VRBO had limited details on amenities, so we sent inquiries. Management was slow to respond. The house itself is quite spacious and grand, with multiple areas for people to gather. The yard is large but neither level nor particularly well-maintained. You can see that it was once quite attractive. We arrived at 4 PM, the cleaners were still busy and worked until almost 6 PM. They had opened windows and doors causing the temperature to reach the mid-80’s and letting in flies and gnats. The AC system struggled to cool the house, particularly the 2nd floor. The management company had told us that the system had been checked but we found that the filters hadn’t been changed since 5/22. The AC system never stopped so it seems some serious maintenance is required.
Poor service and potential improvements:
The house alarm went off randomly and they told us to look up the manual online.
We were told there was a BBQ. We found a BBQ cover in the garage, but no BBQ.
The coffee maker did not work. We replaced it (and left it for future renters).
The house sleeps at least 14, but the dining room table only seats 8, so you’ll be split up at mealtime.
Only table settings for 12 people.
The balconies are lovely. However, no furniture.
Only enough basics like trash bags, paper towels and toilet paper for a day or two.
Bare minimum of towels and washcloths.
No booklet with TV or thermostat instructions.
Repair the pool table.
A nice enough house could be better managed and maintained.
