The property was even better than we expected. Plenty of space for all 8 adults. The bedrooms were perfect. The entire staff was amazing Erica our concierge did a fabulous job answering all our questions and helping out with anything we needed. Yeyme our house keeper did an amazing job. She was so unobtrusive. We hardly knew she was there and then everything was cleaned and laundry done. Jorge, the groundskeeper, was so much fun and made us feel so welcomed. He even taught us how to cut open coconuts so we could try it for ourselves. He is such a kind individual. And last but not least, our chef, Omar. Amongst our group, we had quite a wide range of food preferences and every single meal he made appealed to us all. Not only was the food delicious, but it was displayed in such an artistic, beautiful manner. We planned our activities around his meals because they were so good and we were unwilling to miss a meal much less be late. If you get a chance to rent this house, we highly recommend it. And if you enjoy wonderful food, request Omar for your chef- you won’t regret it.

Mission Bay

Great location. House was clean, but could use some updating. Kitchen pans were sub par at best and missing lots of basic serving ware. The layout is super weird and hard to navigate at first. Could add an outdoor staircase from the kitchen area to the pool to help with that. It would be nice to have some more outdoor furniture too on the deck off the kitchen and on the pier. Kids enjoyed the pool and the beach and the location worked well for our group. Would not recommend for kids with young kids, but good for groups needing space to spread out. Overall, worked well for our trip and price point.

This place is wonderful for a Group, lots of individual, yet private space, views, location was wonderful, The Chef( we weren't sure on this as have never had)-Wonderful experience, food, and a true Help in meals, House was clean and as advertised-, The Caretake Jorge & Housekeeper Yesyme-- PRICELESS-- They were kind, informative, helpful beyond.. Love the property care takers!

Yayme and Jorge were wonderful. I don't think I've had better. They were friendly and took great care of us. I had some communication problem with our concierge, Erica. Mission Villa is in a perfect location. We really enjoyed ourselves.

This place is amazing!

We went on a birthday trip with 8 ladies and this villa was perfect! The location is great and the house is beautiful. It's right on the beach! Everyone had their own bed and each room had it's own private entrance. We had a lot of fun getting to town on the golf carts. All of the on-site staff were very helpful and wonderful to us during our stay. The concierge, Erica was so great from the day we booked this place, she was so helpful with the planning of meals and excursions and was always available if we had any questions or concerns while there too! The chef made delicious meals and really made it easy for all of us with dietary restrictions. And don't forget about the cutest villa cat "mission" who entertained us with his daily naps and nocturnal energy! I would say the only negative thing we experienced was figuring out the separate grocery/chef and tip bills at the end of trip. Getting that all figured out was not fun, I would suggest that gecko reservations finds a better method for that.

Great Place!

We enjoyed our time at Mission Bay chef. Anthony was awesome and we had the best meals on the days he cooked for us. Beautiful sunrise. We were a group of 8 adults and the house was perfect for us.

Mission Bay Villa, Placencia, Belize

Our stay was absolutely amazing! The staff could not have done better or more! They took extremely good care of me and my family of 11. Should have had Anthony (the chef) cook for us all week - best food ever! None of us wanted to leave and are already thinking about returning! HIGHLY recommend staying at Mission Bay and visiting Placencia! People are so nice and it’s beautiful there!

Birthday Getaway

We had 11 people attend a birthday celebration. The house was perfect as each couple got their own room and the staff (Chef and House Manager) was fantastic....They were very helpful with everything - never had a worry about anything.

Great staff and location - listing slightly off on bedrooms

Overall we had a great stay. 7 adults and 4 kids. The layout of this house is awkward is why I am not rating it higher. The bedroom adjoining the open kitchen and living area has a wall that does not reach the ceiling and swing doors. This limits privacy and the ability for those occupants to go to bed/sleep in if others are in the living room or kitchen. Also, the house is extremely choppy as one has to go outside and take different stairwells to get to different rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors. Not a deal breaker - but felt the bedroom should have been called out at a minimum.

