I was fortunate to have a 21 day stay at this property end of Feb & Mar. Summer season for Cusco. Lucky for me, most days, the weather was great for sitting outdoors to enjoy crisp, cool mornings and evenings on the patio or under mature trees looking at the mountains that surround the area of Pisac. There was lots of sporadic rain to plan around. There is Spanish speaking staff on the property at all times that can help with check in/out, calling a taxi or mototaxi, shopping, touring information, etc. but English is very limited. Mr Choque & Ms Jesusa were very friendly, helpful and wanted to make sure I had everything I needed during my stay. Lovely people. Jesusa came in daily to fix breakfast, coffee, tea, bread, yogurt, cereal, eggs, cheese. I love to cook, so she took me to the local market and showed me from whom to buy fruit, veggies, meat & groceries. We were curious about how the other cooked so we cooked together sometimes. It was great to have a sous chef at breakfast. ;-) She will also do laundry for a small fee. Note - they freely come & go into the house, do their best to make your stay comfortable and help in anyway they can, gratuities not expected but greatly appreciated. The house has 2 spacious living/dining areas, a breakfast bar in the well equipped kitchen, (kitchen needs better lighting), 4 bedrooms separated from the living areas, 4 full bathrooms. You could sleep 10 people, 2 rooms have a bunk & 2 twins each. There is no central heat or air in the house. Choque built a lovely fire in the main living area nightly. There is no heat in bedrooms. There is a wood stove in the hall of the sleeping wing but it was not used. I just put an extra blanket on the bed. There are down comforters on all beds. Extra bath towels provided upon request. You can walk to Rio Vilcanota from the house for a nice hike along the river. The pueblo is 15 min walk away or 5 mins by mototaxi. It's dirt roads so walking is smoother than the bumpy ride in the mototaxi. There are many local & tourist restaurants to try in Pisac. There is an Italian dinner resto and an Andean lunch resto within 3-4 min walk away. The owners of the property were quick to respond to requests and questions about anything from driving directions, trains, road conditions, transportation, weather, Cusco, etc. We will visit Peru again. Martina Wasi will be our destination in Pisac.
