Perfect location
My husband and I drove to Paris, KY for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary. Artistic lodging is located just a block off the Main Street. The spacious room is on the second floor of this beautifully restored home with original beautiful floors, a nice kitchen on the first floor and beautiful artwork adorning the walls. The full bathroom adjoining the room is also spacious and included everything necessary for our stay. The bedroom is nicely furnished and very comfortable! Everything was clean and we really enjoyed staying here

Kathy’s place is clean, quiet, and steeped in the history and culture of Paris Kentucky’s horse and bourbon culture. This historic home is a block away from Main Street food, drink, and boutique shops. Kathy has an art gallery downtown as well as a studio on the main floor of the house where aspiring artisans can take lessons and create. If you are looking for an experience, this is your place.

I am afraid to say how great it was, they’ll get super busy and might not be available the next time. I love visiting Paris, KY, and this was within walking to so much. It is an old home and you can sense the history. It was clean, comfortable, and the owner is a lovely host. Plus, I met an adorable kitty that visited to say hi.

Great house - Lovely stay
My room was perfect and so comfortable. 5 Stars for AC at this time of year - and for the great little sound machine Kathy includes! Not that it was noisy at all at night - just a really nice extra! Love that I was able to walk from the house to coffee & breakfast 1 block away in the morning and to 3 different - and great - places for dinner each eve! Truly enjoyed my stay!

I have to preface this with the fact that I did not actually get to stay in this property. The interior could very well have been lovely. The pictures indicated it would be. I booked this back in May/June and immediately received instructions on where to park and the code to access the property. We had a bad storm and our internet went out. So I did not realize the email had been deleted until five hours before check in. I was sick over it and I prayed I could get in contact with the host. Unfortunately, I did not hear back from the host until 2 hours after check in, (7 hours after initial contact attempt.) I had to find other accommodations, and I was out the money. The listing indicated that there was construction. The instructions to park at the library was accurate, and it was not hard to find. I think the host did the best they could to accommodate for circumstances beyond their control. It did feel safe considering the police department is right down the block. My suggestion for the host in the future is to send out a reminder email 24 hours before, and call to make sure check in went smoothly.

Nice 45th anniversary stay.
We stayed here on 6/17/2023 and really enjoyed it. The construction outside was a bit of an annoyance but did not cause any major problems.

Quality Room
This was a perfect room for us as we were attending a 4 day event at Kentucky Horse Park. Paris, KY was an easy and beautiful drive to and from event. The Room/Bathroom were clean and cozy. However, the road construction on the street (realize owner has no control over this) was ridiculous to deal with. For our needs, just a place to sleep, it didn't matter all that much, but if you need to be in and out of your room throughout the day, probably best to wait until that construction is done. And you will get your workout with the stairs to get to your room, especially with luggage, which is expected in an old Victorian style home. Kathy was amazing and up front about the construction (delays) and we truly wish her the best in setting up these rooms for boarding. The city of Paris, KY needs to get their act together and finish the road! We don't see how any business can survive that chaos!

Downtown artsy Bed and Breakfast
My husband and I were pleasantly surprised at the cozy feeling of the little town this bed and breakfast is settled in. The house is used not only for a B/B but for art purposes as well. We enjoyed the decor and the spin on an older home! The house is within 3 minutes walking distance of Main Street. The home is in the process of some repairs but it did not hinder our experience whatsoever!

Great place to sleep if you don't mind rodents trying to get in
The property was nicely presented- we entered at night. The property was clean and rustic, however the suite next to ours was occupied and could hear almost everything. I didn't feel a sense of privacy with the amount of noise that came from the other suite. On top of that, I didn't sleep at all the night we stayed. Some critters from the outside were clawing their way in (noticed a large hole in the soffit in the morning that was at the top of a downspout -assuming it was a raccoon). All night, scratching and clawing like someone demo-ing the roof. When I let the property owner know, I was able to shorten my stay by 1 night, but the lack of empathy is what really drove me to this review. No apology, just an agreement to refund me the 2nd night since I was not going to stay there. Overall, the property could work, but maintenance on the exterior would bleed in to the inside from a comfort perspective.

Visit to PARIS! No not Paris France, but PARIS, KY
We greatly enjoyed our recent stay in Paris, KY celebrating our 61st wedding anniversary. The "Art on High" lodging was perfect with a central location downtown within walking distance to several excellent restaurants. The lodging was perfect for our needs and highly recommend this lodging & host.

Charming Antique House
We stayed at Art on High in November while attending the Breeder’s Cup horse races in Keenland ( near Lexington) and really enjoyed the accommodations. Kathy has restored this lovely home beautifully featuring some artwork by her students. There is still some construction going on but it did not affect our stay at all. The location was convenient to walk into town for meals and the drive to Lexington was not too long and beautiful horse farms along the way. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks Kathy!

close to restaurants and shops. Nobody there ,no instructions for coffee, sheets like cardboard and blanket like a rug. TV not in view of comfy chair. Street and front lawn with construction .

