Everything was WONDERFUL! (And immaculately clean)The grounds and gardens were pristine and the Pier, that we had coffee on every morning, had beautiful wood chairs and cushions. We loved sitting out there, on the edge of the ocean, just relaxing, getting some sun and even saw dolphins. Clean, well appointed kitchen (everything you needed)The staff lined up couples massages and they came to the house and did those outside by the pool. Amazing!Situated close to everything (we had bikes so it was easy to get everywhere). And since its on the waterway, you can easily get picked up via boat to go fishing, etc.Gail was lovely and Paul was more than hospitable when he picked us up at the airport. Overall, an amazing week with many new memories made!

Gail and Paul are the most gracious and welcoming hosts. The property was wonderful-beautiful and relaxing and just a short walk to the village and restaurants. We cant wait to visit again

Our vacation at this villa was outstanding. The property is lushly landscaped, the views are spectacular and the house was fully equipped and spotless. Our hosts and caretakers were very kind and accommodating. We enjoyed meeting them. Placencia is fun to explore with its interesting people, beautiful beaches, artisans and food. Highly recommend Placencia as a vacation destination.

The Starfish property underpromises and overdelivers. The landscape is stunning, designed for both relaxation and entertainment, with plenty of seating areas throughout the yard. We spent mornings and evenings on the dock, covered by the palapa during tropical showers, and swimming straight off the ladder where we saw tons of fish, plus a dolphin and even a manatee.The house is in a great location—just a 10–15 minute walk to the village. Even with a car, we often walked to enjoy the views. Inside, it had everything we needed with plenty of space to relax.The owner, Gail, was responsive and informative from the start, and the caretakers, Luisa and her family, live next door and do a fantastic job. Luisa went above and beyond: she picked us up at the airport as a courtesy, offered to take us to the market and pick up our rental car (we declined since the company was already arranging pickup), and even offered a ride back to the airport at the end. On a hot afternoon, they surprised us with fresh coconuts harvested right on the property.We experienced only a couple of brief power outages, but everything was restored quickly. The location is also a huge plus: while Placencia was struggling with sargassum seaweed during our stay, Starfish’s geography meant we could still fully enjoy the water.We will definitely be back—Starfish is the perfect space to unwind, recharge, or even get some work done.

Oasis of relaxation

Fantastic property and hosts! The house is beautifully decorated, comfortable and clean. The kitchen is very well appointed, if you like to cook as we do. The grounds, pool and BBQ area are amazing and we put them to full use. Very private and easy walking distance to town. Don't hesitate, book!

Paradise found

I can’t say enough positive things about Gail and Pauls property! The location was perfect! We were able to walk to Placencia Village to the vast assortment of restaurants, shops and the beautiful beach. When we were heading out on various excursions (which Gail and Paul booked for us) we were able to walk across the street to their dock and get picked up either by boat or van. All of the excursions they recommended were outstanding! We especially enjoyed our trip down Monkey River and through the jungle with Percy…we loved the day tour so much we went back at night time!The Villa was beautiful both inside and out. The tropical gardens were amazing, the dock with the palapa was our favorite hang out both day and night! So many stars…Inside was equally beautiful. The accommodations were really comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped. Do not hesitate to stay here! We are absolutely coming back again!

Amazing stay

We loved Belize and loved this property. The house, pool, and grounds are amazing. The dock and overwater thatch hut are even better. The property manager Louisa was incredibly helpful and flexible. The hosts were responsive. We loved Placencia, its people, and the food.

Great spot and wonderful hosts

This is a beautiful place to stay in Placencia. Close to everything - restaurants, beach, grocery stores, so no need for a car. The pool and grounds are amazing, and the temperature drops as soon as you walk into the garden!

A perfect getaway!

We absolutely loved our stay at Starfish Villa! The property was just as listed and the photos were accurate but of course didn’t really do it justice. The pool was amazing, the dock with a an authentic palapa was a great hangout, and the rooftop deck was a perfect spot to watch the sunsets. It was a short 10 minute stroll to the village where you can find restaurants, bars, markets, and everything you need. The hosts and caretakers are very helpful and knowledgeable, and are happy to share their recommendations for local outings. We really enjoyed the Monkey River tour with Percy and also having the Thai Massage team come to the villa for spa treatments. I highly recommend Starfish Villa for your next vacation!

Perfect relaxation spot

Starfish Villa is an amazing property. The covered dock over water is shaded with a constant light breeze making it a terrific spot to relax. The pool is large and has great views of the water. Fabulous outdoor kitchen with large grill, full size refrigerator, and lots of seating. Outdoor area is well lite at night. Sunsets from 3rd floor are amazing. Caretakers on the property are kind and helpful. It’s a short walk into town but we rented a golf cart which made it easier to transport groceries. Highly recommend Starfish Villa.

