Great week in Palermo

The appt was very nice. We very much enjoyed our stay here. It was in a quiet spot but walking distance from everywhere we wanted to be. Francesca was very nice and helpful to us.

A garden oasis

The property was fantastic with everything you could ask for and more. The courtyard beyond the kitchen is an amazing space to relax, have coffee, and read. Our host was amazing, and helped organize a trip to the beach for us with a private car. When in Palermo stay here!

This is a beautiful apartment in an excellent area of the historic centre. Handy for the marina and botanical gardens, it's easy walking distance to all the main sights and the rail station. Plenty of good cafes and restaurants nearby and, crucially, a fantastic cake shop! The apartment itself is clean and spacious. It's of a traditional style with antique furniture and some lovely art. The kitchen is fully equipped and the terrace is ideal for eating and relaxation. Also very secure, and felt completely safe in the surrounding area.

Tranquille et bien situé

L’appartement est vaste. Il y a partout des livres intéressants et des oeuvres d’art… Le lit est confortable, les draps sont craquants et plein de couvertures… Les robes de chambres sont très appréciées! Le coin est tranquille et tout près de la mer et de bonnes épiceries. Belle petite terrasse, un oeu fraîche début mars, mais bientôt parfaite! On recommande!

Great spot

Francesca's place was a great spot to call home for our week in Palermo. The street is quiet, but you're a 7/8 minute walk to the busier streets with restaurants and sights. A few things worth noting: The place was clean and the water pressure in the shower was strong. You may have to bring washing machine liquid if you were looking to use that, it works well. The coffee in the apartment seemed old, I’d bring your own.

Location is great and center if old town, the apartment most charming and the garden wonderful. Lots of space and quiet street. Near restaurants and walkable to visit churches, palazzi and stroll the cafes. Highly recommend.

Appartement dans le centre de palerme

Francesca est une hote très accueillante qui nous a proposé de venir nous chercher à l'aeroport. Appartement très spacieux avec beaucoup de charme et une décoration très agréable (de vieux meubles d'époque, des livres d'art etc). Un peu plus couverts serait un plus. Appartement très bien situé, à 2 minutes du port. Très calme avec une terrasse très agréable pour y prendre le petit déjeuner ou le repas du soir. Francesca est adorable. Nous recommandons cet appartement :)

The perfect place to stay in Palermo

We spent 3 weeks in this incredible apartment and loved every minute of it. To start with, Francesca is incredibly attentive, friendly, and helpful - going way beyond what we expected. She waited for us for two hours at the train station, when our train arrived late (and unfortunately due to MY phone problems, she did not get the messages I sent). Even after all that, and the late hour, she kindly spent a lot more time that night with us explaining the flat and the neighbourhood and outlining all the great places to visit, eat, shop in the Historic Centre and on day trips away. She then texted us regularly to check in that everything was ok, and see if we needed any help. She also went out of her way to help me figure out how to get a parcel that I had asked to be sent to the flat, enlisting one of the locals to speak to the mail carrier. She then arranged a driver, at a reasonable price, to take us to the bus station with all our luggage when we left. And of course, then there is the apartment! It is truly beautiful - spacious rooms with soaring ceilings and very cool furnishings and decor. The kitchen is well equipped and we cooked quite a lot - mostly because it was so perfect to eat out on the delightful terrace. There is nothing like sitting under the clear Sicilian blue sky for breakfast, and at night by candlelight (though there is electricity!) The location is also perfect - away from the main tourist area, but only a few minutes walk away. You are just 2 blocks from the waterfront promenade for lovely strolls, like Palermo families do. And the same distance from the amazing Botanical Garden. We walked everywhere - the best way to see this city. We never felt unsafe - and yes, we did wander through back lanes. - day and night! The locals are friendly - and many were incredibly kind to us. And as for noise - the apartment is incredibly quiet, because the doors and windows have great double glazing. We enjoyed the daily chatter of the locals in the streets when the balcony door was open - we felt like we were getting a taste of real Palermo life. We would definitely stay again if we return to Palermo and will be telling all our family & friends to grab it if it is available. Thank you Francesca - staying at your place made our time in Palermo perfect!

