We were emailed prior to our stay and advised to book in a time slot for swimming, as all swimming and gym sessions must be pre-booked.
The hotel is grand and traditional.
All staff we came across were friendly and helpful.
We had a family room in the hotel, which was spacious and clean. Our kids loved the bunk beds, and it was a lovely touch being left sweets and a colouring book.

"This was our second year here, due to the friendliness of the staff, the comfort of the room, the quality of the food and the location. You can do as much or as little as you like using this as a base. We just love the ambience of the whole area. We did trips by car, train, boat, bus as well as feet. Would visit again. "We loved this place. It was clean, comfortable, and a great base for exploring the area. Everything we needed in the kitchen was provided, including kettle, microwave, toaster, oven, hob and all the crockery, cutlery, etc.you could wish for. The shower was powerful and easy to use.
