The host was accommodating for the refund we asked for and went beyond the normal due to the the fact half of the condo building is under construction. We did not have use of the balconies as this half is under construction and they are redoing the balconies. The construction noise started early at 8 am and didn’t stop until 5pm. Due to the construction one of the pools was closed completely and the other had very limited hours. The condo it self was nice just couldn’t stay during construction so had to leave and find another place which was very inconvenient. My issue is with VRBO and not vetting the places that are listed as this listing and others they have listed on there site did not list this was under major renovation during our stay. This was a huge disappointment and very misleading on VRBO site as I would have booked elsewhere as this was a surprise family trip that was booked months in advance and I don’t revive warning until the day before our trip. The owner reminded our monies and VRBO did refund is there booking fee but I feel we should have been refunded more for the issues and inconvenience this caused us not to mention I was on the phone with VRBO for over 2 1/2 hours while on vacation. VRBO needs to do better and to check if the listing me are forth coming with construction and other things that could ruin a trip due to no fault of the renter.