A Real Winner

Francesca is a real treasure and the apartment a real find. Staying in the historic district suited us perfectly—good restaurants and walking distance to many sights. The outside area was perfect for morning coffee and afternoon wine. Francesca provided lots of essentials in the apartment and went out of her way to get us help for our phones. This was one of our best VRBO rentals—a real memorable stay.

Top Marks for Francesca's Apartment

Top marks for Francesca's apartment in old Palermo. A gritty, genuine locality close to the seaside promenade, two street food restaurants, coffee and pastry stall and a fruit and veg shop. Other restaurants close by. An excellent base for accessing the old town - the location in Kelsa is about 15 minutes walk to the Quatre Canti. The first floor apartment is large with lovely high ceilings. It is well equipped and attractively furnished with interesting period furnishings, books, objects and art work. The courtyard has plants across all walls - a haven of greenery. Francesca can arrange a pick up and return to Palermo airport for a realistic fee. Overall a great base for the independent traveller. Better for two than four; there is only one bedroom.

Wonderful host, lovely apartment

Francesca was a wonderful host. It was great to have her pick us up a the airport and show us around the apartment at check in. She was so helpful when we had logistical questions during our stay. The apartment is on a lovely quiet little alley off a piazza, walking distance to most of the things we wanted to see. There are great street food options right there and easy access to the bus and the rest of Palermo. We loved our stay and would recommend to others. thank you!

Lovely place, lovely location

Exactly as we expected, a cozy apartment in a great area. The host was very informative and helpful. The trace was a beautiful spot for a morning coffee. The bathroom was clean and useful and the bedroom cool at night with AC. Overall very nice!

Fantastic, authentic, cool

Francesca rocks and is super-helpful. She picked us up from the bus station fro free. Also, she gaves us great tips regarding seeing cool places in Palermo etc. The best Pizzeria is next door, and across the street you can eat fresh fish sitting on the street with the locals! Gracie!

Eine sehr schöne Wohnung in der Altstadt Palermos

Die Wohnung "Centro Storico" in der Altstadt Palermos ist sehr schön und individuell eingerichtet. Neben deren Geräumigkeit ist die an die Küche angrenzende Terrasse, die zum Frühstücken im Freien und zum Verweilen am Abend einlädt, ein großes Plus der Wohnung. Von der Wohnung sind alle Sehenswürdigkeiten der Altstadt Palermos sehr gut fußläufig zu erreichen. Francesca, die Vermieterin, ist sehr zuverlässig und stets liebenswürdig! Insofern ist die Wohnung für einen Palermo-Besuch sehr zu empfehlen!

Beautiful spacious apartment close to historic neighbourhoods

Francesca was very eager to make our stay comfortable. She offered us taxi service to and from the airport, which made our transition into Palermo much easier. The large apartment was beautifully decorated with vintage furniture, books and art. We loved having meals out on the terrace. It felt like home. My only concern was the quality of the futon mattress, it was dense and concaved in the center and I had difficulty sleeping well. The place was located on the fringe of Kalsa away from the noisy center but close enough to restaurants and tourist attractions., although, there were some older gentlemen who would be up at 8:00 am talking very loudly outside. You know, conversation Italian Style (yelling).

Sehr empfehlenswert und ruhig mitten in Kalsa

Die Wohnung ist unglaublich geräumig, die Terrasse sehr ruhig und bestens für gemütliche Abende geeignet. Francesca ist eine hilfsbereite und sehr freundliche Gastgeberin! Vielleicht ein kleiner Abstrich: das Bad ist ziemlich abgenutzt und wäre überholungsbedürftig, inklusive des müffeligen Geruchs.

Fabulous location

Authentic Sicilian 1st floor cool apartment plenty of space with an outdoor eating area which was very quiet. Within walking distance of historic centre with safe street parking which was a bonus.