Perfectly Charming!
This king suite exceeded my expectations in every way. While evidence of a long-term renovation is evident on the property exterior and entrance, the suite itself is beautiful in its appointments and comfort. The art is thoughtful and sweet, the upcycled furnishings are lovely, and the bathroom is just what is needed to round out the suite. I even reached out to the property owner to find out where I could purchase the bedding - beautifully soft (and somewhat pricy) organic cotton in an updated ticking stripe that is so perfect for that space. We'll definitely be back when we're next in that area!

A hidden gem
Don’t let the construction outside of the building worry you! The suite is absolutely charming and looks identical to the pictures. The room was cozy with high ceilings, antique architecture, unique furniture pieces, and art decor. The bed slept AMAZING. It was in a great location and we truly couldn’t have asked for more.

We loved Kathy’s place. It was designed and decorated so well with an incredibly comfortable king size bed and fun pieces of repurposed furniture and art that gave it a charming, unique feel. Loved staying here!!

Paris getaway
Older property that is being fixed up, but very comfortable king size bed. Owner was great and very helpful. Great supply of breakfast food and snacks. Coffee and tea was supplied as well. In a historic part of town, but construction was going on in the area which was a drawback. Still the trip and place were enjoyable and we would return again if in the area.

Nice weekend Getaway
This space was perfect for us! It was clean and spacious and lovely! There was a wide selection of breakfast provisions and we enjoyed everything about our stay. It’s located within walking distance of everything in town. If you are looking for a place to experience horses, bourbon, beer, antiques and great people Paris KY and Art on High is a great option!

The room and building were super cute with shabby chic decor. The bed was super comfortable, the bathroom was very clean, and the baked goods were top notch. The only issue was on the coldest weekend of the year the HVAC had a hard time keeping up, but still pleasant. Centrally located to everything in Paris. :)

Lovely Room Near Downtown Paris
Our room was wonderful, clean and quaint. The old house is very cool and is currently undergoing a few updates -- nothing that disrupted our trip but I'm sure the house will be even more amazing when it's finished. We mainly slept there and then ventured into Paris and Lexington for the day but would stay again. The host was extremely prompt to communicate with any questions we had.

A nice place to stop.
We drove for 12 hours before staying here for the night. It was late when we arrived, but it was easy to get in with the provided instructions. A nice hot shower was a welcome end to the day, and the bed was so comfy. The artwork all around the studio was fun to see. Only one small complaint: The A/C has a weird cycle that is unusually loud, my wife and I eventually turned it off in the night so that we could sleep. It did not ruin the stay, it was just too loud and intermittent to allow for peaceful sleep.

Fantastic little gem
Lovely room in historic area. We loved the location & wish we had more time to explore downtown. Nothing really open on Sunday morning. The room was just like the pictures. Spacious, clean, & Kathy was great to work with. She allowed us to check in a little earlier so we could get ready for a wedding. We loved our stay. Hope to go back again.

The home is older and is beautiful once you enter the doors. The bed was comfortable, room is large and cozy with a light breakfast available. The farmer’s market had a night event with live music so I did not spend much time in the room.

This property was for an overnight stay. The room is fantastically charming and unique. It’s a one of a kind gem neatly tucked inside the Arts! We would have liked to have had more time to check out the town of Paris. We will definitely be back again on our trips to the area! Kathy was a responsive property owner that helped in anything we had questions about as well.

We had a very difficult time finding any place to have dinner we finally drove out of town about 3 miles to a Mexican restaurant. I was looking fwd to being able to walk and enjoy the downtown area, and we did find a gardens and all other restaurants n places of business we closed - there was a new Caribbean restaurant but not my favorite food.

On a Monday night, most restaurants are closed in a small town, so the timing was unfortunate for your visit to Paris. From your texts to me, it was evident that you were enjoying your room and I am glad that part of your visit was a positive.

Don't Believe the Pictures...
The room and property was MUCH more beautiful than shown! The bed was comfortable. Location to downtown restaurants was ideal ( went to Rustica for dinner- I would HIGHLY recommend!) Nice quiet neighborhood. Loved the artistic theme of the house/ room. Breakfast was fine...we went to a diner. Did miss out on the spice molasses cookies..not sure where they were?? COVID may have changed that though. I would totally stay there again! Thank you Miss Kathy!!!

unique historical house and lovely mainstreet town
We stayed for a long weekend visiting family in a nearby town. Paris has such a quaint historic mainstreet one block over. There are restaurants (Rustica Italian), bars and shops all within walking distance. On Saturday there is a Farmer's Market with beautiful flowers, fresh produce and crafts. The house itself was built in 1800's. It has been updated recently and our room was large with the most comfortable bed in which I have ever slept! The house is an Art School during the week and you can tell the owner has a great eye for decorating, too. Breakfast is more continental style, but Lexington being only 15 min away, you are sure to have many excellent food choices. The Paris library is next door, also recently refurbished and beautiful. Once the road construction is done it will be absolutely perfect!

Pleasantly Surprised
Our first impression was, "Whoa is this the right address?" as the outside is a little rough and edgy, but once we maneuvered the stairs and entered our room we were like, "Oh, how nice". VERY COMFORTABLE BED! A very quiet house and we slept in till 9am. Within walking distance to downtown. Happy Visitors!

Thank you for your nice review! We are doing a major renovation in the backyard, starting next week. The project was delayed due to COVID. So, the next time you are in Paris, stop by and see the new look.