Great Stay

Belizean Vacay

Mission Bay Villa was Awesome. Namir was the best hostess and housekeeper. Chef Anthony's food was amazing. Olvin the caretaker keeps the grounds in immaculate condition. We loved the pier and spent a lot of time there and in the pool. It was a fantastic trip.

Fun at Mission Bay

11 of us stayed and visited Belize as a big family vacation. The staff (Anthony, Namir, Olvin and Maverick) were super friendly and accommodating. There were plenty of things to do at the house which we took part in like paddle boarding, kayaking and just sitting on the dock. It was great.

Wonderful Villa

We had a large family of 12. Namir and Anthony took very good care of us and the Villa. They were so accommodating in everyone’s wants and needs. They both made our stay very enjoyable. We had never experienced chef services and housekeeping with VRBO. Highly recommended 😎

Perfect family vacation

This was a perfect vacation spot for our family-9 adults and one infant. From booking and communicating info on tours, to housekeeping, to the chef. Relaxing, safe, beautiful! We're all ready to go back.

Perfection

We had two families traveling together for a total of nine adults. The accommodations worked perfectly for us. Each of four couples had a private room with an en suite, as did the one single person. The rest of the time we gathered in the open-to-the-outside first floor dining and living area. It was perfect for reading, eating, playing games and taking in the beautiful view. From there, it was just a few steps to the pool or the ocean. We enjoyed the golf cart rides into Placencia (about 25 minutes). The staff was truly amazing! The caretaker, chef and housekeeper were all friendly and great at what they did. We enjoyed visiting with them, but they never intruded. We have no complaints, and would happily stay here again.

Spectacular place!!

We loved this place! It was super clean, and our hosts were amazing and blessed us with some amazing meals. Our only regret is we didn't have them cook more for us. Namir and Anthony were the best!!! The only small complaint we have is the paddle boards did not appear to be very sea-worthy. Otherwise, we would absolutely stay here again in the future.

Can’t wait to return!

Mission Bay is exactly what you would expect; lovely beach, great pool, perfect house, and a terrific location! Even with a large group, all the bedrooms felt private and we had great spaces to spend time all together. The staff was amazing and kept everything very clean and organized. The chef prepared delicious meals and made accommodations, as needed. It’s the rainy season in Belize, yet we still had great weather, just some rain at night. The village was very quiet, making it a great time to go, though some places were shut down during this slow time. We cannot wait to go back to Belize and will definitely be staying at Mission Bay again!

Five Star Stay

From the beginning it was a perfect vacation. We had arranged a shuttle from the airport and when we arrived they had chips and salsa and tropic juice waiting for us. It was nice having our own pool and the beach was right outside the gate. Super convenient with the golf cart to get to restaurant and stores. I will be honest, if anyone rates this less than a 5 I am not sure what they are looking for in a vacation home.

Family Beach Adventure 2021

We loved Belize and it’s people! After rescheduling 3 times due to Covid we finally made it! Seventeen in our group - age range 64 down to 18 months! The property was perfect - although it obviously needed a little TLC (we were told changes were coming)! Namur and Anthony were the best - they treated us like family and we were sad to leave them! The pool and beach and dock were awesome! There was a lot of sargassum seaweed but that was out of our control!

Unbelizeable!

It was amazing and fulfilled all of our dreams and expectations! Our caretaker Namir was beyond helpful! She answered all of our questions and was very considerate of all of our needs. She is wonderful! The villa met all of our needs- plenty of bedrooms, kitchen, living room, plenty of beach, sun and shade, plus the pool! We chose not to do any tours because of covid, no need to, the villa had so much to offer. We had such a relaxing time, lots of games, poolside, meals and bonding with family. We spent a lot of time in the outdoor sitting area. Never a bad moment! Our family consisted of 8 - us, my husband and I -(the grandparents), our children and theirs, (our grandchildren). Never a dull or bored moment! We did use the golf cart for a daily trip to get groceries. Everything fresh and different everyday. Great experience. We also took a taxi to the village for some Balizian life experiance. Thank you for opening up the villa to us. We do plan to come back when covid leaves us alone so we can once again enjoy the laid back life of Belize, maybe stay longer!
