pidgin. Wonderful four day break."

"If you are looking for a vfm option in West Bay this hotel is the place. We had room 7 on the first floor, spacious, whirlpool bath and even a teapot. In our opinion 2 negatives for this room, the mattress was way too soft and the seagulls from 0400hrs, can't really do anything about the 2nd being near the sea!!! The breakfast is quality, great choice and only £10 per day. The hotel is not statebor modern if that is what you are looking for, however the atmosphere and staff make up for it."

"We stayed in the deluxe double room and it was beautiful! Hotel was great location for exploring Dorset. Breakfast was perfect and we had dinner there the first night which was excellent. Staff all friendly, helpful. Courtyard garden was lovely. Catered for my gluten intolerance. Would highly recommend "

"If you fancy a comfortable, clean and friendly Dorset inn with the best of breakfasts and delicious high quality meals, book in at The Marquis of Lorne. "Great to find a B&B for three adults, something that is not so easy. It was situated close to the road but we could sleep well as the rooms don't look at the road. It's situation is perfect to move in the area as it's not in the centre of one of the touristic towns. The garden looks very pleasant had we got time to relax. The breakfast room is very nice with a lot of options to choose from. We really felt welcomed "
