All through the booking process and from the moment we arrived, Chris was an amazing host. He answered all of our questions leading up to our arrival and made recommendations to restaurants and services that made our time here outstanding. Chris was incredibly kind and attentive and organized everything we needed to have a memorable stay.If you are looking for the perfect home and location in St Maarten you will not find a better option than Villa Orchid. Your doors open to a beautiful pool and sweeping views of the most beautiful beach I have ever visited. It was like having our own private beach just steps from our back lanai. I have to say that this has been my favorite VRBO experience to date and I hope to return someday soon.

This was a very enjoyable stay at Villa Orchid. Our host Chris and his staff were exceptional is attending to our 5 couples. The Villa was extremely clean, and maintained every other day by Lucy. And a few appliance issues were quickly managed by Daryl. All in all a great stay!

Hidden Gem

Overall great stay Issues reported were addressed immediately. Property manage (Chris), deserves 6 stars. House is spacious including enormous kitchen. Pool is great. View is to die for. Cons: location. Property is located on the southern East coast so be prepared for a 20-40 min ride to any location outside that immediate vicinity. There is a great boardwalk with plenty of shops and Resturant a short 5-10 drive. Cons: beach…heaps of sea moss clutter the beach making it unusable for anything other than a good sound and visual…They are working to get this issue resolved but until then don’t not factor this into your itinerary. I would stay there again.

Phenomenal, serene property 10/10!

The house is situated on a quiet street in a gated community. The house is MASSIVE. We walked in and couldn’t believe how huge the main living space is. There are 2 wings to the home and we had one family occupy 3 bedrooms on one side and the other family took the three in the other wing. The kitchen is great with everything you could need, including an ice machine. The outdoor space was truly spectacular. The covered veranda is huge with dining and chatting (and napping!) options. The veranda overlooks a fantastic pool and the ocean. While the waves are large and the beach isn’t great for swimming laps, it’s is so fun to bob in the waves and boogie board.. our kids had to be drug away from the waves to eat and exhausted themselves playing all day. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!

Villa Orchid

Plenty of room. Six bedroom, six and one half baths were great. Pool was large with floaties available. Location on our own beach was great. Plenty of indoor and outdoor furniture. Kitchen was large an well equipped. Separate icemaker was much used and appreciated. Air conditioner unit in every room. Roll-up security/hurricane shutters were appreciated even though we didn't use them. Location is secluded enough but still able to get anywhere on the island in around half an hour depending on traffic. Property manager, Chris, was especially friendly, responsive, and helpful. THANK-YOUWe were busy every day trying to see ALL the sights and activities on the island.

Highly Recommend!

On the beach in Guana Bay, beautiful pool. Outdoor area is very nice. 6 bedrooms - more than we needed but we really wanted the other amenities of this property. The Property Manager, Chris, was the best! Response time was immediate and he was helpful in his restaurant suggestions. He even helped us find a way to watch the Super Bowl in the house which was a huge plus! We had a rental car and everything was close enough. Kitchen was stocked well. We only had 6 adults but we didn’t think it would be crowded even with 12!

Best time ever.......

Family of ten had a great week at St. Maarten. The house was perfect for our needs. We loved the pool as a place to congregate. The proximity to a nearby trail along the coast line was an added bonus. Chris was very responsive to our questions and for advice and help in lining up catered meals and in house chef services. It was so worth it being able to eat fresh meals in the house most of the time. We arrived in the dark, and because the house is in a quite part of the island it was hard to find. Be sure you have google maps activated as street are poorly labeled.

Exceptional

We were traveling with three families ages 9 to 63. Property is in an extremely secure and beautiful area. Our host Chris exceeded all of our expectations, and the staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. The beach is beautiful and we had it to ourselves most days. A car is recommended to see the island and facilitate provisioning and adventuring. House is secluded away from the hustle and bustle of the port. All of our questions, and needs were quickly attended to. The kitchen is very well appointed and we were able to cook several group meals. I will definitely come back to this property. Thank you.

Couldn't have been any nicer

We have a group of five couples that have traveled together every year for the last eleven years staying in rental homes with five or more bedrooms. We have had multiple trips to Costa Rica, Belize, Turks Caicos and the Keys. This was our first trip to Saint Maarten and it was by far our best trip. Chris, the Host was amazing. He was responsive, easy to work with and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our trip. He made the check in process outstanding. The home was above our expectations and the beach was beautiful. The house was well equipped, the daily housekeepers kept the house spotless, the pool was very large with plenty of sitting areas and the view was absolutely gorgeous. Most homes we have stayed in don't supply daily essentials and this home did. It was very nice not having to go shipping for items the night we arrived or the next morning. We just relaxed by the pool. We will definitely be going back

An exceptional property and an amazing host!

This villa was absolutely perfect. Lots of bedrooms to accommodate our group and a large, well equipped kitchen. The beach is basically in the backyard. Guana Bay is scenic, the beach is beautiful and is essentially your own private paradise. The host, Chris went above and way beyond to make our stay a pleasure. He even took the time to take us into town to pick up some local BBQ and some provisions. He was always helpful to suggest activities and restaurants (which were exceptional). We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation with in St. Martin. Do not hesitate to book this wonderful villa.

The place was perfect for our family each having their own suite! Chris, was very helpful in giving us recommendations like for a personal chef, boat cruises and restaurants. It was great having a swimming pool, too. Definitely 5 stars!

