DO NOT BOOK THIS!

First off, Expedia should not even have this on their site. Apparently when you pay for the room through Expedia they do not process it completely and send it to the hotel. So then the hotel charges you whatever they want. You must give them a credit card at arrival. Second off, the staff is rude and unhelpful. Thirdly, the rooms are OLD!!!! They are a concrete cell basically. This was an all around BAD experience.

Great location and tucked away in a good spot with trees grass nice views. Quite and comfortable. Great rooms for the money.

Cozy

Very cozy room. Nice to have a patio to enjoy, especially in the morning. The internet was very disappointing. Otherwise, a very pleasant, reasonably priced place to spend a few days.

Awesome Resort

Would recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to get away from the city life (in the middle of the city) for some peace and quiet. Puppy friendly for sure. The bungalows are clean and comfortable. The grounds are shady and beautiful and the pool was very relaxing. Will be staying here often :)

Very relaxing..calm clean laid back

Wonderful Manager Eric and his staff very attentive...allowed for my group of five a very nice 4 days. Will be back for sure!

Stained bed cover, broken drywall

Place is dated and with deferred repairs. Pictures looked good online but the furniture is shabby. Terrible TV reception. Sheetrock over the shower was crumbled. Overall needs a deep clean. Not a roach trap but not nearly what we thought based on other reviews and the pics. Good price and safe enough so we stayed the one night.

Value for money

Nice pool area, good safe area with some good restaurants and shopping close by. Approx 5-10 min by car to go to downtown Scottsdale.

Good Vibrations

The staff at the Smoke Tree Bungalows could not be more friendly and accommodating. When I checked in, they had already prepared a BBQ smoker full of Brisket ready for incoming guests. They paired this with 2 buckets full of ice and complimentary beer, water and soda. I feel now that they are my close friends. Whenever I return to the Phoenix/Scottsdale area, I will always stay at the Smoke Tree Bungalows. Thank you!

Nette Bungalows

Wir hatten ein bungalow gebucht.leider war die zimmerbeschreibung nicht gut.Wir hätten lieber einen der grösseren bungalows mit küche,schöafzimmer genommen.es gibt grössere bungalows,aber wohl leider nicht bei E bookers buchbar. besonders gefiel mir der pool.sehr entspannend.

Charming but ...

Nice old style resort - lovely site with lots of trees & shade -convenient to shopping. But ... excercise room was sub-standard - spa that was mentioned did not exist - a little rundown.

I stay here every trip to Phoenix. Not your average hotel. Takes you back to an earlier era and offers a serene escape from the concrete and hustle of your typical accommodation.

Quiet oasis, perfectly located

I was in town for Thanksgiving with family and friends, who were almost all within 7 minutes! I like retro, non-chain hotels, so this 60's era, family-owned place appealed to me when I saw it online. That said, I was very glad to see their updates, making this a comfortable, modern and attractive place to stay. I loved eating breakfasts on my patio overlooking the beautiful grounds. The staff was incredibly responsive (even to a query in the wee hours). I will definitely return.

Great throw back to the old desert snowbird retreats

Don't be put off by the abandoned building look of this place from the street. Once on the grounds you will pleasantly surprised by this quiet, small desert resort located in the heart of Scotsdale. The grounds are spacious and very pleasant with real trees and grass ( not so common in AZ). There is a reasonably large heated pool. The property is also an informal sculpture garden with modernist metal art pieces, some fairly large, to surprise you on your walks. My room was quite spacious with a comfortable bed and tasteful current furnishings that would look fine in a home. The room also had 2 comfy chairs a large table, large flat screen tv, frig and microwave. All in all very pleasant, clean and comfortable. All in all a very agreeable place to stay that was an exceptional value. Located on block off Scotsdale road and a very short walk to a shopping center with gourmet food store and Trader Joes along with eateries and shops.

Secluded Place

Smoke Tree Resort was a nice, small, and secluded resort. The grounds had beautiful landscaping and the rooms/bungalows were bigger then what you would find at a name brand resort. Rooms were nicely decorated, staff was very friendly, and the resort was in a GREAT location.

Great Hideaway!

Very nice, quite, large rooms. Huge closet. Great for a family to spend a week at. Really close to downtown scottsdale with alot of shops and great foods. Even a Casino 10 mins away! Next time I visit the Phoenix area THIS is where I plan to stay. We just loved the peace and quite.

Quiet, lovely get away!

This hotel is extremely well located with special grocery store, restuarants, shopping and bus stop on main highway that gets you to Old Town and Shopping Mall. Nice experience and much cheaper than others in the area. Clean and comfortable. Padded chairs to lay out by the pool and beautiful, natural scenery and foilage.

I love classic Az hotels

This is a classic resort. If you are looking for fancy pools and $20 drinks it isn't for you. If you are looking for a clean,modern room, with lots of space and a garden with table outside your room. It is perfectly laid out and in the perfect location in Scottsdale: hotels in the area are twice as expensive. Family run by the Williams brothers who are there to help you. I am a fan indeed.

Good location and a clean updated room

the bungalow was a single room with a patio door as an entry door. The room has a fridge, microwave, flat screen TV, a desk with two chairs, two armchairs, iron board with an iron, a coffee maker (12 cups). The bathroom was clean. Shower head was a little low (and I'm not a tall guy: 5'7), but that was not a big deal. The glass patio door opens to a nice sort-of private patio with a patio table and two chairs. Bushes around serve as a green fence. Overall, I was really pleased.
