Amazing as always

Our fav place to stay in Parapara. The home is super cosy and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Love that we can take our wee dog. Beds awesome and great water pressure. Shona is really communicative. Can’t recommend highly enough and can’t wait to come back.

Peaceful escape

We had x4 days of perfect weather staying in this beautiful part of Golden Bay. Our accommodation was excellent and was only a short walk from the idyllic Parapara Beach that is fantastic for walking and swimming, and it was a privilege to see the migrating bird life in large numbers.The estuary reserve area surrounding the bach provided a very peaceful and enjoyable environment to return to after being at the beach. Great base to explore other parts of Golden Bay.

As the occupiers are required to clean after their stay I would like to give thanks to those before us for the great job they did and hope that those after us are as happy with our efforts. Beautiful Location, But Disappointing Experience and Poor Maintenance

The property is located in a beautiful setting with stunning views of the estuary and a short walk from Parapara’s beach. Unfortunately things go downhill once you step inside. First of all, we looked for a third bedroom with a luxury queen bed as described but instead, found a sad Murphy bed in the living room. Not quite what we were after. The photos are misleading showing the same room with different bedding, giving the illusion of more bedrooms. Our mistake perhaps…The walls are plastered with passive-aggressive notes. Every surface has a reminder of what not to do. Instructions on how to handle the toilet paper (yes, that’s a thing), warnings about cleaning the barbecue or removing duvet covers, it felt a bit like a sticky note dictatorship. Re cleanliness, maybe we’re just picky, but we found a few places that hadn’t seen a vacuum cleaner in a long long time and the benchseat stained fabric gave a little health and safety risk feel to meals. If the property were priced accordingly (i.e., cheap), I’d let it slide, but at the rates they’re charging (at least in high season), I expected a little bit more. We accidentally left behind a pair of shoes after leaving the property cleaner than we found it (which wasn’t hard). We emailed the owners to see if they could help, but three weeks later, we're still waiting for a response. Guess our shoes have become part of the Hawaiian vibe decor. Unless you have 3 dogs and no other choice, you might want to keep looking…

Perfect location

Lovely homey Bach- very modern which was great and loved the deck and sliders. The photos were a bit misleading as I was looking for the second bedroom with the other queen bed before I realised it was a wall bed in the lounge. Also realised belatedly no wifi which is admittedly stated but I’d misread. Would return for future holidays
