They send an email with the code to a box with the key that is located outside of the building. Even though I sent a message asking for the check in instructions in advance, I didn't receive this email prior to leaving the hotel I stayed in the previous night. Thankfully a fellow hotel guest was coming out of the hotel and was able to help me obtain the wifi code so I could check my email when I arrived. The cell signal at the hotel was not strong enough for me to open my email. Once I got my key the hotel was clean. It was warm with no AC. The body wash/shampoo was almost empty upon our arrival and one of us had to use the hand soap. When we departed there was free coffee/tea/and cold cereal available complimentary which was a nice surprise.

Our room was very clean and comfortable. We had a late check in, but this was very easy at this hotel. The location is perfect if you have a car and are going to Neuschwanstein. Very close to Fussen, but I’m a nice quiet town.

Very clean and tidy!! Loved the room in building across the street and wonderful balcony. Arrived at check in time 1600, I went to check in and nobody was at the front desk, so after 15 min I called and they confirmed my reservation and told me the combination to a lock box near the front door to get my room keys. This is a pension not a hotel ( in the American sense). Check in is at 4:00 pm. Check out is at 7-9 AM so if you need more than 12 hours in a room. Find another place. Not many (3-4) restaurants are near the place, and none are within walking distance. Esso station has good breakfast.

It was our second stay here, but this time we had my mother with us too. The hotel kindly moved her to a room on the first floor when they realised her age and fitness level. We noticed that the staff didn't wear masks in public spaces and guests were not encouraged to do so either, even though there was a sign by the door clearly stating that masks should be worn. We were definitely the odd ones out and felt that my mother was more at risk here than in Germany.

Quiet, relaxing, comfortable stay in perhaps one of the most gorgeous settings in Europe. The Tannheim mountain range sits outside your window as you enjoy the cool summer mornings and evenings watching the fog roll in. We highly recommend this little hotel - it is all you need.

Super friendly staff providing a warm welcome. Cute slightly remote hotel within a short drive to everything. Beautiful view and surrounds. Very quiet too. Easy parking outside. Perfect breakfast. Clean and spacious room. Drinking water provided was a bonus. Excellent local tips. Highly recommend!

We had an absolutely lovely stay! It felt like an authentic Austrian experience in a small village especially with the warm welcome and free family style breakfast. The room was perfectly clean and everything was well taken care of. The beds were sooo comfy that we slept over 10 HOURS!!!!! I usually only sleep 6 or 7!

We had booked a large suite which we specified on Hotels.com should be two separate beds. When we Got there the room only had one king size bed. The folks at the front desk apologized and gave us two slightly smaller single rooms for the same price. Kudos to them! NOT so much for Hotels.com. Won’t be booking thru them anymore as this was the 2nd problem I’ve experienced with them in a month.

We loved our stay. The staff could not have been friendlier. They were extremely helpful. Breakfast was excellent and we loved the location - away from the hustle and bustle and surrounded by amazing mountains.

Hospitality and breakfast were first class. Rooms very spacious and clean. Views were breathtaking. Bathrooms cute and entirely serviceable but a little dated. Overall decor traditional. The lobby contains many brochures of things to do including an excellent guide to local hikes and biking routes “Tourenguide Naturparkregion Reutte”. I wish we had allowed more time to tour this region. Highly recommended if you are touring this region. We chose it for its proximity to Hohenschwangau.

Very friendly welcome. Comfortable room although the pillows were much too soft so we didn't sleep so well. Fantastic breakfast. Would have appreciated tea and coffee making facilities in the room. I need my cuppa tea when I wake up! Fabulous views and easy walk to nearest restaurant . I's definitely stay here again. Would love to see what it looks like in the snow.

Quite little town, room are a good size and very clean. Beds were very comfortable after a long day or hiking around. Hosts greeting you at the counter once you enter the building, gives you that warm feeling of being welcomed into their home. Breakfast was super, fresh and more that enough food for those types of people how walk up and don’t know exactly what they want right away. Hosts will also give you a list of places to eat in the area near by for dinner options upon request,

Nice basic hotel. If you are visiting the sites around and have a car, it is definetly good enough to spend the night. Check in is normally until 6pm but they have a solution for late arrivals. Check out is 10am breakfast until 9am.

This hotel is so charming and the location is so beautiful... Mountain View right out our window! Perfect distance from Ludwig’s castles and lovely Fussen. And the included breakfast is just amazing! I highly recommend you stay here!

What's not to like?
We needed an affordable place near the castles of the Bavarian kings and this hotel was perfect - quiet neighborhood, stunning scenery, and only about 20min from Neuschwanstein. The owners are incredibly nice and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. Overall, a VERY pleasant experience.

If you’re traveling in Germany and wish for an authentic experience this guest haus is nothing short of dreams and expectations. We toured Europe and found places to stay that enhanced our experience and this one was fantastic. The pictures show a few things that might make you think it’s outdated. But it was so clean and comfortable and fit into the Bayern appeal. Stay here it’s quaint, quiet, and beautiful and I hope to someday be back.

We loved staying at this adorable hotel! It was in the middle of beautiful scenery and very close to castles and cute towns. The room was exceptionally clean. The breakfast included was delicious and had a wide selection. The hotel staff was very friendly and nice. We would gladly stay at this hotel again!!!

A beautiful spot in the Alps
This is such a cute hotel set in the Alps. The service was great and the location was just wonderful and set off of the beaten path. There were plenty of restaurants, but a bit further from the hotel. We found one on 10 minutes away and it was some of the best food we've eaten. The breakfast was unbelievable and had plenty to choose from. We could have sat there for hours enjoying the location. Thanks for a great stay!
