I was in Placentia for work and stayed at Castle Landing. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcome. The hosts were friendly, accommodating, and made sure I had everything I needed. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and quiet, making it easy to relax after a busy day. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and would gladly stay there again the next time I'm in the area.

1. Friendly and useful advice. 2. Large common room encouraging interaction with other travelers. 3. Good breakfast options and always available coffee. 4. Staff eager to help and discuss local options. 5. Rooms all keyed so no worry to leave valuables in them. 6. You feel at ease. As close to home as you will feel when traveling.

The owners were not on site which I don't like but that's their business. The rooms were very crowded with furniture and decor items. It felt claustrophobic to me. Breakfast seemed like a Costco run: breads and muffins, cereal.

The property was immaculate, close to everything and offered lots of room to relax. Only complaint was the lack of internet for the TV. They had cable but the internet was so poor that you only could watch a few seconds of TV and then had to wait several minutes to watch a few seconds more. Other than this annoyance, it was really an excellent place to stay and a nice breakfast in the morning.

The place is so cluttered with stuff and rooms full of oversized furniture there is nowhere for the guests to put their suitcases, personal belongings in the bathroom or on bedside tables. The owner felt the need to interject herself in all of our conversations, at one point yelling across the room interrupting our breakfast. She had a persnickety attitude and kept insinuating the problems we were having with the door codes to get into our rooms were our own, when in fact we were given the wrong code on 2 different occasions. We understand things happen, no problem, but her attitude was very off putting. The place itself is beautiful, they have done high quality renovations and the beds were amazingly comfortable. Unfortunately that is the only positive thing I have to say. If you are an empath or energetically sensitive- steer clear. This is not a place you want to subject yourself to.
