Weekend in Louisville

This property was so cool!! It is tucked away up a big hill and it was super cool to be in the woods. The house itself was great for our purposes as well, we had 12 people and everyone was comfortable and we had a great time. Thanks again for the great weekend!!

Beautiful views inside and out of waterfalls.

We had a wonderful family Christmas in January with 8 adults and 3 little ones. Loved the open floor plan and all of the glass overlooking the waterfalls and woods. Electric fireplace is inviting and even puts out heat! Our hosts generously left the Christmas tree and decorations up for our family. Our crew loved the hot tub (quite large), the oven that goes to 550 (for pizza), the large bowls and utensils for cooking, and the beautiful scenery for walks, play, and photos.

Cozy with a beautiful property

Me and my whole family of 9 stayed here from out of state. It was a exactly as pictured and plenty of space. The teens enjoyed their own living space. The hot tub was warm and clean. We had a great time would definitely stay again if we ever visit the Louisville area again.

Family Vacation

This property was the perfect setting for our family retreat. The spacious and well-appointed rooms made everyone feel comfortable, and the beautiful surroundings offered plenty of opportunities for relaxation and bonding. The fully-equipped kitchen allowed us to prepare meals together, and the outdoor spaces were ideal for both quiet reflection and family fun. The location was serene, providing the perfect escape from our busy lives, yet still close enough to enjoy local attractions. Overall, it was a memorable experience that brought our family closer together with the help and kindness of the owners and Pixar!

Peaceful place in the woods

We had a great family vacation here! It was just the right size for our 10 people which included 3 kids under 4, a teen and 6 adults. We really enjoyed the space; the screened in porch was the big winner listening to the waterfall outside, the pool and hot tub were well maintained. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home. We had everything we could have needed!

Derby Weekend

We had a dream to go to the Kentucky Derby. had tickets for 2020, well we all know what happened then. We had Family and Friends join in on the Adventure and the rental was PERFECT. I just hope we were not too loud after 10 pm. Thanks for everything. This had all the things needed for a comfortable stay for 14 people.

Cute and quaint

We stayed here with a couple friends for a tournament in Buckner and had a great time! It was off the beaten path just enough to feel secluded and was perfect for our stay. I even ventured out for a short run on the quiet country roads which made my heart happy :)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The purpose of our trip was to get away for a relaxing vacation. The owners were there to welcome us on our arrival and were very hospitable. We bought food and everything we needed to be comfortable was provided. Be aware that telephone signal is weak in this area depending on your provider but their wi-fi was sufficient to enable calls as well as stream movies. The waterfall was down a few days but was repaired soon after. It is amazing and glad we were able to enjoy it while there. All of the amenities from the pool, hot tub, treehouse(which my youngest loved) were awesome. I have stayed in many vacation rentals but this one is one of the best. I definitely recommend you stay here.

Wonderful retreat!

This place was amazing! So many thoughtful details - coffee and spices stocked in the kitchen, plenty of towels for both shower and hot tub, and the beds and pillows - SO comfortable! The kids loved it, between the hot tub, frog pond, basketball hoop, playhouse and swing set there was something for everyone. The house itself is just so cool, beautiful decor. Can't say enough great things! We would love to come back!

Nice But Not What We Expected

No issues and it was a great property. Really nice owners but they actually live in the house they rent. The photos and description didn’t indicate this and we were surprised upon arrival. Even after reading the listing again we didn’t feel they made it clear they resided in the same house, along with their children. It all worked out and we just wanted a couple days away with friends so we made the most of it. I will definitely read all the details and ask questions in the future.

Bourbon Trail/get away

We had 3 couples that stayed here. We loved that anything we needed was there. The grounds were very nice. We had a bonfire which was started for us which was so nice. There was screened in porch were we played games in the evening. Hot tub was relaxing. The only reason why I did not do excellent for location was we had to drive a little farther for distilleries. I would stay again even though we had to drive further to get to distilleries. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay! Loved it !

Wonderful Waterfall Retreat Weekend

We really enjoyed checking out and enjoying each other's company this weekend. The home was well equipped with everything you need and want. The kids loved the pool and looking for frogs! The adults loved the hot tub! We made some great memories and would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday.

Big things!

When my 11 year old, my rarely happy 11 year old, said this was the perfect length for a great trip, something big has happened! I'd agree with him that this property is something special. It is well kept and seems "to have been built for a large family." The waterfall just outside the entrance is phenomenal! Apart from more time, my family couldn't ask for anything more.

Great GetAway for Families

The waterfall walkout is a great place to escape from the demands of the routine. Quiet, rustic setting, house is well equipped and nicely furnished. Grandchildren enjoyed pool, trampoline, creek, and large area to roam and explore. Waterfall creates great backdrop. Owner was great and responsive to all requests. Rooms were comfortable, bedding was excellent. We made 2 short day trips into Louisville-30-35 minutes away. Landscaping with rain and size of yard is a large task, but cutting grass just outside enclosed screen area and a little more attention to weed-eating on path to pool would have been appreciated. Overall, great experience, be aware that while it sleeps 12+ there is extra charge per person for large family group which was noted in booking process.

Great family getaway!

Our family had a fantastic time staying at the waterfall house! It was the perfect setup for our kids and also for my parents who came along for the trip. The kitchen was well equipped for making our meals and the kids had a great time in the pool. The interior was very clean and cozy. The exterior maintenance was a little lacking, but with a huge property like this, I can understand how it would be a lot to maintain. The Ahlers family was extremely friendly and great to work with. We would definitely stay again if we are ever in the area.

Beautiful, comfortable, clean!

We had a wonderful stay at the waterfall house! Our family gathering was very comfortable, all expectations met. The house was very clean, all amenities included - beyond what we are used to from rent houses. We enjoyed the waterfall, pool and other outdoor areas. Host were easy to contact and responsive to our questions. Highly recommended!

Rest, Relax and Enjoy

Over all we were very happy with our stay. A bit of a drive (40 min) to Louisville and 20 to grocery but we managed. Fire Pit only disappointment. To far from our beautiful patio location and kids sleeping, would have preferred that to be more private. Even if just a small fire ring. They are working hard to continue making improvements.
