Private Zen Retreat - Near HITS, Hunter, Hiking Trails

  • Welcome to our spacious 2700sqft 3 Bedroom/2 Bathroom Chalet located in the Catskills. Set on a private road this newly constructed home sits on 3 acres and features a large Great Room with cathedral ceilings and fireplace open to the custom gourmet kitchen with KraftMaid cabinets, Quartz counters and stainless appliances. The outdoor living space consists of a 610 sqft. deck with black railings.

    The kitchen is stocked for your needs and features a dishwasher, full set of pots and pans, a set of chef's knives, an oven, plates, cups, mugs, mixing bowls, cutting board and cooking utensils. We also provide a toaster, microwave, tea kettle, coffee maker and blender. Help yourself to any of the spices available. Garbage bags and hand towels are also available for your use.

    The two bathrooms are stocked with plenty of towels, hand soap and toilet paper. Each bed features a comfortable and new mattress, pillows, linens and comforters. Extra pillows, linens and blankets are available in the linen closet.

    The dining area has a 6 seater glass dining room table and 4 additional barstools. There is a large open concept living room, with an electric fireplace and comfortable seating. The sliding doors lead out onto the large deck/grill area.

    The master suite occupies the top floor and features a den/study area, walk-in closet and sizable Master bath with an Air Driven Whirlpool Tub, shower & double vanity and a mounted flat screen smart T.V.

    Completing the first level are two bedrooms and full bathroom. Two twins beds occupy one bedroom and a queen size bed in the second room.

    Downstairs, the basement walks out to the front of the house and doubles as a family/game room. There is a large entertainment area with a sleek Lazzoni sleeper sofa and a 55" TV. We offer plenty of games, as well as internet and access to smart T.V channels. The pool table and poker tables are great for keeping guests entertained.

    The laundry area has a full size washer and dryer and we provide laundry detergent, fabric softener and dryer sheets.

    Guests have access to the entire house except the basement closet, which we use as storage.

This house is beautiful and had all the space we needed. It was well stocked, beautiful, quiet outdoor space and the host was very accommodating. Great place to spend two weeks!

Pros and Cons

My husband and I rented this house for Thanksgiving. The positive reviews and location made the home perfect for a family dinner. The cost for two nights was $1593. Below is a summary of our stay: Pros: Cathedral windows, lots of natural light, private, quiet neighborhood, modern furnishings, electric fireplace, clean rooms. The master bedroom sitting area has a flat-screen TV, Jacuzzi tub, separate shower, and dual sinks. The spacious kitchen has lots of counter space. The basement/game room has a flat-screen TV, card table, and ping-pong table. Cons: The fridge icemaker was not hooked up. There were two icetrays. Few pots and pans. Three baking sheets were unclean.The two oven mitts were worn and oily. Two stove burners did not work. The fireplace did not work. We had to open a vent on the floor to switch it on. A strong and lingering sewer smell permeated the house on Thanksgiving Day. There was no lighter or matches to light the firepit. The WiFi instructions were incorrect. There was no paper with instructions about the house (ex: thermostat, TV remotes, garbage/recycling). The pillows were flat. TV in the master bedroom & basement did not work. Ping-pong net was broken. Master bedroom is up a steep flight of stairs. This could be a problem for people with knee issues. Despite the above cons, we had to make do and enjoyed our stay. But I would expect a host to pay more attention to details for the high rental cost, especially for a holiday weekend. I hope this helps.

Quiet, cozy and comfortable!

Lovely late summer stay

Even though it was rainy, there was enough entertainment within the house to keep us occupied. I'd also recommend checking out Saugerties. Definitely had a lot of fun there as well.

Beautiful and private retreat

We really enjoyed a family reunion in this spacious home in the woods. When you drive onto this property you take in the modern home with a wrap around deck and soaring glass windows. The home is modern, clean and set up for fun. We especially enjoyed the fire pit for late night s’mores, the game table for ping pong and cards. The master bedroom suite, privately on it’s own on the second floor, was incredibly spacious and comfortable. The location was perfect to see the falls, visit Hunter Mountain and explore Hudson Valley towns.

Betty was a wonderful host and her property is fantastic. We stayed with our two kids (ages 6 and 2) and couldn’t have been happier. The house is immaculate and very well appointed/decorated. The basement was a lot of fun, nice big yard to run around in, and the firepit was a nice touch. Would highly recommend!

Blissful retreat in the Catskills

Perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy a true escape. So nice to stay in a place that is clearly set up for visitors to enjoy themselves and feel at home. Spotlessly clean, uncluttered and every imaginable thing you might need seems to be there. We were there to ski at Hunter, which we enjoyed but also just loved being at the house, ligthing a fire and relaxing in the great room or hot tub. The hosts have done a wonderful job and are also enthusiastically helpful. Just a lovely house!
