This property is in swift decline. The elevators have been down since before summer leaving one elevator for an entire building. There are long wait times in excess of 20 minutes. They are planning to shut down the other elevator once they finally get the other one back up, so I would avoid the property for the next year. The unit needs desperate attention, it is filthy. The master bathroom smells strongly of urine and there is a very used toilet plunger on display. The location is great but I would definitely stay at Beach Club or a similar property and avoid Emerald Isle. Lastly, I would avoid Southern Vacation Rentals. We paid more for early arrival at 1p only to still not have access until 3:40p (original check in was 4p) and I have emails of their “customer service” arguing with me to the point where I stopped responding to emails and let them argue with themselves. When we still didn’t receive the new door code via email after it was reset due to the code they issues not working, we were told we received the codes 20 days in advance to our arrival. We then had to call and tell them yes, but they reset the code that afternoon so we could finally gain entry. Beyond horrible customer service.
