MOUSIKI, elegant villa with pool, terrace, and garden. 450 m from the beach

Elegant Villa Mousiki (mousiki being the Greek word for music) with private swimming pool, terrace, lawn, fruit-trees, vegetable, and herb garden. Located in Maleme village west of Chania, and only 450 meters by a country lane from the beach. The property is surrounded on 2 sides by wild bamboo trees and olive groves. All amenities including grocery shops and a good selection of restaurants and cafés are within a short walking distance. The bus stop with regular service to Chania town and westwards towards Kolymbari is also a few minutes’ walk from the villa.

The two story main villa comprises 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a large open kitchen (with dining table seating 6) and living room, and a music room (2nd living room).

The ground floor main entrance leads to the music room with electric piano and guitar, and a sofa bed which sleeps 2. This room leads to the spacious hall which accesses the ground floor bedroom, a bathroom, the kitchen and living room with large sliding doors to the terrace, and the staircase leading to the 2nd floor.

The second floor includes 2 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and each with private terrace, as well as a laundry nook with washing machine and dryer.

In addition, in the garden, there is a fully equipped guest house that comfortably sleeps 2-4 persons. The guest house has a double bed, a bathroom with washing machine, a TV, a desk, a kitchenette, a sofa bed which sleeps 2, and a private terrace with access to the lawn, pool, and garden.

Fully equipped with all modern amenities and facilities, the interior is meticulously designed and thoughtfully inspired by a blend of modern Greek and contemporary Swedish elements. The owners work within the music business, hence the villa’s name and musical touch.
Outdoors, a pergola covered terrace with lounge and dining area has views towards the pool and lawn. The lawn is scattered with lemon and orange trees, olive trees, an herb garden, and a vegetable garden which guests are welcomed to help themselves of.

The villa is mainly furnished for 8 guests, but with the 2 sofa-beds it can sleep up to 12 guests.

Note: the photos were taken in 2019, and do not do justice to the lovely garden which has now matured and is filled with beautiful flowers, trees and shrubs.

Please note: the property is not suitable for young children as it has an unsecured drop from the terrace/pool area towards the road. Also, as the villa is located on the main road of the village, there is traffic which can be heard from the upstairs balconies as well as the downstairs bedroom and music room. All windows and terrace doors however, are with triple glass ensuring a minimum amount of sound from the road. During the evening traffic is less, and with the use of air-con, the bedrooms are quiet. The guest house in the garden is not affected by any noise.

God kommunikation med Alexandra omkring leje af huset Villa Mousiki, Maleme. Modtagelse og rundvisning ved ankomst meget varm og informativ ved Evi. Huset er fantastisk dejligt og smukt indrettet, med flere skønne værelser og tilhørende badeværelser, et seperat anneks var så dejligt til de i familien med lille baby. Hele huset er med velfungerende aircondition. Alt hvad køkkenhaven byder på, mens man er i huset er til fri afbenyttelse, tomater, lime,avocado, kartofler mm. Vi følte os dejligt hjemme i huset, og vil gerne anbefale huset til andre. Køkkenet fuldt udstyret , der manglede ikke noget som helst. Poolen ren og blev passet og renset i ugens løb. Vi fik (adviseret) besøg af Alexandra, hyggeligt at snakke med hende og vi blev begavet med græske lokale specialiteter. TAK. Haven helt lukket og privat. En skøn stor terrasse overdækket, med stort spisebord, sofa og sofabord. Masser af komfortable liggestole omkring poolen. Indkøbsmulighed , stort velassorteret supermarked 500 m fra huset. Et stort ønske til huset kunne være en stor taske på hjul, til storindkøb… vi var en familie på 10 og der skulle købes meget mad ind og specielt vand på flaske er tungt at gå med i den varme højsæson. Tak og vores varmeste anbefalinger. Vi håber at komme tilbage en anden gang.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans la villa Mousiki avec notre famille de 9 personnes. Nous avons apprécié l’agencement de la maison avec tout le confort et les équipements, la piscine, le jardin très vert et agréable, l’espace comfortable, le barbecue, la proximité de la plage, l’accueil de Evi et pour nous les parents, la petite maison était superbe. Belles prestations, nous recommandons cette villa pour un séjour en Crète.

It was a sincere pleasure staying at Alexandra's villa! The space is super clean, well-decorated and well-stocked! It has everything you could possibly need and in a beautiful package to boot. The backyard is the main star of this listing though and the garden a real highlight, a diverse vegetable and herb garden that we were warmly encouraged to pick and eat from! Tomatoes, eggplants, chili peppers, watermelons, basil, the works! Totally yummy! We also loved the music room - my husband enjoyed playing the guitar and free-styling on the keyboard for a family singalong :) Thanks again, Alexandra and Evi !!

Villa Mousiki is a truely wonderful place! Very clean, beautifully equipped house with a view on the ocean and a big pool to cool off during hot summer days. Also Alexandra is available 24/7 and tries to anticipate every wish a guest might have. A big recommendation for everyone that wants to enjoy a few relaxing days with family or friends on Crete, near the beautiful and lively city of Chania. We will be back!

Staying at Villa Mousiki has been by far one of my best experiences! It’s like a home away from home. With a beautiful garden, great pool and sun deck, large living spaces, fresh bathrooms, fully equipped house and a view to die for there’s nothing to complain about. You are five minute walk from the nearest beach and if you rent a car you can easily drive to breathtaking beaches and hike trails. We will definitely go back next year!!!

Beautiful villa with space for up to 12 people. Amazing garden with a pool, sunbeds, outdoor shower, lots of flowers, fruit trees and a herb garden. Spacious and modern kitchen. The social areas indoors and outdoors have a really cosy and genuine feeling. Seaview from the second floor, comfortable beds. The area is calm, but even so there are several good restaurants, supermarket, ATM, coffee shop etc. nearby. I enjoyed our stay very much and would gladly recommend it!