Awesome stay

House was beautiful. House easily slept all three of our families in 6 spacious bedrooms. Everything was clean and well equipped. Ocean was just at the bottom of the garden. Beach was quiet all week and good for a swim. Chris was outstanding. He was always available whenever we needed him and had all the answers for all our requests about taxi's, things to do etc. We enjoyed eating outside with the great ocean views. Would definitely recommend staying here

Beautiful villa

Our group of 10 stayed at Villa Orchid for a week and we loved it. The villa is exactly as pictured and very clean. Chris is an excellent host, greeted us and showed us around when we arrived and even messaged during our stay to make sure everything was going well. The location is great, an easy drive (less than 10 minutes) to Phillipsburg for shopping and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again!

Celebrating 50 years in luxury

Among my friend group, we have a tradition where when each couple turns 50, we splurge on a luxury house somewhere tropical and treat each other like royalty. This year we went to St. Maarten and the island did not disappoint! In fact, my Dutch friend was able to see the King, Queen and Princess of Holland on their island tour, we swam with turtles, hiked a gorgeous nature trail, and visited several beaches, each more beautiful than the last. This property is located on the Dutch side about 30 minutes fro the airport. Chris, the property manager met us at the airport and took us first to a market for provisions, then on to the house. La Villa Orchid can be seen from the hilltop and the approach is breathtaking. Guana Bay, where the house is located, is on the Atlantic, making the sea a bit rough, but provides the sounds and scenery to unwind after a day of sightseeing and to lull you to sleep. The house is as pictured with some color variation, likely attributing to the additional/similar properties in the gated community. It is well appointed, including bath and beach towels, laundry, plenty of cookware, flatware and china, pool floats and lounge chairs. The manual explains how everything works, so do read it. A couple of sharp knives were desired, but with so many people using them it is hard to keep them sharp. One thing to note: the bathtub had a cracked valve that I conveniently found on day 1, when flooding the bathroom while filling the tub. Marble floors, plenty of towels and a top notch maintenance and cleaning crew made the experience quick and painless, and the tub was back in action in less than 2 hours! Chris communicated so well before during and after the trip. He was a wealth of information about the island, things to do, and places to go. His recommendations for boat/snorkel tours, beaches, restaurants and other activities were perfect. Check out was a breeze, additional staff, were friendly, helpful and excellent i their work. 100% recommend this luxury villa for your next "royal gathering."

Magical experience

Beautifully appointed house with everything you could possibly need to cook or swim or relax! Beds are very comfortable. Chris was so helpful in planning my husbands 80 birthday party! The house is more than what the pictures show!it’s amazing! The beach was a walk away which we enjoyed walking and we played in the ocean even though it was rough! (Strong swimmer advisory) Housekeepers kept it so clean everyday! What a treat!!!! I would rent this house again !

From check in to check out, our stay was relaxing and our entire group of 11 felt the house felt like home! The pool is large and we loved to hear the ocean as we sat and visited. The home is spacious and we never felt cramped at all! Do not hesitate to book this home!! It was fabulous..

Beautiful Home!

We had 11 adults stay and all of us loved the house! Privacy for every couple but plenty of space to gather either in the house or outside on the fantastic patio or poolside. The property manager, Chris, was wonderful - so helpful in every regard from checking in to helping us find places to eat or getting drivers. The house is somewhat remote so bring cash for drivers (they only accept cash!) All in all, we had a lovely vacation here! It’s the perfect place to get away but great beaches and restaurants are only a short drive away!

Oceanfront Villa Where Memories are Made

From the moment Chris picked us up at the airport to the very last minute of our 10 day stay we received nothing but 5 star service. Upon arriving at the house we were greeted by a beautiful platter of cheeses and fruit and a tropical fruit punch prepared by Jasmine (Chris's wife) and the sight and sounds of the most magnificant ocean which brought a much needed feeling of calmness to all. While the overall house is beautiful, spacious and spotless the outside dining and poolside areas with the ocean view is breathtaking. We spent the majority of our day before and after the beach outside sitting poolside, relaxing, eating, and playing games.Upon returning home each day, Evena (housekeeper) had the house in pristine condition. Many a meal was prepared in the fully equipped kitchen by some of our group. It wasn't until late at night when we all retired to the comfort of our bedrooms, which were so nicely made up each day by Evena, that we experienced the true comforts of getting the best night's sleep. The true beauty of this house can only be seen in person. As unbelievable as it appears in photos it is more magnificant in person. We highly recommend this beautiful villa for your next vacation. We look forward to returning as soon as possible. Definately a 5 plus rating! Thanks to all!

What an amazing experience!

We stayed at Hibiscus in late March 2022. The house is even better than the pictures. Pool is huge, beach is literally feet away, and the rooms are immaculate and large. Ocean is active enough to boogie board and body surf, super fun. They have tons of pool toys for the kids and lounge chairs for everyone. The kitchen has everything you need and the bbq grill works great. Oh and the host Chris is The Godfather of St Martin…you need it, he can get it. It felt like we had an on-call butler who answered any and all questions we had. He started our trip with a huge spread of cheese, crackers, fruit, and punch (with a kick!). He even sent back to us in the U.S. a wallet that we left behind at the house.

Excellent Host

Chris is an excellent host. We really enjoyed the home and the beach. I though the house was a good overall location for the island. We enjoyed the beach, snorkeled the rocks (there is a sunken barge by the rocks with lots of fish), hiked to the baths from the house, and enjoyed the pool. Chris was a super host. He picked us up from the airport, helped with luggage, and help us setup our departure test. My one regret is not asking enough questions and advice from Chris earlier in our stay.