Absolutely perfect!

My family absolutely loved staying at Starfish Villa! We spent several days just relaxing by the pool and exploring the beautiful gardens. It was hard to leave to go on our excursions! I would highly recommend this gorgeous property and we hope to return.

Beautiful Property

The house and outdoor area were absolutely beautiful; it truly is like a tropical paradise. There are several nice places outdoor to have evening cocktails including the palapa, the covered deck on top of the house, and the pool area. The house was easy walking distance to the village with several good restaurants. And the caretaker was very helpful. Overall, it was a great experience.

Relaxation

Starfish Villa was a perfect place to spend a week relaxing with family. The unit is great and the property grounds are beautiful. Pool was very refreshing in the 35-40 degree heat. Gail was a great host who is a good source of info for local places to eat, things to see, etc.

Beautiful Villa!

Our family really enjoyed our week stay at Starfish Villa in Placencia! The grounds of the house are absolutely gorgeous and the pool was a big hit with our family. We enjoyed returning each afternoon to swim and hang out. We loved the seating up on the top deck - I would enjoy my morning coffee up there listening to all the birds. The inside of the house was very nice and clean too. Our favorite was the outdoor shower! Paul and Gail were so welcoming to us and helpful in setting up some great tours. We loved a snorkeling excursion on Blue Water Sailing catamaran and the monkey river tour with Percy was really fun. We did another snorkeling excursion with Splash that was also really nice. The caretakers of the property were also very friendly and helpful too. The village is about a ten minute walk and we would walk back and forth easily a few times a day. There are plenty of good local restaurants and Tutti Frutti gelato was a favorite. You can also easily rent a golf cart for a day or two to explore farther down the peninsula a bit but it is not necessary. Thank you for the great stay - we hope to visit again!

A very special place

As so many have said before me, the pictures don't do the property justice. The property grounds and view are even more gorgeous than photos can capture. The location is perfect--an easy and interesting walk to town; and a bit further down a path, and you'll arrive on the "sidewalk" boardwalk and then the beach. We LOVED the town and the beaches--and the good assortment of restaurants and of course, the gelato at Tutti Fruitti! (Interestingly, we recently came back from a trip to Puglia Italy and enjoyed the gelato here in Belize as much as we did in Italy!) The house is well appointed and has everything one may need for a getaway. The pool was a refreshing treat throughout the day. We especially enjoyed watching sunrises and sunsets from the dock palapas or the rooftop deck. The hosts and groundkeepers were friendly and helpful. We will most definitely be back to Placencia and would love to come back to Gail and Paul's when we do.

Perfection in Placencia!

We stayed for a week and loved everything about the property from the beautiful grounds with all the amazing landscaping, the pool, bar and grill area to the lovely and relaxing dock with palapa to the roof top deck. The interior is spacious, beautifully decorated had all the creature comforts of home. The owners went so above and beyond to help is make sure our stay was amazing - just cant thank them enough! We had our wedding here and it was perfect. While our ceremony was small you could easily host a much larger one here on yhe grounds and not feel crowded. Its just the best spot in town. Even our wedding planner who has done over 1000 ceremonies in Belize was talking about want to refer clients here! Just book it. You wont regret it!

Perfect spot!

This is one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. Hosts are friendly, helped plan some day trips and even enjoyed some tequila with the guys. The palapa is perfect for watching fish, yoga and drinking wine in the pouring rain. The pool is a clean and crisp refresher. The gardens! If you love to wander and look at fauna, I think there’s over 10 varieties of orchids here. So many other plants as well! The grounds are also very alive in lizards! This house was a great place to be. Short walk, or cart ride to town and great swimming beaches. Highly recommend this place.

Amazing property and house!

One of the most beautiful and exquisitely manicured properties in which we have ever stayed. The pics don’t do the gardens/pool/dock justice. You have to see it yourself. The sunsets from the roof and the sunrises from the dock are incredible. We got a golf cart, Capt Jax was great) but you are within walking distance to great restaurants. Make sure you try Wendy’s for breakfast and drinks and dinner at “The Other Side”. They come get you in a boat. Ring the bell! Luisa, Rolando, and Eddie (spelling?? Sorry) are the absolutely the best. They were there for whatever we needed. The tour of the town and recommendations were so helpful. Thanks to all.

A gem of a villa in a spectacular setting!

Loved our stay at this beautiful Villa down in Placencia village. We made good use of the private pool, dock and roof deck. The sunrises and sunsets were fabulous. It was a huge bonus to be able to view the Thurs. night football game on the large satellite TV - 1st game of the 2023 season!!! The Bluetooth speakers were a nice touch by the pool - thank you! We will be back and Lousia was great and informative - nice find!
