"I booked 2 rooms, one was much bigger and was better than the other but both adequate for 1 night. The bathroom in the smaller room was unfinished but totally usable. The shared facilities were good, lovely lounge. Beds were not that comfortable to be honest. Garden and outside areas looked lovely, a bit too cold to use unfortunately. "This is the first negative review I've ever had to give. We stayed at The Golden Lion Hotel St. Ives. (13-14 Feb) We stayed in Room 20 which was very small and had the constant, very loud noise of the kitchen extractor humming. On the first night it was still on at 10.45pm and we had to ask Reception to deal with it and then it was back on, waking us up at 7pm. Whilst we understand the extractor has to be in use, this has ruined our relaxing break. We could not have a lie in or return to our...

"Great staff, very helpful. We were in room 1 which is a clean modern room. You do hear a little traffic noise but not enough that it's an issue. Just watch you don't rest a bare knee on the heated towel rail when you're sat on the toilet!"
