Checked in to the house. Upon arrival - Air Conditioning was broken. (The house was 92 degrees inside). Shower backed up within minutes. Texted the owner multiple times, no replies. Phone number listed in the app was wrong. No answer. Back yard was very unkept. Weeds everywhere. Umbrella missing. Patio furniture broken. The owner took 2.5 hours to reply to my check in message. I manually unplugged the shower drain. (was clogged full of hair) and I reset the AC breaker(s) on my own. I advised the homeowner of how dirty the back yard was, the maintenance items required in the house, and they stated they apologized, and would send over a gift certificate for dinner. They also suggested I could check out earlier if I wanted and get a refund. I called VRBO - showed them pictures, advised them of the situation and they said we could check out and get a refund. Its been 2 weeks. No refund. We never got the gift certificate for dinner, and the owner refuses to answer our texts and calls. I've been using VRBO for years - I've never experienced an owner with such lack of care.
